Happy Tom Brady

August 11th, 2022

Lots of visible and physical love for Julio Jones.

Joe was so glad that legions of Bucs fans denied access to training camp got to watch about an hour of live camp coverage yesterday on NFL Network.

And, no surprise, the cameras were on Tom Brady nearly two-thirds of the time.

These were the kinds of angles and close-ups Joe can’t see at training camp.

NFL Network didn’t not air live-action periods against the Dolphins, but they showed all kinds of other work, and Joe was a little surprised to see how much Brady was smiling. He looks like one happy dude in that Bucs uniform.

Joe thought Brady saved his biggest smiles for Julio Jones, who seems very comfortable with Brady, coming to put his arm around him (screenshot above) and then getting in his face like they’ve been buddies for years.

Also interesting was former Panthers star receiver Steve Smith patrolling the sidelines and then raving about Brady’s precision, plus additional chatter about how Brady was talking a lot on the field to Bucco Bruce Arians. And Brady appears to have built a relationship with rookie tight end Cade Otton.

Again, Joe was encouraged to see Brady looking so darn happy, in between coaching up teammates and chatting up a Dolphins coach and other Bucs. It bodes well for the slim chance he’ll stay in Tampa for the 2023 season.

A little đŸ„ told me Darden was starting to deprecate himself from the pack, and may have even been better than Julio today.

  2. Maniac Buc Says:

Separate not deprecated. I know the Darden haters are going to love that.

Darden looked great yesterday, not better than Julio but still. It was also cool to see BA active the whole practice behind the QBS while bowels strictly stayed on the other field with Bucs defense. Like 2 head coaches out there

Hey Joe(s), I have a great pic from camp yesterday that I would like to submit for the site. Can I email it to you?

We are going to be forced to cut some excellent receivers this year.

Lest we never forget: Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and enthusiasm.

  8. Bird Says:

That pic shows you how big brady is
cause julio is not a small man
besides his skinny ankles. 😂

We have to keep julio healthy though. Maybe he practices once a week. Or just let him go on game days. He doesn’t need practice as it seems like brady has his speed/ timing in check. That alley oop pass video on the sideline was pretty good sign to see. His new throw it up to gronk outlet. If you havent seen google it (fins practice yesterday).

BA is Brady’s sounding board. One Miami beat writer wrote that after our OL was getting manhandled by the Phins’ DL Brady went over to BA to vent his frustrations. I’m sure it including a bunch of f bombs. I’m sure BA wasn’t happy in their performance. I bet Brady is happy to have BA as a sounding board. It it were up to BA, he would’ve lit up the OL about their inability to run the ball or pass block.

Lol any chance he was winking at the Dolphins, Joe? In a
”see y’all next year, type of way?

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Brady is happy because he’s got Julio……I think Julio may have a remarkable year if he stays healthy.

  14. Hodad Says:

Problem with their coverage was they kept showing the same clips over, and over. Can’t blame them, they can only film what they’re allowed. Not much you could gleam from any of their footage.

I think that Kyler McMichael & Don Gardner could be decent for them if they give them a chance. Same with that Troy Warner. Hopefully Zyon does well for them, too!
