More Evidence Chris Godwin Is On Track For A Week 1 Return

July 26th, 2022

Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin.

Judgment day has arrived.

Well, at least Judgment Day No. 1.

ProFootballTalk.com and NFL Network are reporting that Chris Godwin will be ready to practice in training camp and will not be placed on the physically unable to perform list, aka PUP.

No surprise to Joe. This was written here weeks ago that barring an unexpectedly poor physical when veterans reported, which happened today, Godwin would be able to practice a bit and the Bucs believe he is on track (for now) to be ready in September.

Joe will take any baby-steps-style good news when it comes to a guy who caught 90-plus balls from The Goat last season.

Training camp practice kicks off at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at One Buc Palace.

I bet you are enjoying these POSTS today JOE

  3. Rod Munch Says:

That’s amazing, I thought for sure he’d be out at least a few games. I’m really happy to be wrong, in particular since in early FF leagues I’ve been getting him very cheap.

  4. BillyBucco Says:

Please NO ONE complain about where are the Gronk posts!!

  5. Goatfarmer Says:

    Suh.

  6. Maniac Buc Says:

@Goatfarmer, you don’t think Julio will make the team, but you wanna bring Suh??? 🤦🏾‍♂️ Do you even warch football?

  7. David Says:

Can we ban goatfarmer for constantly yelling to bring back a DT who clearly lost a step in the pass rush and progressively got worse against the run last year AND who wants way too big of a salary?

  8. David Says:

So now they have Evans, Godwin, Jones, Gage and all might be ready to go week one? They need to take their time with Godwin so they don’t get him injured by rushing him back to you soon.

  9. ClwJB Says:

Seems like the Jones signing is insurance at worst and a veteran producer at best just in case CG has a set back

  10. Crickett Baker Says:

We need to get through the Saints game with no injuries, win or lose.

  11. Cover deuce Says:

No surprise? You spent all summer treating Booger McFarland saying CG14 wouldn’t be ready til after Thanksgiving, like he was Godwins personal physician or something. No surprise!? C’mon man.

  12. Long John Says:

Dr. Booger just lost his license.

  13. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Met him at Tampa international a few months back and he looked to be in amazing shape with zero signs of a bummed knee. Felt pretty optimistic about him being ready for week 1 since then.

  14. AbucAway Says:

Goatfarmer brings balance to the force. He can’t be banned.

  15. Bojim Says:

    Don’t rush him.

  16. Bucsfan13 Says:

The Aints will be knee hunting in week 2. They really should’ve been investigated. They took out three of our best players that game! Gronk played scared that game because he was afraid of getting hit in the knees. They were upset that Winston tore his ACL and they were hell bent on revenge.

  17. JB Kickback Says:

    Stupid stupid stupid!!!
Put him on the PUP for 6 games
We have what 30 wife receivers right now including Julio who just signed
Make sure Godwin is good to go for the second half, get the new guys involved and we’ll be better it

  18. Scooter Says:

Suh is in Aaron Roger’s head.

  19. ATL Buc Says:

Apparently, Godwin has been recuperating from surgery with the help of Alex Guerra. I’ve heard that Guerra has also been working with Julio for the past few month to get him past those soft tissue issues.
