Mike Evans Thanks Bucs Fans

January 10th, 2022

Homefield advantage.

Joe thought it was interesting noticing how Rams quarterback Matt Stafford was shocked that Los Angeles had to go into road-game mode because there were so many loud 49ers fans in SoFi Stadium.

Joe remembers that happened several times at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway when Dirk Koetter was head coach and in Bucco Bruce Arians’ first season. Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, had to go to a silent count many times.

A silent count — at home.

Well, that’s not an issue any longer. Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians has often praised Bucs fans for how they have piled in and gotten loud for the defense and supportive for the offense.

Mike Evans said last night that Bucs fans are making it simple.

And Evans well remembers the dark days of the Lost Decade.

“The fans have made it so easy for us with the energy that they bring,” Evans said. “It’s something I’m not used to in the past. No offense to the Bucs fans. It was really on us, we weren’t winning, and now we’re winning.

“It looks great out there. I talk to the guys all the time about it. Don’t take it for granted because it could definitely be different. Our fans have
done a hell of a job this year. Hopefully [Raymond James Stadium] will be rocking [on Sunday for the playoff game with the Eagles].

“Hopefully we have the playoffs at home the whole time. That’s what we’re looking for.”

That was cool of Evans to acknowledge that if the Bucs play well, the fans will come.

And it’s really cool for Joe to see that the red crib is once again turning into a homefield advantage

If the D gets healthy, that would make for a good home-field advantage…against a playoff team.

  2. rrsrq Says:

Hopefully there will not be a Philly Green takeover

  3. Dking Says:

Stop trying to make crab man “America’s quarterback”…much like fetch it’s not going to happen

  4. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

I don’t think there will be a Philly eagle green takeover, I am sure there will be a little section of iggle fans on Sunday but should be 95% bucs fans. I really love the 430 sunday games when it gets dark at ray jay and especially this time of the year and it gets cooler out but the bucs at 1pm do play really well so hope they keep it up Sunday

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Raymond James Stadium will be full of Buc fans Sunday……sure, there will be Eagles fans but they will have to pay an enormous price for their tickets…..most Buc ticket holders will got the the game instead of selling them on line…….

    Ray Jay will be rockin’

  6. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

Selmon, Lynch, Brooks, Evans: guys who lived through the Yucks experience, gave to the community, and had HOF careers.

  7. Buddhaboy19 Says:

Hopefully its about 83 degrees and humid and those folks in the middle of winter come down and just melt in the great florida sunshine. …..!!

    Screw the eagles

  8. DoooshLaRue Says:

Thanks for appreciating and acknowledging that ME13.

  9. Jerry Says:

Lots of Eagles fans will be there. I hate all the NFC East teams. But their fans all travel.

  10. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Eagles Fans are legendary for supporting their team.
They are also not as bad as some make them out to be.
I was at the Eagles vs Bucs playoff game at Veterans Stadium in Philly. I was wearing my Orange Bucs Creamsicle Jersey.
My uncle Vito lives in Philly, and I was with my relatives, who are all Eagles Fans. Not one Eagles Fan gave me any sh!t, and one even bought me a Beer!
Expect tons of Eagles Fans Sunday. They love their team, and it is winter up in Philly.

  11. Listnfrmafar Says:

No doubt Evan’s is a class act. Bucs want the 1 PM game. The warmer the better, wear down a team that’s used to playing in temperatures below 50° and low humidity. Philly is.no tomatoe can game. Tell the assistant coaches to stop preparing for interviews and start preparing for games.

  12. BillyBucco Says:

Freaking awesome of Mike to say that.
What a •180 Tampa had done in his time.

Thats the difference between him and most Super Stars.
    He always remembers his roots.

Bring it ME13. We need you balling in the playoffs.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Unfortunately 64 is scheduled to be the high on Sunday….

  14. Wesley Says:

    Mike Evans for President!

  15. Rod Munch Says:

There’s still going to be a lot of Philly Trash at the stadium. I hope all the Bucs fan bring appropriate armor to do battle with those mentally deranged, normally very short, people.

  16. ElioT Says:

Crazy to think that come Sunday, it will have been 5,124 DAYS since the last Buc’s home playoff game (not including the Super Bowl).

    Go Bucs!

  17. Greg Says:

I will not be able to attend this weekend. But PLEASE Bucs fans don’t let the Eagles fan be heard! They are known to have a strong fan presence. Get LOUD this weekend! LFG Bucs!

  18. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Really hoping “Bucs fans” don’t sell out and sell their tickets to the epitome of trash from Philly. Looking forward to getting loud and crazy for our team Sunday afternoon!! GO BUCS!!!!

  19. Mike Johnson Says:

Philly fans are the worst. They will turn on you and their team quicker than an Arizona diamondback rattler.

  20. David Says:

A lot of people don’t realize it’s like that everywhere. If you are not winning year after year after year, The Fanbase diminishes. I got rid of my season tickets a long time ago when Greg Schiano was head coach.
And for those that say Fairweather fan… No, just not willing to spend thousands to watch garbage. I can watch the garbage at home for free.

The Washington Redskins sold out their stadium for decades until they started putting trash on the field. Same with the Giants. Same with the Raiders. Heck even the Yankees and Red Sox at times in the 90s when they sucked were drawing like it was Tropicana Field.

So a big shout out to one of the best Buccaneers ever,
    ME13! LFG!!!

From your mouth to God’s ears….

LFGO!!!!!!!! WE need our boys on D back and well be good to go!! Contain the run with thier QB, we beat them omce we can do it again. Our defense just needs to come out hard and hit them in the mouth!!!! Its playoff time!! Lets get some.creativity going on our offense!!! TAMPA BAY ALL THA WAY

  23. TF Says:

There is no doubt there will be a tiny section of green sprinkled through out but that is not a slight on the Bucs. Reality is Florida is a state of transplants and has been since forever. Those Philly faithful, Yankees in baseball, cheeseheads, etc are now Florida residents so they can mingle together at the stadium and talk about the states that they abandoned for warmer weather. They will be a non factor.

  24. BBro Says:

Butthurt Joe won’t post my truthful words, he’s you kinda guy joe

  25. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

You local Bucs fans better be lighting Stub Hub and Ticket Master up to get all those tickets up and if you have to sell them, only to Buc fans unless you can scurge a Phillthy fan for all their green then that would be understandable. Forego those 10 cases of Milwaukie’s best you planned to drink next month or pawn some of your guns or any number of ways to scratch up the loot like mortgaging you mobile home. As much as they charge for concessions the Glazers should take 10000 tickets and have a Bucs fan lottery. Make it like that 2003 9ers game,. That was a beautiful sight seeing all those flags flying proudly!

  26. Jerry Says:

    It’s not just transplants that’s the problem….
There are right now tons of re-sales available on ticket master. First home playoff game since 2007 and everyone trying to score some dough.
    That’s unfortunate.

Weather won’t be much advantage either. Forecast high is only 61.

  27. TampabayDJ82 Says:

As long as we don’t sell half our tickets to the Philly scum !! I WAS AT THE BILLS GAME AND IT WAS AT LEAST HALF BUFFALO FAN’S !! IT WAS SAD , BUT THEN AWESOME WHEN BRADY HIT PERRIMAN FOR THE GAME WINNER !! GO BUCS AND HOPEFULLY NO MORE INJURIES, AND HOPEFULLY THE RETURNING FROM INJURIES PLAYERS ARE FULL GO !! BUCS 34 – PHILLY SCUM 10
