Bucs Getting Good Vibes From Playoff Lenny

January 5th, 2022

Playoff ready?

With all the Antonio Brown nonsense, how about refreshing news for a change, eh?

Late yesterday afternoon, Dianna Russini put her ear to the ground and Twittered out what she’s hearing about Playoff Lenny.

The Bucs running back blew a hamstring and was placed on the injured reserve list, which meant he had to sit out the final three regular-season games. Per Russini, the Bucs feel good about Playoff Lenny’s recovery.

As for linebacker Lavonte David, that may be a bit different. Russini is hearing cautious optimism about David’s return for the playoffs. In other words, her Bucs source is using that scary four-letter word “hope.” Joe already reported that David will miss Round 1 of the playoffs with his Lisfranc injury.

After watching the lowlife Jets move the ball on the Bucs on Sunday, Joe is starting to think the Bucs miss David badly.

Any good news is good news at this point.

  2. lunchmeat Says:

I agree with your concern about LVD. “You can’t coach speed”, and Kevin Minter doesn’t have it anymore.

  3. Bucs&Bolts Says:

    Minter is toast

  4. BigPoppaBuc Says:

My biggest concern about the injuries like this one is the game plans. The coaches need to prepare for life with and without the returning guys. Lenny was a central part of our offense when he went down, and even more so without Godwin. But if that hammy blows in the second quarter of the playoff game there’s got to be a plan.

Same goes for LVD and Shaq. Jets exposed their absence and other teams will do the exact same thing. Stretch runs to either catch the edge or cut back. The ailing stars of this team have put some big time pressure on these coaches. Can they get us back?

  5. Izod Says:

The Bucs should just not play the Saints anymore. They not only manhandled our coaches intellectually, they sent a bunch of our best players to the hospital.

  6. Rod Munch Says:

Missing David is one of the reasons I don’t think people should think facing a run first Eagles team is going to be a walk in the park.

Good news on Fournette though, hopefully he can pick up right where he left off. They’re going to need all the help they can get now that you’re starting WRs are Evans with a hamstring injury and practice squad signee Grayson. It’s amazing how the biggest strength of the team is now a huge question mark.

  7. BBro Says:

As a team we’re a crippled thoroughbred with distractions of rodeo clowns

  8. Bucsfanman Says:

If we’re missing LVD for any games in the playoffs, Bowles is going to have to get creative and our offense will need to be more balanced.

Getting Lenny back is great news.

  9. TiredBucsFan Says:

Give KJ a shot this week, can’t be worse than Minter

  10. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

I’d like to see the Bucs use KJ Britt at LB in place of Minter this weekend to see what he has got going in to the playoffs.

  11. DG060 Says:

Just another day in Buc land. I see the useless Richard Sherman is hurt again. Why is he on this team? He gets hurt going to the bathroom. Pathetic.
We have alot of brittle football players.
Tom Brady is a magician. Getting 12 wins with this team is amazing. We would be 7-10 w/o him.

  12. Jersey buc Says:

Need shaq back probably more. Jpp also I know he’s hurt and not himself. Thst D was really bad last week. I know there is a lot of injuries on that side on the front. It showed. Gotta be able to pressure and stay in your gaps for the run. David is def missed. Dude has been a stud for so long. Just a football player!
Am good letting these guys get an extra week of rest for there injuries.

  13. HC Grover Says:

That will be 4 weeks of healing time. He will be back for the playoffs and so will Evans. We will be w/o Brown and Godwin But we will have Gronk.

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

F the Saints, I don’t think the number work out where Bucs would play them but if they do, kick their arse and get that monkey of their backs.

  15. Wild Bill Says:

Call me crazy but I would like to see Tryon get some practice at linebacker next to White. And some game time reps when the Bucs have a big lead against a weak opponent like the next game. With his speed and athletic ability and length he could be awesome at the second level.

  16. Rico210 aka wutdaBucisthis Says:

Wild Bill, while it sounds good as I wouldn’t mind seeing that. JTS has a problem maintaining his edge and/or gap. Could get his ankles broken in theopen field in coverage. With his speed and length could be insane in coverage

  17. Allbuccedup Says:

KJ Britt definitely needs to see more action Sunday.

  18. unbelievable Says:

Of course they miss David dearly.

He’s the heart and soul of the defense, and helps the d-lind, OLBs and ILBs (Devin White) all play better.
