Bruce Arians Has Updates On Bucs Injuries

January 21st, 2022

Bucco Bruce Arians.

As Joe is typing this here post, it is nearly 48 hours from go-time. Kickoff against the Rams is right around the corner.

And it seems Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians is trying to squeeze every minute of that 48-hour window hoping Bucs right tackle Tristan Wirfs and center Ryan Jensen can heal enough to play (effectively).

Per Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, wide receiver Breshad Perriman and running back Ronald Jones were the only two players who did not practice.

Jensen and Wirfs, however, were held out of team drills as a precautionary measure.

So as of now, there is still a chance the Bucs could have their starting offensive line intact Sunday.

  1. Chris Boyd Says:

i love the idea of tristan trying to fight his way back, but he has to be a better option than the alternative, or i hope he doesn’t play. wirfs at 65percent may not be better than wells, or whoever we put there. i dont want wirfs just for the sake of havng him

  2. adam from ny Says:

    i think we’re gonna take ’em………….bucs 34 rams 24…

    jot it down peoples…

a exact reversal of the last game’s score

  3. Adrnagy Says:

Jensen and wirfs wont miss this game. Perhaps they wont finish it but they will give it all they have.

Perriman needs to play to stretch field. Scotty miller needs to show up

  4. adam from ny Says:

if it’s a low ankle sprain it’s possible he’s back sunday, or next week if we advance…

but with a high ankle sprain isn’t he done for a while…like the season basically…that’s the severe ankle sprain of the two…

i thought the diagnosis is high ankle sprain…

    did i miss something?

  5. adam from ny Says:

john brown needs to become cyril grayson 🙂

  6. unbelievable Says:

Ugh, I can’t believe Perriman is out too.

Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller don’t scare anyone.

  7. Listnfrmafar Says:

In Bray’s last 3 games against Rams he’s scored 24 (garbage time) 17 & 13, an average of 18 points / gm. I don’t see 34 points with back up wr’s. It’s up to the D the O ain’t putting up 30 to save teams arses.

  8. Casual Observer Says:

    Grayson may play.

  9. Jmarkbuc Says:

I thought the interloper pledged to leave..

    Surprise..surprise.

  10. adam from ny Says:

mom said: “we gotta throw the kitchen sink at these rams”

i said: “ma, we’ve got vita vea”

she said: “exactly son, he’s the kitchen sink”

  11. Swampbuc Says:

OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE

  12. Boston Tommy Says:

In Tom we trust. BUCS 34 -17

  13. All Hail JPP Says:

If Wells starts at RT.. Brady will get killed.. pray to the injury gods Wirfs get better .. zero chance Jensen is missing this game.. he won’t allow it. 🙂

  14. Fishhawkbuc Says:

Let’s go BUCS!!!! We will win with whomever we put out on the field.

  15. zzbucs Says:

    @unbelievable

    Your are really wrong!!!!

  16. Raj Pannu Says:

If Wirfs can’t go and Wells becomes a liability to me it’s a no brainer to move Cappa to RT (he played tackle in college) and bring Stinnie in at guard where he was great for us last year.

  17. Joe in Michigan Says:

    Jmarkbuc: Who is the “interloper”?

  18. Nick2 Says:

Hard to believe Wirfs is progressing nicely unless he’s just damn young injuries heal quick but I was damn good to hear. Also I’m guessing Cyril Graysons back???? That would be huge if he can make it the whole game and be effective and the same for Wirfs!!!

  19. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bucs better play physical football! Can they do that? They can’t play finesse and they have to take shots down the field.

  20. Francisco Guzman Says:

Who the hell is playing receiver after evans? Johnson and Miller? That’s disappointing. Can those guys step up? This is the game where these guys have to step up otherwise it will be difficult moving the football.

  21. SB~LV Says:

Hacksaw Reynolds played with a broken leg.
I can only imagine how much tape and carbon fiber splints nerve blocks… Wirfs is a WARRIOR!
Gotta be able to run the ball against the Rams!

  22. Mike Johnson Says:

We will be OK. But we gotta get Physical and smash mouth. The D gotta play like a..Bunch of wild dogs and hit Stafford repeatedly. The Rams D will be coming. Its gonna be close But I do believe we can prevail.

  23. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Joe in Michigan

    Listen closely

  24. Duane Says:

Feature the run, and take advantage of the backups the Rams have at safety with play action. Neither team is getting to 30. Both teams are going to look to reduce the amount of the possessions in the game, so the game should be close and in the low to mid 20s. 23-15 Bucs.

  25. Smashsquatch Says:

All hands on deck, every O-lineman better be ready to start or come off the bench.

  26. Dew Says:

John Browns nickname is Smoke. He’s quick.

  27. BradyBucs Says:

The only way I see us winning this very tough match-up…

SCORE FIRST AND HOLD A LEAD. That’s it.

We can’t get stuck playing from being the Rams in trying to catch up on the scoreboard. Do that and we’re most likely TOAST and the season comes to an end.

  28. John Herb Says:

Keep Gronk in to block he won’t let his BFF get hurt. If the O line holds up jump outside for quick check down

  29. Ryan K Says:

Wirfs will play. Rams starting LT is OUT.

Bucs whole starting D should play together for first time. Rams without 2 top safeties.

McVay felt a cold shiver down his spine today.

  30. Cobraboy Says:

    So no real update.

The two OL were at practice but didn’t do anything.

  31. SOEbuc Says:

How stupid could the Bucs be to put Wirfs in against Rams. Their dumbazz’ let him go back in vs Philly. Jensen will go.

  32. Zwak Says:

    Both will play no worries..

  33. LakelandSteve Says:

If it’s really a high ankle sprain it would be something short of a miracle if Wirfs’ is able to play an be effective. Most people could not walk without a limp if they just sustained a high ankle sprain a week ago. We need both Jenson and Wirfs if we want to have a good shot at winning the game.

  34. Dyno-White ! # 45 Says:

This is a crazy time. I think the Bucs should just have the training staff do the press conferences. Sitting with Covid , but much more concerned with Wirf’s foot than my cough

  35. TampabayDJ82 Says:

SOEbuc- How stupid are you for saying that they shouldn’t play Wirfs against the RAMS ?? If the SEASON is on the line , WHY WOULD YOU WANT YOUR BEST LINEMAN OUT ?? There is no NEXT WEEK IF WE LOSE !! Anyway , the DEFENSE is going to be all healthy , and I will point out the Bucs didn’t have SMB or Carlton Davis last time they played the Rams !! As long as we have our OLINE , I’m not worried about the RAMS !! They limped into the playoffs and won a few games against crappy teams that beat themselves.. GO BUCS

  36. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

There’s no tomorrow. Wirf’s & Jensen will start. Like to see Scotty & Johnson have a big day.

  37. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

I think Vaughn played just as well last game really!! I was surprised!

  38. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

I would put cappa out there and stinnie in the guard … Cappa knows how to play tackle and is fast enough to play it!! I don’t know why they wouldn’t take that over Wells!! Wells SUCKS!!

  39. Matt Ware Says:

I certainly agree that Wells isn’t ready for Primetime, place Stinnie in at guard, therefore the primary focus of the offense should be protecting TB12 which is Priority One. I can see us either using a package which includes OJ Howard in Max Protection, or maybe even putting a 6th O-Lineman in Goal Line AND using our RB in protection also. one thing holds true in Life as well as Football which is the the only “thing constant is Change”, let’s See how creative BL can be with making the proper adjustments to slow down an aggressive Rams D Front in this particular  circumstance, in order to move on to the next Challenge. Don’t become too complacent in this situation, Adjusting Sudden Change is part of Remaining Champion, “It’s Not What Happens, It’s How You Handle What Happens”. GO BUCS!!
