Stephen A. Smith: Playoff Quarterback? Aaron Rodgers > Tom Brady

January 21st, 2022

Picks his QB to win NFC.

Packers drama queen quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a choke artist. Let’s call it like we see it.

Since Rodgers led the Packers to the Super Bowl title in February 2011, the Packers and Rodgers have yet to return. Twice, not counting this season, the Packers were the No. 1 seed. Twice, not counting this season, Rodgers was the league MVP.

Meanwhile, a guy who goes by the name “Tommy” sits in west-central Florida and helps kill long days polishing his seven Super Bowl rings. Yet a man who hollers for a living said this season he would take Rodgers over Brady.

Who is that man? Screamin’ Stephen A. Smith. On his show, “Worst Take,” SAS said with conviction, authority and volume this week that if he needed a quarterback to get him to the Super Bowl this year, it would be Rodgers.

Never mind Wisconsonites flock to Arizona and Florida based on the day that Rodgers throws up on himself in January.

“But I’ve got to tell you something,” SAS began. “Based on the eye test. What I am seeing and sensing the moment that we are in, for me it’s Rodgers.

“If I were to ever decide to bet against Tom Brady, this is the moment I would do it.”

Joe has been saying for months that Rodgers is a choke artist. So Joe is not worried if the Bucs have to play the Packers — if they have to play the Packers — because Joe is confident that Brady and the Bucs will find a way to win.

Until proven otherwise, Rodgers is a choke artist. That’s all there is to it.

You can see and hear SAS holler his take on Brady and Rodgers in the BSPN video below.

The Question is what QB do you want? Not what team do you want. Thats easy Brady. You put Brady on a rested Packer team, and not all beat up team, and Brady would destroy teams.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!

  2. mg Says:

The loudmouth is an embarrassment to sports.

  3. Bucsfanman Says:

Agreed August. At the end of the day, there really is no comparison.
It’s not a knock on Rodgers. Rodgers is a great QB. The facts speak for themselves.
There is not another QB who I would rather have the ball in their hands when the game is on the line. You’re kidding yourself to think otherwise.

  4. Beeej Says:

SAS spent the whole of LAST session saying Brady was done, and ought have retired. Most of these windbags gradually shift their views and pretend they never HELD their previous positions,, to his credit he admitted he was wrong.

Hopefully he has to do that again

  5. '79 Defense Says:

I’m not a fan of Rodgers, but he’s capable of winning and to say that we should not be concerned at all about playing him is pretty dismissive.

  6. rrsrq Says:

SAS actually spent all of last year telling everyone how great TB12 is, that he was not betting against him. He is a big fan of Aaron, but if you watched SAS last year, he stopped arguing with his co-host that kept saying Brady was done. SAS is a Brady fan but he says simply that Aaron Rogers is a bad man.

  7. westernbuc Says:

Tbh I think the 49ers are going to beat the packers

  8. SufferingSince76 Says:

I have to admit I do like Little Steven.

  9. Bucs Guy Says:

Anyone with half a brain pays no attention to SAS. All mouth, no knowledge.

  10. Buczilla Says:

Lol, I’m not watching that, but thanks for the synopsis.

  11. Sandman Says:

I watched yesterday again the conference game Packers x Seahawks in 2014. Aaron is a choker.

  12. bucs4life Says:

I hope the niners run it 35 times though

  13. PassingThru Says:

SAS is in the business of generating eyeballs so that his employer can sell them to advertisers.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I certainly agree that Brady is the better QB & that Rodgers chokes…..you can’t take away most of Brady’s weapons and expect him to perform the same…..

Right now we are missing Godwin, AB, Grayson, Perriman, Rojo, Lenny & maybe Wirfs…..that’s a sizable dent.

  15. Show Me the TDs Says:

Bugzilla, agreed. In another life SAS would have made a great snake oil salesman or carnival barker.

  16. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

“You can see and hear SAS holler his take on Brady and Rodgers in the BSPN video below”…………uhhh, no thanks.

  17. Listnfrmafar Says:

SAS won’t have a choice once he loses to the 9ers

  18. Lesko_Brandon Says:

I like his take on this. SAS gives Brady an extra motivation to prove the pundits wrong again and again and again and on and on and on …. GO BUCS !!!!

  19. BBro Says:

Yep we need the Bucs to win n the Pack to lose n play 49er’s here 👍

  20. Fish Says:

Playing the packers isnt the thing i worry about its the weather. if it is snowy and super cold i dont believe our ground and pound will be strong enough on offense.

  21. Biff Barker Says:

SAS is a blowhard. If stupid takes were painful, he’d stop running his worthless yap about Brady.

LOL Joe. The GOAT polishing his rings.

  22. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

Where is the body of work?

  23. MadMax Says:

Barely heard of him….i dont pay attention to loudmouth drama queens.

  24. ClodHopper Says:

After seeing the Cowboys last weekend, is it possible some of those chokes by Rodgers were actually McCarthy’s doing? Even last years NFC Championship game, wasn’t it Lafleur who choked at the end?

  25. Ash Says:

I don’t think lafleur choked I just don’t think he was confident in Rodgers ability after he failed three times to get it done on the goal line especially after that last pass he made which could have been an interception. Also they almost stopped the bucs from running out the clock and if they would have got the ball back who knows what would have happened. I also think the 49ers have a good shot to beat the Packers.

  26. DrunkInYbor Says:

It’s all for show how many times did we hear last season we were done. Remember stupid stupid stupid Steve Smith. With his lit up and a angry scowl. ” When the playoffs come the Bucs are going to get ran!” And the jack apple repeated it a few times to really show how serious he was. He don’t like us and I don’t like him. Great player just dislike his personality and crap talk.

  27. Rayjay1122 Says:

I never watch or listen to this SAS fool, so his opinion really does not impact my life any more than gnat crap does.

  28. CalBucsFan Says:

Quit listening to that know-it-all loud mouth a long time ago.

  29. SlyPirate Says:

WHAT A SLAP IN THE FACE! …

They posed the question, “Who would you rather have Rodgers of TB12?”

Green Bay and Tampa Bay aren’t playing one another. The question is really, which QB is the best built for the playoffs. The question assumes TB12 and Rodgers, which all the while …
    1. Disregards both opposing QBs (Garoppolo and Stafford)
    2. Disregards all remaining AFC playoff QBs
    3. Disregards 30 starting QBs in the league

Forget the slight to TB12, the very question punks every QB not named TB12 and Rodgers. I’d be like, “WTF, SAS!” if I was Mahomes.

  30. Swampbuc Says:

The only time I can listen to SAS is when he’s making fun of the Cowboys. It’s hilarious stuff. I ignore the other stuff.
