Aaron Stinnie Has ACL/MCL Injury

August 21st, 2022

Bucs guard Aaron Stinnie.

UPDATED 12:03 p.m. – When Aaron Stinnie went down with a knee injury last night, it appeared the Bucs lost another (potential starting) offensive lineman.

News of Stinnie’s torn ACL/MCL from Jenna Laine of ESPN sure confirmed this assumption, and head coach Todd Bowles made it official at his afternoon news conference.

Stinnie, 28, joined the Bucs in 2019 and was a standout through the 2020 playoffs while starting at right guard.

Joe has to ask why exactly a potential starter at the team’s thinnest position was on the field late in the third quarter of a sh!t game? That was reckless if not irresponsible.

As a result, the Bucs are now a lesser team.

No Sh@@!!!!???? I thought he would be running around just fine today. SMFH!!!

  2. Vance Says:

Brady just extended his Vaca by a couple weeks. This sh!t show O line will get him killed

  3. Jeff Says:

Bye bye Tommy! He ain’t coming back for a broken neck.

  4. beano Says:

    Thanks for the memories, Tom.

  5. Ash Says:

He was in there because he wasnt a starter got paid back up money.

  6. Mr. Magoo Says:

Stinnie isn’t that good to begin with, that’s why he was out playing in a meaningless pre-season game. He needed the reps too. The problem is all of his current replacements are even less experienced and capable, except maybe LG 2 years from now.

  7. Bucamania Says:

So dumb having him in there at that point. Licht needs to get on the phone now.

  8. BitcoinTom Says:

Tom currently on the phone shopping for a guard

  9. Anonymous Says:

    Out for the season.

  10. CrackWise Says:

Wow, this came out quick, considering we still dont know RJs injury status.

Is this is a good sign for Ryan???

  11. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

    Joe,

I did not hear the presser. Did anyone in the media ask him what Stinnie was doing in there?

  12. Marine Buc Says:

Sign JC Tretter and move Hainsey to LG…

  13. DaBux Says:

Uh, WTF. Not smart, not smart at all.

  14. Buc king Says:

    Tretter is the move….
Time to dig in the pockets.
I say grab him now and shop the market for oline after team cuts.
I would even say trade a pic n receiver to get a true LG…
This is a all in year we need to increase the run game and make sure beady stays clean.
Only way he plays past this year is protection..his wife will nit let him play if he gets hurt or hit a lot.

  15. NCBucfan Says:

    Agreed Rob,

I would’ve thought Joe at least would’ve asked? Let Goedkd take his lumps out there!!! Stinnie isn’t no Marpet, but he played solid for 3 and a half games during our SB run.

  16. 99 55 47 20 Says:

    Lovely

  17. NCBucfan Says:

Who do we struggle against the most??? What do they do the best against us???? This is basic stuff. The Rams and Stupid Saints are licking their Fn Chops!!!!!!!! Come on Jason. your phone better not get a break today!

  18. Netwalker Says:

Cuts across the NFL are coming. Some good talent is going to get cut. A new OG with experience/talent will be signed. Or maybe some team with guard depth needs some wide receiver depth. Could also be a trade coming. Either way, help is coming. Stop panicking.

  19. steak Says:

Isn’t it amazing how quickly the swelling went down with Stinnie compared to Jensen.

  20. Anonymous Says:

    Is it torn?

  21. 79bucfan Says:

    Calling marpet

  22. Colin in Canada Says:

Time to find the next Stinnie I guess. Someone else needs to step up.

  23. PassingThru Says:

Great, let’s protect the QB with castoffs.

  24. mark2001 Says:

Find a young guy with some good backup experience, or a couple of them…. not some broken down overpriced guy collecting one last paycheck. And coach him up.

  25. mark2001 Says:

But don’t overlook Sadarious Hutchinson. I think this guy could surprise some people.

  26. Irishmist Says:

We used to have all our offensive lineman wear knee braces during the preseason. Maybe we should get back to doing that.

  27. captivajim Says:

Arians should take over NOW –before the season starts. Bowles has proved in 4 wks that he is NOT HC material. His judgement ,and lack thereof is blantantly obvious to a 5 yr old !!

  28. Power of Pewter Says:

I fail to see how Bowles is responsible for Stinnie getting injured. He could have been injured on the first play of the game, or in practice, like Jensen. Goedeke needed the reps, and coaches wanted to see how he did with starters. Pretty reasonable if he’s expected to step in at some point during the season.
If you’re gonna point fingers for the rash of injuries, how about the trainers? It’s their job. Or Licht, for not having a better plan B for OLine and depth. How nice would it be if last year Bucs had drafted an OLineman in the 2nd round rather than a QB who’ll be a career 3rd string?

  29. captivajim Says:

Bowles is NOT HC material. ,not everyone is . HC needs to exercise judgement over all personnel decisions…

  30. MJC Says:

No way to defend it. Stinne has been there for 3 years. What was he going to show different while playing garbage time in preseason game.

Just a big mistake for him to be out there

  31. Mike Johnson Says:

Better start calling around Lict. brady cannot afford to take to many Hits. And it looks like the Hits will be coming based on this O line. Hit them Phones Licht. All hands on Deck. Waiver wires here we come…

  32. adam from ny Says:

time to trade a guy or two from our overstacked receiving corps for o-line help…

and rock n roll on the waiver wire as cuts begin to froth up…

    #NoTimeToSleepForLicht

licht is possibly an o-line guru, so now is his time to make licht like o-line moveroonies…

    #KeepTommySafeOrTommyWillNotBeInTheBuilding

  33. Craig Says:

The real question is why aren’t the Bucs linemen wearing braces, so their knees don’t get bent in obtuse ways.

  34. John dad Says:

Check out 75 plays Left guard center and right guard. For the Bucs

  35. Day 1-76 Says:

Bowles apparently has no clue about personnel management. They’re already screwed.

  36. J Ghotier Says:

What do you mean you have to ask why Stinnie was still playing? Because none of the 3 have done enough (1 in Stinnie w/ Super Bowl and Playoff experience) to earn the starting position at LG w/ just a week or so remaining u til the start of the ACTUAL season.

You don’t know everything Joe, what EXACT snap number is enough….nor was the competition clear. Won and completely “transparent” as you stated day before in previous article 🤯 knowing your track record of admitting fault and are apparently the All-Knowing snap count guy nonetheless (on a competition unresolved and still needs sorting out even to your article just hours earlier)

Yea, it hurts, and it’s awful AND it’s still fresh….but your take here is trash and horribly contradictory (I’d almost rather this be the built-in “other Joe” opinion quite convenient excuse 😂)!

Offensive Line Coach Harold GoodKemper or Harold Goodbitts speaking here? 🤯

  37. Goatfarmer Says:

Just scan the roster for the bottom 22 and suit them up for the last game. Bubble wrap everyone else. Only play those that won’t be on the team against Dallas. Screw this.

  38. SlyPirate Says:

LICHT’S BEST (AND ONLY?) TRADES TO DATE …

Pro Bowl OG. It’s a good sign for the Bucs.
