Tuesday’s Underwear Football Notes

Bucs defensive players hang out before the start of Tuesday’s voluntary OTA underwear football practice.
It’s still voluntary OTAs as the Bucs hit the practice fields at One Buc Palace for the first veterans-included underwear football practice of the spring.
While the Bucs had several veterans who were not at One Buc Palace today, including Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Playoff Lenny, Donovan Smith and Devin White, many did attend. Remember, this is underwear football. There are no pads worn and there is no hitting or tackling of any sort allowed. Think flag football without the flags. Here are a few highlights:
* Blaine Gabbert got off to a good start when he completed a short pass to Cam Brate on the right sideline against tight coverage from Sean Murphy-Bunting.
* Breshad Perriman with a smooth catch straight up the left seam from Kyle Trask. When the Bucs broke up position drills and went to five-on-five, seven-on-seven and 11-on-11, Joe didn’t observe Ryan Griffin throwing a pass at all. Of course, the plays were screened by a wall of players so he may have been out.
* Travis Jonsen catches a pass from Trask and on the next play Trask hit Tyler Johnson on a throw down the middle.
* “Hello, my name is Zyon McCollum.” Trask tries to connect on a short pass along the left sideline and McCollum damn near got a pick.
* Gabbert tries to hit Ke’Shawn Vaughn in traffic and the ball falls incomplete on the right side.
* For those screaming for the Bucs to unload Donovan Smith and replace him with Tristan Wirfs, Joe has discouraging info for you: With Smith not participating, Wirfs was still at right tackle.
* Schiano Man Olakunhle Fatukasi picks off Trask along the right sideline and houses it.
* Gabbert rainbows a pass to the left sideline and it was like stealing candy from a baby for Dee Delaney, who got a pick-six.
* Trask also lofts a pass to the left sideline for Kaylon Geiger but this ball falls to the ground.
* Man, the Bucs have a whole lot of smurfs for backup receivers on the 90-man roster. Scotty Miller is among the biggest, and he’s little.
* Trask throws into a crowd and it is incomplete.
* Miller races back on a comeback route (?) along the left sideline and grabs a Trask pass.
* A run! Giovani Bernard runs off right tackle, turns the corner and hits the jets for a long touchdown run.
* Trask throws to Jerreth Sterns on the left side in a crowd. He immediately covers the ball with both arms to secure it. Solid fundamentals there.
* Trask throws short left into traffic and the ball pops up in the air and lands incomplete.

@Chris – This will be Trask second year ! How awful has he looked in the time that you have been able to see him ? Last time I checked he didn’t get many reps in practice last year and and only played with backups to the BACKUPS at WR .. Congratulations on the dumbest comment of the day , you can collect your award at the Rob Leeds website along with the rest of the morons.. Go Bucs

I do see a smaller gap of run and throw this year, and a good use of PA. Our oline upgraded with Shaq and Goedeke (?) That’s some serious inside blocking for Lenny,Vaughn, and White, who should all get their respected amount of snaps.
