Todd Bowles: Logan Ryan Will Return, Robert Hainsey On Track To Practice Next Week

August 31st, 2022

Todd Bowles

A little stress relief was delivered this afternoon by head coach Todd Bowles.

Speaking at One Buc Palace, confirmed that released safety Logan Ryan will return to the team. It was assumed that the versatile veteran defense back getting axed yesterday was part of a handshake deal to manipulate the roster so superstar center Ryan Jensen could be placed on injured reserve but still return later this season.

Bowles added that Jensen’s replacement, Robert Hainsey, is on track to practice next week. Hainsey left Saturday’s preseason finale early with a first-half ankle injury

Backup guard/center Nick Leverett (shoulder) is healing and could practice next week, Bowles said, in advance of the season kickoff in Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 11.

  4. #8 Says:

I’m listening to Ira’s podcast now & saw this pop up. I was impressed for a second on the article posting while also doing a show. But then I realized these podcasts are pre-recorded.

#8 is not up on the tech.

#8 is up on former players yet to be signed. Suh.

  5. geno711 Says:

I read on twitter that Hainsey and Leverett were practicing today from a Bucs writer. Is that a mistake?

  6. geno711 Says:

SI is mentioning that Suh is monitoring whether the Cleveland Browns will be reaching to him.

  7. Bird Says:

So at least we know where jensen and hainsey are on the toughness scale

    Opposite sides 😂

Hainsey was acting like sniper got em

    Good
To hear about the practice squad guys. A few can be protected too

  8. Hodad Says:

Strange we still don’t know what kind of injury Jensen has. Not buying it’s still to swollen to tell.

  9. Jmarkbuc Says:

Ryan Griffin has had quite a life, huh?

  10. Marine Buc Says:

    @ SB

I like that PS list. Looks good to me. Thanks for posting it.

  11. Marine Buc Says:

Interesting to note – WR TJ was the only Buc cut who was picked up by another team.

  12. A Bucs Fan Says:

I saw that both Hainsey and Leverett returned to practice today, and that Russell Gage had a helmet! Positive stuff.

As far as practice squad, I would like to have seen the Bucs keep Andre Anthony, but reports are he’s not coming back.

  13. David Says:

Still expect them to sign a guard/center for some depth. I would find it hard to believe there isn’t someone better than Leverette.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Like the PS players….note that Grayson & Andre Anthony haven’t been signed yet….still have a couple of slots to go….also Borregales.

  15. Cobraboy Says:

Nice to see Turner on the PS.

Griffin has made a nice career on the PS.

  16. MadMax Says:

Hey Bowels, keep coaching to get starters hurt….we’re up 21 points with 5 mins left in the 4th, just leave them out there….all good

Im already losing confidence after the preseason. Better get on him Mr. Licht and BA!!!

We’re going 1-3 to start, I hope ya’ll ready for that! Maybe 0-4.

Then something will happen and we’ll somehow turn it around and make the playoffs.

  17. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Madmax with another drivel take. Thanks for the clouds and rain forecast. Boring.

  18. AbucAway Says:

I agree there David. There has to someone’s better than Levertte and Wells

  19. MadMax Says:

Sorry if everything isnt rainbows and unicorns for you…toughen up!

  20. Z31 Says:

    ^^ yawn.

  21. MadMax Says:

    ^^ we’ll find out soon…all good….hope im wrong

  22. geno711 Says:

Wimps like to cry every time a football player gets injured that it must somehow be on the trainers or coaches. It is pro football guys.

Right now, both Dallas and New Orleans have bigger injury problems than we do.

As Robert Smith ex NFL running back says:

It’s like saying you are accident-prone in NASCAR. It’s going to happen at some point. The people who don’t get injured… are more of an exception than the rule.

  23. BucsfanFred Says:

    I’d like Andre Anthony back.

  24. Goatfarmer Says:

I guess no big deal, apparently no risk in losing him but – man, Logan you are our leader. Smartest guy we’ve ever seen put on a helmet. So, what we’re gonna do is cut you and not pay you for a couple weeks while you don’t sign with anyone else. Thanks for helping. You are really important.

Couldn’t do this with someone else? Jeebus Crust.

  25. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I don’t think there are any other players we trust that fit into Logan Ryan’s category…..(4 years in the league) to not have to go through waivers…..he can’t be grabbed by another team unless he wants.
    He’ll be back….

As for Andre Anthony, it looks like we are going with Genard Avery instead.

  26. Goatfarmer Says:

And the O-Line depth we’ve added is awesome.

    Oh, wait…..

Jason, put down the Big Storm and get a guard. Or a center.

  27. MadMax Says:

And dumba$$es like Geno understand nothing about what I was referring to….but go ahead and continue to look stupid….have at it forrest gump.

  28. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Ryan Griffin has it figured out. Man oh man – what a life! #holdingaclipboardforsevenfiguresforseveralyears

  29. GOB Says:

I agree with Senator geno. It comes with the territory. If you’ve played football long enough, you’re going to get injured. Winning a Superbowl has as much to do with injury luck than anything. Of course you need talent. The bucs line has been extraordinary healthy the past two years. The chances of it happening three years in a row, are very rare. Next man up

  30. Alstott up the gut Says:

Where is Russell Gage?!?! That is starting to worry me. Let’s not forget Brady’s comments in camp!

  31. Listnfrmafar Says:

Big fan of Patrick Laird, watch out for him down the road. He’s a bigger Danny Woodhead.

  32. GOB Says:

Listn, how I loved me some little Danny woodhead. So damn small, he could literally disappear at the LOS. He was listed as 5’8. That must’ve been with cleats and a bouffant hairdo. One of my favorite players of all time.

  33. Howard Cosell Says:

    Howard really really likes Ryan.
Bowles needed a team player to free up a roster spot temporarily: A guy who wouldn’t be butthurt about it.
    Enter Logan Ryan.
Yesterday Howard was right about Ryan returning and about Jensen the Anunnaki coming back sooner than expected.

Now Howard is going to be right by saying Ryan will be the cajones of the Bucs secondary in 2022.

  34. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard kind of misses his stalker/boyfriend.
Howard is worried about him because he hasn’t shown up to cry about Howards choice of pronouns in a 2 days.

  35. steele Says:

It’s coming up on Thursday now. Why isn’t the Jensen/Logan Ryan wink-wink done yet?

Relieved? No. Keep in mind that none of this should be happening in the first place. The problems aren’t solved.

  36. Cobraboy Says:

The Jensen/Ryan swap dealing is done…

  37. Goatfarmer Says:

Todd doesn’t instill confidence in goatfarmers. I have a bad bad feeling.

  38. Woodenman Says:

Goat I don’t have much confidence in you being a bucs fan.
