“Built To Repeat”

January 11th, 2022

Biggest answer.

Though the Bucs looked pretty good in the second half Sunday, there have been enough cracks in the Bucs’ armor to wonder if a playoff team might just turn those cracks into an implosion.

We all know about the missing Bucs. No need to recount them all, but you could have a nice team just with those missing players and a bunch of spare parts.

One thing is not missing and that is Bucs quarterback Tom Brady. Jeff Chadiha of NFL.com is of the mind Brady is the most important piece of all — of all the playoff teams.

What’s to like: The Bucs have the greatest quarterback in NFL history in Tom Brady. … …The offense and defense both rank in the top 10 in the league in scoring, and the Bucs have won seven of their last eight games. This team was built to repeat. This is the time of year it’s been waiting for.

Well, Joe isn’t sure the Bucs were built to repeat based on Tyler Johnson and the immortal Cyril Grayson or Breshad Perriman as starting receivers. Joe won’t even get into the injured defenders.

The great equalizer is Brady. So long as the offensive line holds up and Brady has time to throw, who do you trust more with the ball in his hands?

We weren’t sure last yr either Joe

  2. David Says:

Looks like Lenny is coming back fully healthy. I am not worried about the offense as much as I am the defense.
It is all about stopping the run and rushing the passer. Getting Shaq and JPP back is a good start but they really need LVD as well

  3. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

Has anyone checked on Medicated Pete?

  4. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    – Playoff Lenny is an over-used, over-rated player in this offense

    – The defense got more holes in it than Swiss cheese 🧀

    – Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr needs to stop acting 🎬 like Captain 😒 check ✔ down and pass the ball longer than 5 yards

…….you all say what you want….but this Defense is awful right now

Haha. Sweet we have comments from you. You usually only come out after a loss. Dude you are never right. Brady leads the league in almost every major category:

    Yards / tds/ completions / points
Set pretty much every buc single season record this year

Oh and record for completions over 20 yards …meaning downfield

Dude if i give you 10 bucks, will you go back into mommy’s basement until next year. I mean why do you even bother saying brady has a noodle arm and watch out for jeff dryskel to best him. And have bucs in your name ? Did you eat paint chips as a kid?

    🤡 💩👇💊

  6. Bird Says:

Not sure bucs can pull off with all their injuries. Defense and Especially their star studded once receiving group

But if one guy can do it …its brady…
Rewatched the carolina game and he was throwing 25-35 yard dimes all game. Dude still can make 99% of the throws. Been fun to watch.

    @SB – that’s true.

Although I think our defense had already tightened up at this point, besides that 1st half against Atlanta.

The issue this year is the injuries. JPP, Shaq and LVD is a lot to overcome. I think SHaq will be alright when he comes back but I don’t expect much from JPP. David is the bug mystery IMO, and clearly we need him most of all.

  8. unbelievable Says:

    *big mystery.

    Dang phone

  9. Sparky Says:

Did anyone think it was weird that in garbage time of that Carolina game we brought in Scotty and ran those end arounds? Why didn’t we save that for the playoffs? Or did we want to put that on film so we can fake it in the playoffs and catch them off guard?

  10. bucschamp Says:

we can repeat but we need more luck this time around

  11. Crickett Baker Says:

BA said we would be getting tons of starters back. Even Greyson isn’t as bad as he thought. But imo and in others’ defense wins games. We may very well be getting LaVonte back. The def may tighten up. I felt a few weeks ago that the Slackers were the only team that could beat the Bucs. But I hope none can.

A random fun fact I found while looking for something else…

The Buccaneers have the 4th highest point differential, of all time, in the Super Bowl…

    1. Cowboys, 5-3, 0.625 win percentage, +89 points
    2. 49ers, 5-2, 0.714 win percentage, +85 points
    3. Packers, 4-1, 0.800 win percentage, +57 points
    4. Buccaneers, 2-0, 1.000 win percentage, +49 points

Note: The Patriots are, 6-5, .545 win percentage, -36 points

Also… Out of teams to win multiple titles, only the Ravens and Buccaneers are undefeated in the SB.

And what does that have to do with the upvoming playoffs? Absolutely nothing. Looking at past results is why most Super Bowl champs don’t repeat.

How’s your saints doing? By the way I believe Brady had five passes over 20yds last game more facts please!

  15. Bucsfanman Says:

I like our chances. Yes, we have a ton of injuries but we STILL have a ton of talented players at key positions.
And, lets be honest, not to overlook them but we can beat the Eagles. Like last year, knock ’em down one at a time!

  16. Eddie Marz Says:

Brady had a great run with The Patriots. Every year they were in the running or actually won. Enjoy it my friends, this won’t last forever. GOBUCS!

  17. Listnfrmafar Says:

The biggest challenge is if Bucs get through the first two games and GB is still around (which would.be awesome if they weren’t) playing in Lambeau in freezing temperatures. Brady and Gronk were used to it but not sure about now, even Bell has played his career in these temperatures. It’s Evan’s and the younger receivers even Lenny I worry about. The ball bounces a whole lot differently in cold weather.

  18. Ed Says:

Listnfrmafar: You are getting way ahead of yourself. There is a playoff game in Tampa, Green Bay isn’t playing this week and when they do play after their first seed bye, even if the Bucs win vs Philadelphia, there will be a lower seed than the Bucs that will play at Green Bay so don’t worry about the future, watch the game on Sunday, thats all that counts in Tampa for now.

The Bucs offense vs the Eagles defense is very much in the Buc’s favor even without Godwin and Brown, there is still more firepower for the Eagles to deal with. Brady has been stellar lately and is playoff ready.

The Bucs defense can keep the Eagles under 20 points by playing stout against the run. Jaylon Hurts is the Eagles offense and he is the leading rusher. If you keep him in the pocket he has a limited amount of weapons to throw to. I expect him to throw short and try and get the ball out fast.

Bucs run defense will be much better than we’ve seen with Barrett and Pierre-Paul back so as long as they limit the running game to short 3/4 yard runs, the Bucs will come out with a win.

  19. Anonymous Says:

Bell played in Pittsburgh and please check your geography, it gets cold there, now lets beat philly!! Defense step up , hit them hard dont give them an inch. Take away thier strengths exploit thier weakness. They use the run game alot so lets stop that. LFGO!!! TAMPA BAY ALL THE WAY

  20. Listnfrmafar Says:

Anonymous, reading is fundamental. If you have trouble with comprehension, maybe there is a twelve year old in your neighborhood that could help. Read it again, I state Bell has played in cold weather.

  21. ocala Says:

Completely disagree with Joe. Brady has won several Super Bowls with less talented offenses. He has already made Perriman and Grayson look like stars this year.

  22. Listnfrmafar Says:

Ocala, I am a huge Brady fan but that catch Perriman made Sunday was all him.

  23. SlyPirate Says:

It will come down to the Packers and Bucs, again.

Cowboys – Always find a way to lose
Rams – Stafford has never won a playoff game
Cardinals – Wheels came off a month ago
    49ers – Garrapalo isn’t good enough
Eagles – No wins against teams +.500

  24. ocala Says:

    Completely agree SlyPirate

BucsAnthem – Your one of those fakeass fans I been talking about ALL YEAR !!
The Bucs Defense has steadily climbed up the charts ALL YEAR and they make the CORRECT ADJUSTMENTS anytime they had to. Last game was a perfect example , they made the right adjustment and DOMINATED the entire second half of the game !! People like you will NEVER be happy with what we have !! They win the Super Bowl again and you will still find something to complain about ! Last time I checked , we finished with THE BEST RECORD IN THE NFL and the best offense in the NFL !! GO BUCS
