“I’m Takin’ The Bucs At The Crib Minus-3”

January 19th, 2022

Confident

Former Bucs, Broncos, Patriots and great Aqib Talib is now a busy man in the broadcast world, but not too busy to remember heading to a Super Bowl as a Rams cornerback in 2019.

Still, despite his love for the Rams and how they are running the ball and “look primed for a Super Bowl run,” Talib insisted on his Call To The Booth podcast that he is not betting against Tom Brady and “I’m takin’ the Bucs at the crib Minus-3.”

The crib, of course, is The Licht House, where the Bucs have won 11 of their last 12 games.

The Rams are 7-2 on the road this season, the losses were back-to-back November games to the 49ers and Packers. Including the playoffs, the Rams were 5-5 on the road last season.

Joe firmly believes the Bucs’ home field advantage is real and greatly will help the team start fast and pressure Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to perform on a big stage in hostile territory. Rams fans don’t travel well, especially not cross-country on short notice, so Joe is expecting a real road challenge for the Rams offense.

And unlike in Week 3, the Bucs shouldn’t be playing Dee Delaney at cornerback while Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting watch from the bench.

  2. Bird Says:

Got to be loud this weekend when rams on offense

I will be there. Dont plan on having my voice on monday

  3. SlyPirate Says:

    SUNDAY-SUNDAY-SUNDAY!!!!

BRING THE NOISE! BE THE HOMEFIELD ADVANTAGE!

We’ll sell you the whole seat BUT YOU’LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE!!!

(BTW, Super cool of the Rams to get Buffer to launch that game.)

  4. Dew Says:

Gronk missed most of the last game against the Rams after getting hurt. Plus AB didn’t play. So much depends on if all our OL can play well. Hoping for some turnovers too. A pick 6 would be awesome. Go Bucs.

  5. BA4President Says:

My nerves for this game are going to be through the roof come Sunday. I already feel like I’m gonna throw up.

And if the Niners beat the Packers, then it makes the situation that much more intense, because a Super Bowl victory is so much closer… as long as we don’t lose to the Rams.

  6. Dking Says:

Good time for Brate and Howard to step up

  7. Bucs&Bolts Says:

I’ll be right there in sec 147 screaming my ass off… I was sad last Sunday we didn’t cause any false starts but we definitely will this Sunday ! LETS GO BUCS!

  8. Tackleblockwin Says:

Bring the noise like back in the day when we played the Lions in 1997 in the Big Sombrero. That was the loudest Bucs game I ever attended. It was insane lol.

  9. adam from ny Says:

bucs are gonna find a way to win this one…

i basically called the score on last weeks game, with also the potential of a blow out and both kind of came true…

i think the bucs find a way to advance in front of a crazy sauced up crowd

  10. E.Vi. Says:

BUCS 38 RAMS 0. BOWLES BRINGS IT ON STAFFORD NOWHERE TO RUN NOWHERE TO HIDE!! MISERABLE DAY FOR STAFFORD AND THE RAMS!! LUCKY IF RAMS SCORE 3. WERE NOT ARIZONA. IT LOOKED LIKE ARIZONA WAS LOST AND CONFUSED. BRADY AND COMPANY ARE GOING TO SHOW EVERYONE HOW IT IS AND HOW IT’S GONNA BE ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPERBOWL!! BUCS VS BILLS??

  11. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

Was at the last game vs Eagles and lost my voice. It’s about back just in time to be loud again against the Rams! Might see some fire shooting out. Go Bucs!

  12. adam from ny Says:

the loudest i ever saw the stadium was when shaun king drove the bucs down the field with warrick dunn to beat the rams on monday night football the year after the “bert emmanuel rule” game…the stadium was not only loud, but reverberating and shaking on a richter scale level from everyone jumping around…

that night the stadium was bouncing and moving like a los angeles car in an easy e or snoop dog video…

I live in LA. Rams fans don’t travel well because they don’t exist. Rams fans exist to buy tickets and sell them. Or brag about their seats.

  14. Annapope1 Says:

I’m scared for the players safety on this one. They hurt Gronk last time and almost paralyzed someone on Monday! Not cool! The Rams coach is hungry and has something to prove against Brady for losing the Superbowl to the Patriots.

  15. SB Says:

Bucs beat the Rams. 9ers beat the Pack.
    NFCG in Tampa!!!

  16. James Says:

Pretty sure I read it in a different thread but with the Oline hurt, Tom Brady is going to have to the quick slant a lot. Gronk, Brate and Howard better be ready. Look for a Scotty Miller sighting on offense as well.

  17. bucschamp Says:

rams fans already looking forward to Green Bay or 49ers. they are a confident bunch.

  18. TampabayDJ82 Says:

The Bucs are playing great football and they were going into the playoffs !! EVERYONE was talking about how the Rams were inconsistent going into the playoffs , but they beat up on a crappy Arizona team and now EVERYONE jump’s on the Rams bandwagon ?? Gtfoh 😂🤣 !! Brady’s bunch will be ready for ANYONE !! As long as our defense holds up the way they have been the last 5-6 weeks , Bucs WIN ! 34-21 BUCS AND I DON’T CARE IF WE HAVE TO GO TO GREEN BAY ! I WANT TO BEAT Scaring Aaron and send him over the deep end ! Go Bucs

  19. SB~LV Says:

Happy to see he has matured

  20. bucschamp Says:

one guys quote from the rams site

“This game seems to favor the Bucs. Rams must play close to the line of scrimmage on defense and take away or limit those short throws.
Rams MUST commit to the run, mix in deep play action passes.
I love our Rams, but I objectively see this as:
    Bucs 30
    Rams 23
“ On short passes to the middle, the Rams have allowed the highest completion percentage (80.2) in the NFL and rank 28th in average gain allowed (7.9 yards). On short passes to the left, right and middle, the Rams have allowed at least a 68.2 completion percentage.

Not the numbers you want ahead of a matchup with quick-passing maestro Tom Brady. Brady’s average time to throw (2.48 seconds) is his fastest in the NGS era and trails only Ben Roethlisberger among all quarterbacks this season. Last week against Philadelphia, Brady had a 2.17-second time to throw, his fastest ever recorded by NGS. TB12’s ability to get the ball out quickly helps to negate opposing pass rushes (ranks first in pressure rate), even one as fierce as the Rams’. ”

    he’s spot on

Great description of that cold Monday night. Best home game in Buc history.

    Well done.

  22. Steven007 Says:

    Bucs champ, good Intel.

  23. Ben green Says:

For the first time in Ben’s life, I’m betting against Thomas Edward Brady. Coaching advantage, easily Rams. Get to the QB with 4, Rams. Playmaking recievers, Rams. Defense, Rams in a runaway. The only two discernable advantage the bucs have is at QB, and run defense. The second one won’t matter as it didn’t in the first matchup. The Rams aren’t exactly going to run on first and second down. It all comes down to the deflater in chief, and how quickly he can get rid of the ball. They’ll crashes down on Evans and gronk, so Brady will need to trust others to get open. Sorry bucs fans, but you heard it from Ben first, Rams 28-bucs 24

  24. David Says:

The office is looking extremely hobbled. The defense is going to have to step up Bigley

  25. Pewter Power Says:

Hope the defense has a revenge factor on their minds. I would love to see a monster game from two of our three tight ends. Just don’t let brady get destroyed like they are playing the saints and we’ll have a chance

  26. Buc1987 Says:

I’m soooooo nerved up about this game.

I don’t see a Bucs win…but we have Brady and I see that.

    Bucs 31 Rams 30 in a squeeker.

If not oh well…bring TB12 back for another season pllllease!

  27. Buc1987 Says:

Oh and Ben green is NOT a Bucs fan…as well as Listnfrmafar.

You 2 can go away…you won’t be missed.

  28. Izod Says:

Take the Rams STRAIGHT UP. This one won’t be close, I see the Rams in a laugher winning by at least 4 TDs

  29. Deano Says:

Adam …I was at that bucs/rams game on the Eastside 5 rows down from the top (NOSEBLEED) section I thought the stadium was going to crumble from the shaking.we won 38 -35

  30. adam from ny Says:

    @Jmarkbuc and @Deano :

yeah man, glad you guys were in the building too…so i guess that night was wild, special, and an engrained memory for any true bucs fan that experienced it…

now i remember the cold too!…i had on my new york winter coat in the stands…i forgot all about the cold…

i have been to many memorable bucs games since then, but never did the stadium rock like that ever again…

    at least not yet 🙂

that final drive if i recall correctly was the shaun king, warrick dunn and reidel anthony show…and mad scrambles by king!…one for the ages
