Injuries On The Cowboys’ Offensive Line?

August 25th, 2022

Injured last night.

[UPDATE: 12:51 a.m.] It appears the Bucs are not the only team with injuries on its offensive line.

It’s not too early to start looking at the Cowboys, the Bucs’ opponent to open the season. And last night in Cowboys practice in a non-contact drill, Dallas All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith suffered a knee injury.

Cowboys beat guy Todd Archer of BSPN twittered last night that it doesn’t appear with the initial examination that Smith blew out an ACL. Archer states Smith’s ACL “is intact.”

Smith is pretty much a walking injury. He missed six starts last year while battling ankle, neck and back issues. This spring he missed some OTAs because of a bum back.

Given his injury history, Joe wonders if the Cowboys will try to rush him back for Week 1 from this knee scare?

[UPDATE: 12:51 a.m.] Per Adam Schefter of BSPN, Smith tore a hamstring and is out “indefinitely.”

The backup left tackle has a similar name

  2. BucsfanFred Says:

They’re not settled at guard either.

  3. Maniac Buc Says:

It’s a lot of lines in shambles across the league. Bucs fans are panicking. We’ll be just fine.

  4. BucsfanFred Says:

They must all be drinking water bottles in Camp Lejune.

it’s not about being “fine” because other teams o-lines around the league are in shambles as well…

it’s about protecting your 45 year old quarterback to the nth degree…

because no matter what type of condition tom keeps himself in, no matter how well guerrero trains him, and no matter how many avocados he gobbles up during the day…at his age he is not going to be able to sustain lineman “running thru” him like he potentially could have at 28 years old…

the bounce back is way different in the mid 30’s and older for football players, and all athletes for that matter…

and at 45 you can’t begin to even access how he can bounce back from multiple hits from 300 pounders…

we literally need a wall to protect him – and then tom can be tom…

if he’s scrambling around like joe burrow did a couple years back in cincy, then giselle will pull him out the mix quick fast

BucsFanFred…I spent 3 1/2yrs at Camp Lejeune. Been battling multiple ailments since. Sorry bro, but not funny.

  7. Bird Says:

Thats why expecting to land a guard after final cuts may not be what everyone thinks

  8. Maniac Buc Says:

Adam from NY, Chill bro! It’s not that serious at all. Stop Panicking. Out line will be just fine. Our QB is a football player. He’s in great shape and I don’t think his age has anything to do with this. Bucs fans just get all bent up at anything. Our line is going to be ok.

  9. Hodad Says:

Every team deals with injuries at some point in a season. We here at Joe Buc fan tend to just focus on us being the only woe is me when it comes time to injury. Let’s not forget our second opponent the Saints had Jameis missing alot of time with a bad foot. He’s also getting over an ACL, and will be protected by a rookie LT, yet everyone wants to crown their arse as NFC south champs. The Cowgirls can be had, than we’ll go on to destroy N.O.. After we beat G.B., and K.C., going to 4-0, people will believe.

  10. Cobraboy Says:

Tore a hamstring. TORE. Not pull, but tore. Yikes! That’s as bad as any ligament tear.

So now a QB coming off an ACL, lost his All-Pro LT. Bucs odds in the opener just went up.

I have the Cowboys on my “implode” list for this season.

  11. PassingThru Says:

UPDATE: It’s more than a hammy, Smith has an avulsion fracture. It means he’s gone for the season

I might this will pave way for a Wynn trade.

  12. PassingThru Says:

Damn cell, “I imagine this might pave way for a Wynn trade.”

Anonymous, if you are the same “Anonymous” that I have been posting snarky comments at the past couple of days…. I would like to take a moment to say that is all light hearted……. and Thank You Very Much for your service to our country.

  14. Joey Strom Says:

No need to panic. We will be fine.

  15. TAMPA BAY DEMON Says:

    Man, injuries suck. Period.

I take no delight in reading about Cowboys injuries, or any other team for that matter.

They suck for the BUCS… but also for the rest of the NFL.
Just a tough part of the game.

  16. Captain Oblivious Says:

There seem to be more NFL injuries in the past couple decades then in times past. Could it be because the players are bigger and faster now so they impact with higher energy?

Thanks Adam form NY. What would we do without you? GOBUCS!
