Ryan Jensen Not Sure About Bucs Future

January 24th, 2022

Bucs center Ryan Jensen.

Bucs Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen can still feel the pain of last night’s loss.

Jensen, speaking this morning via Zoom, seemed emotional. At times his voice seemed to crack.

“Lot of emotion,” Jensen said of the Bucs’ locker room last night after the game. “Tough way to end it.”

Unlike Lavonte David’s comments last night when David referred to “turmoil” in the locker room during the season, Jensen painted a picture of a locker room with a tight bond.

“Locker rooms like this don’t come around very often,” Jensen said. “That’s what made it difficult to go out that way.”

Jensen, a free agent, said he has no idea what Tom Brady will do. Though he called Tampa “home,” he was non-committal on his Bucs future but hinted whatever his future is with the Bucs, that call likely won’t be solely determined by Brady’s decision.

“I don’t know if that will be a contributor or not,” Jensen said.

As for as Jensen’s ankle, he said it doesn’t appear that it will require surgery.

Joe is sure all Bucs fans will be thankful for that.

I’m thinking he leaves. His home is in Colorado and he loves it there. Maybe he goes to Denver to block.

  2. Onetrickpony Says:

    Jensen, come back please

  3. Defense Rules Says:

I’d like to see him back (at the right price only though) because he’s the leader of this OLine IMO.

  4. August 1976 Buc Says:

Ryan will play it close to the vest, he wants another contract. We will see how it goes, cannot give up the farm though for him, but he has been a decent player.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  5. allbuccedup Says:

One of the best centers in the nfl , if not the best.

  6. Bojim Says:

Too early for anyone to really know how they’re going to feel later.

  7. Youngbucs Says:

The only turmoil was Antonio Brown. Simeon Rice said he was at training witnessing AB act up and he thought to himself this dudes a problem.

  8. Lesko_Brandon Says:

It’s tough to swallow the loss last night. You gave everything you’ve got and then 1 bonehead call from 1 guy just screws it up for everybody.

  9. LVMYBUCS Says:

Lavonte David’s comments where a nice way of saying we have players in the secondary that suck

  10. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I hope he signs with Tampa!

  11. SOEbuc Says:

Keep your heads up high and look forward to the future true Bucs fans. Remember when we went for 13 years without the playoffs. We made NFL history in Super Bowl LV. Keep that in your heart. We’re going to a lot of good guys, but also going to start to gain guys. I still very much believe in the Glazers and Licht to keep the Bucs a yearly playoff contender with time. Or maybe we will be better and make it back to winning the Super Bowl.

Keep the faith true Buc fans. GO BUCS!!! 🏴‍☠️

  12. Proud Bucs Fan Says:

Take the largest contract Jensen. Because this team is about to implode.

  13. Beeej Says:

You can’t have too many guys like Jensen on your team

  14. PassingThru Says:

He wants to be paid at the market rate.

  15. Mike Says:

The Bucs went for broke but it didn’t work out. Salary cap decisions will have to be made. I don’t see Jensen coming back honestly.

  16. Gofortheface30 Says:

Agree with Tampa bay all day – Jensen is a mountain man, a hunter, likes to go out to his cabin and all that. I’m sure he loves this locker room and Tampa but I can easily see him not resigning if 2022 looks like a rebuild

  17. Listnfrmafar Says:

Probably waiting to see where Brady and Gronk go, same with Godwin.

  18. Tackleblockwin Says:

Regardless if Brady comes back or not we need Jenson to return.

  19. Bucfan81 Says:

I hope we get Jensen back. The guys that really take it personally you want back. Those are the guys that really care and will fight every time out on the field.

  20. Anonymous Says:

    # 24 sucks, way to soft

  21. David Says:

Sounds like as soon as Brady says he’s returning, Gronkowski will sign for one year, Jensen will sign hopefully for a couple years.

  22. Bucs Guy Says:

I want Jensen to stay, but I’m afraid the Bucs could be forced into a Cappa or Jensen decision.
Not sure which they would keep.

  23. kyle Says:

fu&& it, lets mortgage the future like the rams and run it back 1 more time w tom. we need to upgrade cb, dline and linebacker. 45 talks too much and carlton davis is not a cb1. smb is soft in my opinion and is at best a special teams player. Pinion was trash all year.. wtf?? the darden experiment is over, can we fuck@#$% get a kick and punt returner on this team????? Tyler Johnson should be cut, he was a puss%% yesterday.

  24. Steven M. Says:

BA said at his press conference, the problem on their last play was, everyone was supposed to blitz and their was a miscommunication., so not everyone blitzed. What ???
    1. Miscommunication on perhaps the most important play of the
game ? Didn’t the coaches learn from the Jet game. It was 4th and 2 and Wilson went for a quaterback sneak that didn’t work. After the coach said it was miscommunication and it cost them the game
    2. Not double teeming Kupp when the game depended on that play ?
There is no excuse for this petty nonsense. Pray that Brady comes back
so other players will want to come to Tampa.

  25. Francesca Lind Says:

I’m proud of Brady and the Bu cs. What a season! The secondary does need help and free agents want to come here. Good luck to Stafford.

  26. Francesca Lind Says:

Thank you Brady and Bu cs for a great and excitingly season. Free agents want to come here and the secondary will get help. Hoping Stafford goes all of the way

  27. Izod Says:

the Bucs need to retool very quickly… with the mass exodus of quality players, bedrock players you could say, this team may have trouble winning a SINGLE game next season.

  28. Wild Bill Says:

Jensen is a throw back bad ass! His temper is a problem sometimes but he gives it all on every play. Hope he stays.

  29. CalBucsFan Says:

Want you back Jensen, your presence has set the tone of the Bucs frontline and will be sorely missed if you leave. Take care of that ankle, hope to see you back again next season.

  30. LakelandSteve Says:

Love that guy, let’s hope the Bucs re-sign him
