Ronald Jones Peeved At The PFF Tribe

February 16th, 2022

Disses RoJo.

It’s not uncommon that the PFF tribe — or someone pretending to be a PFF tribe type who vomits numbers — angers a general manager, a coach or a player.

Go talk to some general manager and/or an offensive line coach about the PFF tribe’s GD grades. The reaction is akin to telling someone after a few beers they are being audited by the IRS.

Players sometimes will freak out on social media as well. Like today.

Two years ago, Bucs running back Ronald Jones was a couple of carries away from reaching 1,000 yards rushing. But a certain quarterback knew his tenant receiver had a bonus coming his way so instead of letting a workhorse like RoJo get the glory, the certain quarterback made sure his tenant got paid.

Well, the PFF tribe came out with their 2022 free agent rankings. And in the top-200, you will not find RoJo’s name except in an excerpt for Playoff Lenny.

And this did not sit well with RoJo who took to Twitter to vent at the PFF tribe.

And in case RoJo deletes the above-embedded Tweet, below is a screenshot for your dancing and drinking pleasure.

Joe didn’t study the tribe’s top-200 free agents but Joe is guessing that would be a bit difficult to not include RoJo somewhere.

Joe has a strong hunch RoJo won’t be with the Bucs in 2022. But if he is, Joe sure hopes he uses this as motivation to dominate opposing defenses.

Rojo brought it on himself, he has not heart. All the talent but no drive.

  2. Anonymous Says:

He has all the tools except where it counts… between the ears and in his heart. Needs to mature some more

  3. Rayjay1122 Says:

Maybe 200 other RB,s will not run out of bounds on 3rd down 1 yard short of the sticks? Just maybe. Can’t fix stupid which is a big issue on the Bucs and may be a reason why the GOAT decided to graze in greener padtures.

  4. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

He’s limited. A good runner. Terrible at blitz pickup or blocking. Terrible at receiving.

  5. RicanBucs Says:

He has all the tools except where it matters most… between the ears and in his heart. Need more maturing.. soft mentally. True facts

  6. tampabayallday Says:

When a player decides to not go for the first down marker on multiple plays, he doesn’t even deserve a roster spot.

  7. WalkdaPlank Says:

For reasons unbeknownst to the public, BA is not very fond of RoJo. I personally had just started to like RoJo in 2020 when he was hitting his stride. The guy was a 2nd round draft pick that wasn’t being used at all, healthy scratch (kind of like another 2nd rounder we have), and by the time BA finally plugged him in he went wild. It was a good story.

I understand why BA got the hard on for Lombardi Lenny because, well he contributed heavily to us winning the Lombardi. But the perpetual putting RoJo in the doghouse this season was confusing and annoying. If RoJo fumbled once he wouldn’t see the field for 6 quarters, meanwhile Fournette could bobble screen passes that turn into picks all game and he’s just fine.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him return but the last thing I want is to see next season is a healthy RoJo not getting the ball.

  8. Bqen green Says:

Basically quitting on Tom Brady, should mean immediate expulsion from the league. Don’t know what he was thinking, but he certainly cost himself mucho dinero. Running backs like him are a dime a dozen. Wouldn’t touch him with a fifteen foot pole. Know your role and do your job.

  9. Listnfrmafar Says:

He probably didn’t kiss BA’s arse like Lenny did. BA loves to be the king.

  10. Lamarcus Says:

Reality he is not a top 200 free agent. Maybe top 300

Rojo was never really that good in NFL. Rojo college montages are the best and really Jamal Charles-like. Now, he looks like he just runs straight

  11. Lokog Says:

Earnest graham was better even Pontiac Williams was better

  12. Buccos Says:

I like Rojo. He had the longest TD run in Bucs history. He hasn’t been used right.

  13. SlyPirate Says:

What’s working against Rojo are the stories about his fragile mental state.

Rojo would be a 3rd string insurance policy UNLESS there’s a concern he’s a distraction.

  14. HC Grover Says:

    ROJO dime a dozen.

  15. Joe Says:

    “Pontiac”

    🙂

  16. Jason Says:

On a side note. Isn’t it time to make 1,200 yard seasons the benchmark for a great season. Just saying.

  17. Crunchbuc Says:

Hey RoJo. Run out of bounds for another team. Your lazy ass isn’t welcomed here anymore

  18. D-Rok Says:

    @ Ben Green,

Agree. He has talent but lacks the internal motivation to be great, to rise above, especially in critical moments of games.

  19. Biff Barker Says:

I’ll always think fondly of Earnest Graham. Guy was always tough not flashy. He had droves of heart. RoJo is missing that part of what made EG so fun to watch.

  20. MadMax Says:

This is why I keep pushing for Brian Robinson Jr. We could trade down into the 2nd and probably still get him. We better have a strong running game, Im telling you!

Poor Old Nword Thinks Its A Cadilac.

And if anyone cares to go back and look at the Lack of carries Rojo was given and Still blame it on him then there is No help for you

  23. Tony Says:

I didn’t want him when he was coming out. I wasn’t much of a fan of him then. He has a hard time with things.

  24. Will Says:

Joe it wasn’t the QB that called those plays that got AB his bonus that year. You don’t know that. –Joe Heck actually on the I am Athlete show on YouTube when they had AB on he told Brandon Marshall that Byron actually asked when the season was nearing its end “who had bonuses they were close to getting” so he could help make sure they got them. He said he’d never heard a coordinator ask that. Makes it even that much crazier that he went off like he did during the Jets game. Can’t lie I wonder if everyone involved wishes they had handled that situation differently. I know it’ll never be admitted by BA though.

  25. BucsFan81 Says:

We need playoff Lenny back he loves giving hits to the other team.

  26. Listnfrmafar Says:

SB the true village idiot. You don’t think if he was performing he’d get the ball? That is unless you believe he is miscoached? You’re up Dbag!

  27. Ash Says:

There was a reason for the lack of carries fournette was better he had a strong overall game and rojo was limited hence the lack of carries.

  28. Pewter Power Says:

If he could pass block he’d be a starter for most teams. He’s not Chris baker or d jax or AB so no need to kick him on the way out the door.

  29. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I’m not a Rojo guy, but he’s not top 200, come on man!

  30. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Ash

The issue is not why did Fournette get more carries. He’s obviously better than Rojo. The issue is why were Bernard and Vaughn subbed in on running plays when Fournette was gassed/injured? Those guys are way better for passing downs of course but RoJo is easily a better pure runner than both of those guys yet Rojo was consistently put in the doghouse or a healthy scratch.

This tells me that whatever Rojo’s problem is, it’s not on the field. Whether it’s mental issues, lack of heart, or poor coaching. All are possibilities. The guy has the ability.

  31. DaBux Says:

    Dear RoJo,

    Don’t suck.

    Problem cured.

    L:ove,
The crap teams, not the Bucs.

  32. Bqen green Says:

Earnest was coaching highschool football somewhere in Florida the last Ben checked on him. A name Ben hasn’t heard in a long long time.

  33. Bqen green Says:

Alvin, backs like rojo can be found in the sixth and seventh round, in any draft.

  34. Bucanero Says:

Pontiac Williams should be in the Ring of Honor

  35. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

Gotta agree with RoJo on this one. IMO he’s in the top 200 FA’s this year. As already pointed out his blocking has been iffy at times, but with the ball in his hands he’s good. Heck he could stay in-State and go to Miami and probably become the starting 1st and 2nd down RB. Whether the Bucs resign him or he moves on I wish him well.

  36. JimmyJack Says:

I could easily see Ronald Jones prooving this list wrong especially if he lands on a rushing team.

He just dont got go good place on this team. We pass the ball. Rojo dont block well and he dont catch well. Some guys just dont fit good in the system. Doesnt mean he wont be good elsewhere.

  37. Adrnagy Says:

What will licht do at RB. We only have vaughn

  38. SB Says:

Listn……EVERYone here considers you a Joke. Why don’t you stop listning from afar and go so far away that nobody has to accidentally hear you.
You are Top 3 of the most idiotic posters I have ever seen here and that is saying A LOT!
Just give it up troll. If you died tomorrow and never posted again nobody would say..”Hey, whatever happened to ‘listn’ ? I miss him.

  39. JimbobBucsFan Says:

I think the guy does have heart. Look deeper into his career. Stop it with all of the snap-judgment analysis, y’all.

Just look at how he “killed himself” with effort in order to turn his situation around after the first disastrous year that he endured. He reminds me of a famous RB named Walter Payton in that regard. He has never been allowed to have a consistent number of snaps for many games in a row under any head coach he has had in the NFL. He just might do quite well in another environment altogether. He is still young enough. I wish him well.

  40. JimbobBucsFan Says:

😣 I’m with you SB! 😉 Our latest troll has nothing of worth to contribute here. I have to stumble over his posts to find what real fans have to say. 😊 😘

  43. adam from ny Says:

    beware of wherever rojo goes…

he’s gonna have a chip on his shoulder for the way things turned out here for him the past 2 years…

if given regular carries in the right situation, he’s gonna run for 1,000+ yards next year

  44. Swampbuc Says:

Does the PFF tribe have a grade for Todd’s Bowels playcalling during the final 30 seconds of a game Brady clawed the Bucs back to a tie in?

  45. Aceofaerospace Says:

I still haven’t forgotten his mysterious injury after not getting his 1000 yards. Just looked like someone pouting to me.

  46. Ash Says:

He was terrible at pass blocking that’s why they had Vaughn and Bernard in instead of rojo it’s a pass heavy scheme and I would imagine after almost getting tom killed a couple times he didnt want him in anymore. It also mind you just what I think anyway that the bucs were done with rojo and rojo looked like he was ready to move on. I’m not saying he won’t be successful somewhere else in a different scheme just didn’t seem to fit what the bucs were trying to do and there is where you get the lack of carries.

  47. 1sparkybuc Says:

Longest run in franchise history, and a handful of yards short of thousand yard season is proof ROJO can carry the ball. Not a decent blocker and dropped passes about the same as Lenny. Some team that just wants a runner will make better use of him at a bargain basement price. Lenny will look for a big payday and the Bucs will look to fill the void. Great progress from his rookie year to year three. Last year he can’t get the splinters out of his ass. Did he forget how to play? Did someone forget how to coach? Not much production out of the rest in that room, other than Lenny.

  48. steele Says:

RoJo is a better runner than Lenny, far more explosive. I fail to understand why coaching staff couldn’t get him to fix his blocking and receiving. Frustrating.

  49. Tom Sumner Says:

PRO BOWL LINE…OVER RATED ..IF THEY COULD ONLY FING BLOCK..UUGGHH

  50. Tom Sumner Says:

    Sad… but TRUE….

  51. Buccos Says:

Tojo with the Steelers equals 1200 yards next year

  52. Swampbuc Says:

Steele – it’s beginning to appear that some of the coaching went awol this past season. Zone defense assignments, blitz package assignments, blitz pickup assignments. Lenny just owned the work ethic and willed himself to be better and more reliable in all phases because of his brain and heart. I agree that RoJo has the more explosive physical tool set and it is frustrating that our QB was a better coordinator and position coach than BA’s staff of 439 coaches.

People are talking about his intelligence and heart… I have no idea about either and wouldn’t question someone about those things without knowing.
What I do know is it’s been a few years and he still has not learned how to run good routes to be a better pass catcher and how to block well. That is why he’s gone

  56. Hodad Says:

Prove them wrong. Maybe it’s the kick in the rear he needs.

  57. Bucsfanman Says:

Joe- It sounds as if you are insinuating that Brady had something to do with him not getting 1,000 yds? If I recall correctly he was injured AND got covid at the end of the season. Am I remembering correctly?

At any rate, he did not evolve and was a shell of the RB he was in 2020. Worse yet, he was tentative. That’s a trait no RB should have.
The better back emerged. Rojo will most likely not be with the team in 2022.

  58. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Breece Hall Iowa State in 2nd Round- He can run and catch on Day 1 and is physically imposing.

  59. Buczilla Says:

Rojo has gone from terrible to above average and back to terrible agan in his short career. Horrible pick by Licht, but I appreciate the fact that he at least tried to draft a good running back and didn’t ignore the position like he use to. Good luck and good riddance Rojo, thanks for wasting our’s and the team’s time waiting for you to prove that you belonged. Why our team has historically given such long ropes to players (Vinny, Clayton, Howard, Winston, etc., etc.) is beyond me.

We are very similar that way with the exception of how he belittles the man who put the Buccaneers back on the maps wife Giselle. The woman that could buy and sell him a million times over. He clearly is a woman hater with a superiority complex. Oh and SB, it’s OK to have small man’s disease, this is a judgment free site.
