Tom Brady And Rob Gronkowski Working Out — Just Not With A Football

May 24th, 2022

Tom, Maybe the Rays can use me? Then, I can do the hitting.”

Over the weekend, Bucs’ will-he-or-won’t-he, foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski was in South Florida, specifically at the Hard Rock in Hollywood. His long-time girlfriend Camille Kostek had a function for the jumped-the-shark Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

It appears Gronk then hooked up with Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady spends time in Miami. And Gronk recently was with his mother who lives in Fort Myers, per photos Gronk uploaded to his Instagram stories account. But in the video below, they were together and not on a football field or in a weight room. Brady had Gronk shagging fly balls at batting practice.

Brady was taking batting practice from his long-time personal trainer Alex Guerrero, and you can see a Yankees logo on the scoreboard in right field, so very likely they were in Tampa at one of the fields at the Yankees’ minor league complex on Himes Avenue. Brady was making Gronk work sending long fly balls deep into center field and into the right field power alley.

Yes, Brady was batting as a southpaw and he had a pretty nice swing. Not quite Keith Hernandez or Ken Griffey, Jr., but pretty nice for a middle-aged man.

Joe has a hunch Brady pitched Gronk on coming back to the Bucs this fall.

Would Joe rather see Brady and Gronk at Bucs OTAs this week, including at today’s practice that’s closed to media? Sure. But the goal here is for both to be on the roster come September. Joe trusts Brady.

Yes thats the Yankee complex on Himes. Brady works out there often. Without the prying eyes of the TEAM GLAZER at One Buc Place.

  2. Captain Oblivious Says:

Hmmm, he only has warning track power. Good thing for him he chose football. Besides that the Expos don’t exist any more so that had a dead end.

  3. GOB Says:

Brady could’ve been a big league player. My youngest son chose baseball over football. It’s a lot less cash, and the trek through the minors is no fun. Long bus rides and a 150k signing bonus? I think Brady made the right choice.

  4. PassingThru Says:

I believe it was the Brooklyn Dodgers’ GM who asked the star UCLA RB named Jackie Robinson whether he wanted football or baseball:

“Do you want a career, or do you want a limp?”

  5. gofortheface30 Says:

“the expos dont exist anymore so that has a dead end.” – YA, thats the joke. You must be fun.

  6. Bucsfan13 Says:

He had his play wristband on, guys. No need for alarm. Maybe he doesn’t want his workouts taped. I’m perfectly fine with that.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Glad to see they are doing workouts other than with Camille & Gisele……

  8. Bucsfan13 Says:

@Tampabaybucfan. Gisele resumed her modeling career. I guess she got sick of waiting for Tommy to retire.

Joe whines and complains about Trask not getting reps, and yet he wants Brady to show up to VOLUNTARY OTAs. If Brady shows, you do realize he’s taking reps away from Trask? Hello? One can show up for OTAs and not take reps. Brady could attend meetings, serve as a mentor. Run through his own workout on a side field.–Joe This whole media generated outraged about Rodgers and Brady not attending OTAs is tired. Brady doesn’t need to make a show to the media to let them know he’s been working out. And if anyone is questioning Brady’s commitment, they’re out of their mind. The man is a machine who would rather watch 50 hours a film a week than spend time with his wife and kids.

  10. GOB Says:

Completely unrelated, but it’s criminal that Montreal doesn’t have a team anymore. I loved taking the train from Maine up to Olympic stadium with my dear departed Dad. Some of my best childhood memories.

  11. PassingThru Says:

    @GOB

I took a tour of Olympic Stadium last year. The Expos left a lot of very disappointed fans behind, and there’s still lingering sadness among them regarding Blue Monday. And of course, being a Dodgers fan, I just had to smile and ask where Rick Monday’s ball landed. I expected a deportation hearing afterward.

  12. Bucsfan13 Says:

Joe has no idea when Brady is at the facility or what he does at the facility. Bowles already said that Brady does show up at facility. During the season, Brady was holding extra meetings. Does Joe know if Brady contacts his teammates outside of the facility? Serve as a mentor? What does that even mean? You want Brady to hold his hand? Joe is just frustrated that Brady handles his business in silence. Joe complains about anything and everything about Brady. Just stop the fake outrage.

  13. Bucsfan13 Says:

Joe it’s the QBs coach responsibility to develop Trask, not Brady. You don’t think Brady answers any questions Trasks might ask him? Matter of fact, how about you as the reporter ask Trask what kind of things Brady might have helped him with. The fact that some in the media feel that they’re entitled to everything that might be happening at a team’s facility is beyond tiring. And once again, these workouts are VOLUNTARY.

  14. GOB Says:

Passing, Montreal is also one of the best foodie destinations in the whole world. I try to visit once every few years, and always gain five pounds. Can’t bring myself to visit the stadium. Travesty

  15. Joe Says:

Bowles already said that Brady does show up at facility.

Yes. Admitted this after Buccaneers.com published photos of Brady at the facility.

During the season, Brady was holding extra meetings.

Yup. Many players have spoken about this.

Does Joe know if Brady contacts his teammates outside of the facility?

Joe thought this was pretty much common knowledge.

  16. Bucsfan13 Says:

Seems like Joe would like a phony photo shoot of Brady working with his teammates. Lets see a photo of Brady in the film room deep in though. Maybe that will satisfy Joe’s insatiable appetite to know what Brady is doing in his off-season. I know you would like every single practice filmed, but it’s not like that with the Bucs or any other team.Sources also say Brady was throwing balls to some Dolphins receivers.

I’m sure Joe would LOVE that story to be true since he jumps on every story that might shine Brady in a negative light. I follow reporters for other teams, and none of them have been acting so entitled as Joe. I’m sure Joe will whine about it on the next podcast. Not even the other Bucs’ beat reporters have been acting this entitled. Rodgers didn’t show up at OTAs, and the beat reporters have written stories about his absence, but they haven’t been acting obsessed about his every move this off-season like Joe has done with Brady.

Finally, Brady has been in the league 23 damn years. I think he knows how to prepare for the season.

  17. PassingThru Says:

Yeah GOB, Montreal has amazing French cuisine: the best duck dishes known to mankind, foie gras (which I smuggle back to the States), and of course poutine. And there are some great speakeasies/secret bars sprinkled around downtown that are a blast.

I love it up there, though the winters are brutal.

  18. Joe Says:

I know you would like every single practice filmed, but it’s not like that with the Bucs or any other team.

You would be dead wrong. Every second of every practice is recorded and not only do coaches comb through every frame, so too does the league office in New York.

Not just the Bucs, every team.

  19. Anonymous Says:

I can assure they was definitely practicing together prior to the batting practice. I have a very close inside source and they was running routes and throwing. This isn’t the forst day either..I can’t release but i have pics lol

  20. Bucsfan13 Says:

I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I mean it’s not available to the media.

  21. Bucsfan13 Says:

@Anonymous. Pics are it didn’t happen lol. I have no idea if these players are working if i don’t see any photos or videos.

  22. BillyBucco Says:

You can guess they were probably using a football shortly before or after this.
I’m glad to know they are in touch and in Tampa.

At least he’s not in Buffalo.

  23. GOB Says:

@PassingThru if you like Italian food, I implore you to go to Pizza Salumi the next time you’re up there. I lived in the north end of Boston for years, and have yet to meet their equal. I too have been known to smuggle a Lil goose liver in my carry on. We need to party

  24. BillyBucco Says:

And I think it’s quite possible because Brady has played a season without Gronk already.
Question is does Gronk know if this is Brady’s last season?
If he already knows Brady is going to Miami next year, he very well could wait.
And it’s no fun to announce you are coming back right after Brady.

I hope they film another Bad Boys segment to announce it.

  25. PassingThru Says:

    @GOB

Cool, we’ve gotta get together and party!

I’ll check out Pizza Salumi. Honestly, I was never big on Pizza Regina over in North End, though some of the Italian seafood places are great. My favorite pies in the US are made over in New Haven (Sally’s, Pepe’s). They opened a Pepe’s over here in Chestnut Hill, but it simply didn’t travel well.

  26. SPARKY Says:

I go to this site to take my mind off of my diet and great hunger. How did we get from Tom and Gronk having fun to the Betty Crocker show? F_ck it, I’m getting something to eat. Thanks a lot guys.

    @ Bucsfan13 if I post I loose my source and I can’t do that
