Tom Brady Has Been In Touch And Remains On Track To Return Next Week

August 15th, 2022

Todd Bowles keeps it short.

Head coach Todd Bowles dropped what might be his first one-word answer of the summer this afternoon.

Bowles was asked after practice by Kevin O’Donnell of FOX-13 about Tom Brady’s status. For those unaware, Brady is on at least a 10-day vacation the team says was pre-planned but kept private from media until it was revealed Thursday afternoon.

Kevin O’Donnell: Have you been in touch with Tom during this whole period and is he still scheduled to come back next week?

Todd Bowles: Yes.

So there you have it. Brady isn’t completely disconnected from One Buc Palace and he’ll be back next week … Maybe. Hopefully.

  2. Somegatorfan Says:

Did yall see Trask though?!? Why even have Brady come back to this team. The future is now with the best young qb in the NFL. Kyle Fuc%in Trask baby.

    Wheeeeeewww

  3. Buc92’ Says:

    No lol

    Gobucs!

  4. Kentucky Buc Says:

At this point it’s completely worth it to watch media lose their minds. Not to mention the gossipy old women on here.

  5. Lt. Dan Says:

    @SB~LV,

Presumably to play quarterback? Just a guess. Hope this is helpful.

  6. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

That yes was pretty definitive. I accept Bowles answer at face value.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Anyone else here with me in telling Brady to kiss our a$$……who does he think he is…..cutting out on his team in the middle of training camp…..upsetting the Joes & Ira……the nerve (sarcasm)

  8. Jeff Says:

Just not sure he comes back. Wife hammering him to quit more than likely. They never let up. Even when they say they will.

  9. Smashsquatch Says:

No doubt he’s been in touch every morning, afternoon, and evening. He’s a junkie, don’t think for a second he can tune out football. Rest up for the long haul Brady, it’s a long season; and you’ll need every ounce energy to get through your swan song season.

  10. Kentucky Buc Says:

    Puff puff pass Jeff

  11. Rod Munch Says:

I’m going to go against all odds and say Tom Brady is a pro, knows his body and the playbook, and is going to come back and be 100% ready to go. I know that’s a tough call, but that’s where I’d put my money.

  12. Walter Says:

I thought Tom was doing his part right now to help make that movie for Paramount?

  13. nick houllis Says:

Bowles prob said ” I said yes and they dropped it! couldn’t do that in NYC”

  14. richbucsfan Says:

You know, Brady might have taken this time to decide his future in football. He left for ‘VACATION’ after Jenson’s injury. Could be he is deciding if he wants a newbie at center and guard. If I were betting on it, I suggest Brady will come back to retire.

  15. AbucAway Says:

Man I just can’t imagine Super G (hat tip GOB) taking Tom to task for playing this year. His stated timetable was to play to 45 yr old.
Maybe he’s just ducking out for publicity. He’s got some undies to sell.

He’ll be back for his final year. Hope hope

  16. Allbuccedup Says:

    We will see!

  17. Anonymous Says:

The team should focus on Trask, not Brady.

Folks here need to understand that Tampa Bay was the backup option. Brady first actively engaged with talks with Miami while he was playing here last season. Instead of focusing on the job and the season, he was focusing on his next opportunity.

It’s not about Tampa Bay. It’s not about Raymond James. It’s about Tom getting what Tom wants. He got Arians fired, and now he’s taking a vacation in the middle of the grind?

Tom has always been about Tom. The Bucs are the backup option. Brady only came back because Miami fell through. He’s not here out of desire, but necessity.

  18. CrackWise Says:

We he comes back. I suspect his first media interview will be to announce that this is his final season and that he is committed to going out on top.

He deserves to be celebrated the entire year. The fans deserve to send him off with as only we can. By throwing avocadoes on the field after every TD pass!!!

Are we suddenly not trusting Licht?

  21. TraskSeason Says:

This will be Brady’s last year here

  22. Buc king Says:

    All is well

  23. Bucsfan13 Says:

Trask can’t even beat out Gabbert.

  24. SufferingSince76 Says:

The usual nonsense comments about Brady. You guys really are removing all doubt about yourselves.

  25. ModHairKen Says:

Say something once, why say it again?

  26. ATLBuc Says:

Its too late, Trask has already taken over his starting job!!

  27. GOB Says:

The man looked incredibly distracted during that first week of camp. If that has anything to do with the “excused absence” who knows. CrackWise is probably right. Super G probably requested this time, to get her point across. This is it Tom, one way or another. It’s me or football. Personally, G never did it for me. A tad manish IMO. Brady always wanted the supermodel wife. It comes with the territory.

  28. Mikejp Says:

No player is worried about Tom conditioning and believes that Tom deserves this vacation.

  29. SOEbuc Says:

Are they the ones keeping in touch with Tom??? Lol. No he’s just doing his normal routine of laying on the couch with a bag of Funyuns on his lap watching Gilmore Girls.

  30. GOB Says:

The physical part isn’t being questioned, at least not by me. It’s his frame of mind. He acted similarly his last year in NE. Disinterested, and pissy even though they started 8-0. I’m sure it had something to do with the talent around him, and the fact that he knew he was gone, unless Kraft fired Bill. What about this team is remotely similar to that situation? He has all talent he could want, and BA is upstairs. He isn’t filming a movie somewhere. TMZ would be all over it. He’s probably trying to convince his wife not to leave him.

  31. ChuckBuc Says:

Jeez, calm down girls. We all know how motivated and detail oriented Brady is but we also know that hes just about hung up his cleats. Because he is such a perfectionist, though, he couldn’t leave it all on the field like it ended last year. We don’t know what’s going on in his life right now but because he is so dedicated I think we have to trust him and his judgement. He’s proven pretty reliable in the past.

At least I hope so. If this is just another case of Brady rule bending act, I’ll shut up and BBQ some crow.

  32. Kentucky Buc Says:

Yeah but Suzy told Tami that Shaniqua told her that . Sheesh

  33. PatsBears Says:

Some of the comments people said are stupid. They know nothing about BRADY and his competitive nature A lot of the responses are Trolls just spouting nonsense. Trask starting QB who played against the Dolphins 2-3 squad How soon people forget the super bowl win and last year lost in divisional game Your comments piss me off. Playing night games all the interest in the Bucs so what he looked around after after helping the BUCS win and talked about nationaly on sports show be happy and if he comes back and the offense and defense are healthy we will see how it goes. Third toughest schedule and remember when Brady goes the Bucs will be the old Bucs kick ass Trask

  34. SPARKY Says:

The intelligence of you guys is not very good

  35. Mr. Editor Says:

TB will probably play an extended series against the Colts. That should be enough to get him ready.

Trask can’t even beat out Gabbert.

    ———–

Trask hasn’t even beat out Griffin yet. The only reason you keep Griffin around is because you’re not wanting Trask to play, so until they cut him, Trask is 4th on the depth chart.

Not rooting against Trask, I hope he has a long and productive NFL career, but this annoying fanbois are some of the worst people on earth.

  37. GOB Says:

Hey Chuck, be careful who yous calling a girl, internet tough guy. Ain’t nothing wrong with mines intellamagence. I took trigomentry. GOB also reeds a lot of the classics, the outsiders, rumble fish and my favorite the Hardy boys.

  38. tbbucs3 Says:

Were still not over the Trask hangover because he played like most QBs do in preseason? Pathetic

  39. GOB Says:

Rod, you couldn’t be more right. If Trask was what they thought he was, he’d easily be the backup. Let it go folks, they made a mistake, it happens. Blane Gabbert plain sucks. The organizations incessant tire pumping is for one simple reason, Trask blows. If you think for one minute that they would’ve drafted Trask that high, knowing what they know now, you’re high.

  40. George Says:

I believe there is a greater than 50 percent probability that Brady does not return.

  41. Debora Moroney Says:

He will be back who wants to play in this heat

  42. captivajim Says:

colts have an Indoor stadium,, Brady will play 1st half

  43. Listnfrmafar Says:

    He’s leaving ladies!

  44. Wild Bill Says:

I don’t see the GOAT hanging up his cleats and ending his career that way. The Bucs have enough guns to be a SB contender. No way he ends his career with a whimper.

  45. Steve Ruby Says:

Brady , has done more than any QB in history ! I’m not a big fan of his , but you gotta give credit where credit is due ! I hope he steps down , when he comes back !
