Rondé Barber Calls A Big Bucs Win, Says Tampa Bay Will Throw Its Way To A Romp

January 14th, 2022

Wise Rondé Barber

Few Tampa Bay fans realize that Bucs icon Rondé Barber is a paid gambling guru.

Yes, Barber collects a check from SuperBook Sports to break down and pick choice games every week. Joe finds it fascinating that a guy with gambling ties is a true insider at One Buc Palace and does work for the team. Imagine that happening anywhere three years ago.

In his latest breakdown for SuperBook, Barber says he sees the Bucs cruising Sunday against the Eagles and Tampa Bay will cover the 8 1/2- or 9-point spread.

Barber sees the Bucs throwing and throwing their way to victory, following their 2021 formula.

“They can win at will,” Barber said of the Bucs offense. “This Eagles pass defense is not good. They give up a lot of completions. They don’t give up a bunch of yards. But they give up a lot of completions.”

“People talk about the Bucs offense, they don’t run it because they don’t have to.”

Eagles Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay needs to a massive game locking down Mike Evans for Philadelphia to have a chance, Barber said, noting the Eagles are bottom third in the league in quarterback pressures and hits. He says combine that with the Bucs’ elite pass blocking offensive line and you have a recipe for a Bucs win.

“This is going to be a track meet where [the Eagles] are not going to be able to keep up,” Barber said.

Joe agrees. The Bucs’ strength is their pass blocking line and Brady. Joe suspects the Bucs may throw short a lot and grind out first downs, but they will not hesitate to air it out unless the wind and rain are significant.

  1. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

This game will be like the Washington game of last year in the playoffs. It will be close. I’m not buying what Ronde is saying. He was wrong when we played the Saints. That being said I do hope we curb stomp the Eagles. I can’t stand their fans. Go Bucs!

  2. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Darius Slay will have his hands full with Mike Evans, and the Eagles will have no answer for Gronk.
I agree with Ronde, we will not only win, but we will also cover the spread easily.

  3. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

“Joe agrees.” Jaymiss disagrees. Mother nature will have the final say.

  4. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

It’s going to be really rainy which plays more into the eagles gameplan … Hopefully it’s not just POURING!! Even if it is I think they can out grind them with Fournette and Vaughn and even Bell … I think they are a MUCH better running team then they get credit for!! If they wanted to they could make that the focus of their game!!

  5. David Says:

People keep talking about the weather. Has everyone forgot that Brady has played in wind, snow, sleet, hail, rain, etc. most his career?

The Tampa Bay offense will be fine. It is all about how healthy the defense is. If they stop the run and get after the passer like we know they can, it’s a blowout. If they don’t, it’s closer than we’d like, but the Buccaneers win either way.

    41-17 Statement! LFG

  6. Biff Barker Says:

The Bucs will take whatever the weather and Iggles will allow. I think it comes down to turnovers.

  7. Beeej Says:

I’m thinking Ronde predicted the WFT disaster

  8. Jmarkbuc Says:

Can Ronde come out in full uniform as honorary Captain for the coin toss😂😂😂

  9. lambeau Says:

If Slay covers Evans, Gronk better stay healthy–nobody else can catch.

  10. SB Says:

Who trusts a weather report 72 hours in advance in Florida?
We only have one factor we can believe in and that is the wind.

  11. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Always thought Ronde would make a great NFL GM, maybe the gambling biz is paying a little more for him. Anyone with the info and knowledge that Ronde has for the NFL and being a part of the Vegas gambling scene you have to believe this is a great call by the future HOFer.

  12. Tackleblockwin Says:

Go ahead and call me crazy, but I think we dominate this game. Getting the early lead is the key.

  13. Ex-Pats-Fan Says:

Eagles secondary is key for them. Brady has become pig headed about always passin the ball. As in the last saints game which could have easily been won by just running the ball in the second half as they did have some success running then. He was having no success passing yet he continued.

  14. HC Grover Says:

If the Low moves more North it will be a nice day. Tail end of the front maybe.
Euro model saying It will be in N Alabama and us with S to SW wind right now. GFS saying in S Ga. Worse for us.

  15. Swampbuc Says:

Defense wins championships. Come on, Bowles, get your guys tackling back there If the Bucs can hold the Eagles to under 100 yards rushing and force Hurts to throw, the Bucs can cover the spread,

But the Bucs are a horrible bet as favorites especially when favored by 2 scores.

  16. BillyBucco Says:

Nobody is favoring the Bucs for Super Bowl repeat but they will after this game.
Unless they chalk it up to 2 seeds are supposed to beat 7 seeds.

Either way this IS NOT a good matchup it is a GREAT matchup.
We will have to lose the turnover battle by 3 to lose IMO

Any given Sunday yes, but we won last year on defense and I’m pretty sure Hurts can’t throw from a Superman pose like Maholmes.

  17. '74 Bucs fan Says:

The forecast for the SB last year days before called for heavy rain and wind – which came the night before, leading to a beautiful day. Like BL, I wouldn’t pay much attention to the weather until Saturday.

  18. G.Marosi Says:

Any given Sunday but we are the better team!
Plus I can’t stand Philly fans the worst. #GoBucs

  19. Destinjohnny Says:

Plus we’re playing a high school qb

  20. Saxman Says:

I agree with what most people say today. My only concern is if this team makes it to the the SB(I assume we will) …wait for it TENNESSEE TITANS. They are a scrappers with a great running game (that is if Derrick Henry is healthy) and they have a great coach. Let’s hope we don’t have to face them.
