Big Game Mike Evans

January 16th, 2022

Sets playoff record.

Joe had an idea this may happen.

With the Bucs down Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown, and flavor of the month Cyril Grayson, Joe thought the smart way to go would be to feed Mike Evans early and often. And that’s just what the Bucs and Tom Brady did.

Evans caught 9 balls for 117 yards. It is a new franchise postseason record.

Joe’s favorite play? It was the kill shot to advance to the division round next week giving the Bucs a second playoff home game, the first time since 1979 the Bucs will have two home playoff games.

After Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett made a leaping pick of Jalen Hurts (Shaq looked like he was skying for a defensive rebound) — “He looked healthy as hell when he was running,” Bucco Bruce Arians said of Shaq’s return — Brady and the Bucs decided to put the game away.

On first down Brady threw to the left and hit Evans deep.

“That was a dime he threw to Mike!” Arians said.

Evans outfought an Eagles defender and crossed the goal line for a 31-0 lead

Game, set, match.

In the playoffs, the big games, the big players shine. And Evans was true to his talent.

He Sucks!. Nowhere Near as good as AB! We should trade him now while we can get something for him. NO YAC. Alligator arms. Etc. Etc.
    True football savants some are!

  2. BitcoinTom Says:

HES HOF FOR SURE! LETS GO MIKE!

  3. Swampbuc Says:

    Nostradamus Joes!

  4. David Says:

He ran some great routes, getting in and out of breaks, from the slot and out wide. He came up huge, not surprisingly. I was surprised at why him or Gronk were not double teamed a lot more.
    Awesome game.!!

  5. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

    That’s the Boss!

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

As long as we have Gronk & Evans with a healthy Oline & Brady……we’ll score points.

  7. firethecannons Says:

he’s all legs and arms! awesome foot work and needs to stop doing back flips in the endzone!

  8. cmurda Says:

Well said. Like I said before grateful to have Evans. Very. Grateful to have Brady for what it’s worth also.

  9. ModHairKen Says:

Mike Evans, now that was a HUGE game! Notice he doesn’t stop across the middle like 18. He takes the hit and gets up and laughs it off. EVERYONE else’s game is elevated by Mike Evans.

    What a game.

  10. Listnfrmafar Says:

SB, Evan’s played great but c’mon he isn’t as good as AB. Where was Evan’s the first time they played Philly. Surprised didn’t see Bell all day not even during garbage time. WTF with putting Wirf back in and playing LVD half way if not longer through 4th qtr. JPP is done, doesn’t seem like can even run any more need to see more Nelson. Great call to close out game 4 & 2 sweep to Wells side.

  11. JimmyJack Says:

Mike played widout and in the slot today.

Thats huge moving forward because we can move him around to get him more looks.

Awesome gameplan from Byron. They had no answers for us.

  12. DBS Says:

But remember. “Brady does not trust Mike Evans”.

  13. Francisco Guzman Says:

Evans one man show. They will need more than 1 guy next week i feel. Can’t depend on one guy. Need the johnsons and the perrimans of the world to step up.

  14. BadBuc Says:

    Mike is good.

  15. Swampbuc Says:

Boron did what I was hoping. Evans in the slot and in motion.

    Duh.

    Keep it up Leftwurst!

  16. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

I loved the flip into the end zone.

  17. Buczilla Says:

I expect nothing less from the best offensive player that we have ever drafted.

  18. JimmyJack Says:

Guzman lay off the sauce. 10 recievers caught balls today.

You dont want Johnson or Perriman being your top reciever. If that happens you in trouble.

You need you backups doing what they just did. Chip in key catches for 1st downs while Brady spreads it around. Get 1st downs and give more chanses for you big time players to make big plays. Maybe next week Gronk goes off.

  19. orlbucfan Says:

ME13 blows Antonio baffybrained Brown head case out of the water. Got a few major idiots on here saying the opposite.

  20. JimmyJack Says:

Maybe you get a big play from Miller/Grayson or just give him a little toss to pick up another 1st down.

Either way you need to be looking mostly for your HOF players to do the heavy lifting.

  21. John Collins Says:

I like that red sash look Evans has looks extra special as he scores

  22. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Looks like ME13 and TB12 are beginning to develop a little more chemistry out of necessity.

  23. Weebs10 Says:

I’m always amazed that anyone would doubt Mike Evans. Class on and off the field his entire career (yes, including his Lattimore cheap shot because that was hilarious) and is 100% a HOFer.

  24. SB Says:

As I have said before Listn. You are the Village Idiot here. ABs numbers in no way match Mikes and he played on better teams. Keep sucking on that jock strap he gave you one day.
Mike will be in the Hall of Fame. AB……..Hall of Shame!
You amaze me the way you keep your stance. Keep ’em coming. They are hilarious takes

  25. Miller5252 Says:

I hope his YPG go up each week and he ends up with over 200 in the Super Bowl. Too bad that he dropped that second TD in the first half, would have made it an even better game for him. Now that it’s just him Brady doesn’t have to worry about hurting anyones feelings when he’s only passing to Gronk and Evans. By the end of this run, Evans and Brady will be on the same page and their chemistry will be as good as Brady and Gronk!! The NFL better watch out if that happens!

  26. Coburn Says:

Could definitely be the defenses we have played, but until the injuries our offense has looked better since ab threw his fit and we circles the wagons.

  27. Mike Says:

All the talk in the preseason about how Mike Evans was in the best shape of his life and dominating have come full circle, and now he’s dominating in the playoffs! Stay healthy Mike, please!

  28. FrankPillow Says:

ME13 and CG14 are outstanding players and even better teammates. It has been a treat to watch Mike develop into more than just a jump ball guy. MUCH MUCH more!

  29. Aceofaerospace Says:

Sorry Joes. I guess I crossed the line. But I meant it.

  30. Listnfrmafar Says:

SB, Mike Evan’s is a great receiver, never said he wasn’t but if AB wasn’t such a dip shat he would’ve broke a ton of records. Evan’s said it himself he struggles in zone coverage, AB can beat both. AB is history no need to bring up the dead. But you can’t tell me if his was on the team you wouldn’t feel better about next week.

  31. BuccoDav Says:

Wait… who wanted to draft Manziel in the first round instead of Evans?

  32. Rod Munch Says:

    Listnfrmafar – retardsayswhat?

  33. unbelievable Says:

But I thought Tom didn’t trust him.

And I thought Mike wasn’t good at no inch the chains.

And that Mike can’t be a #1 WR

And I heard he’s overrated because of low YAC

At least, this is what I’ve been told but a few of the morons around here…

  34. unbelievable Says:

    *moving the chains

  35. Aceofaerospace Says:

I’ll admit it, I was one of those dumbasses that wanted to draft Manzel over Evans. I’m glad no one listened to me. Whew.!

  36. SB Says:

    @ace
Tell me anything ma’am that you thought I said that was dumb.
I challenge you though I know you will never answer because you can’t intelligently.
ME will go to the HOF. AB not so much. Heck TO hasn’t made it yet and you think AB will? Is that what you thought was dumb?
Funny as heck when someone attacks someone with no points to make.
    Childish

    ………..

LOL nvm. You made my point for me

  38. Listnfrmafar Says:

Rod, congratulations that was the first post you made that wasn’t 10 paragraphs long. That means I finally read one. It’s obvious by your post you were dropped on your head as a child.

  39. SB Says:

    Listn……..What is your best ability?
AB is a POS waste of human flesh. If you are saying that he is physically more talented I agree. MEANS SQUAT if you can’t stay on the field because you are an Ahole. Mike Evans will continue to break records and continue to be a role model for young kids and adults alike. Meanwhile AB will fade into one of those “what if” stories. WRs are graded on what they do for their TEAM. I, for the life of me can’t understand why you keep this argument alive. It is NO contest if you ask any fan of any team which WR they would want for their team.

  40. SB Says:

AB released by the Steelers, Patriots, Raiders, and Tampa
ME Buccaneer for life headed to the HOF
    No contest IMO
Teams don’t get rid of Great players unless they have to.

  41. Listnfrmafar Says:

SB if you’re talking about Evan’s as a player and leader without doubt I agree 100% and would rather have him on my team than a untrustworthy AB. I was talking talent and it’s not far off.

  42. SB Says:

I concur Listn. Time to bury the hatchet.

  43. SB Says:

how in hades could that last comment go into mod?

  44. stpetebucsfan Says:

    @List

Potential and amazing skill does not win football games. Being a horrible teammate on multiple teams is the sign of a cancer that isn’t worth that talent or amazing skill.

If you were in the trenches and the best shot in the platoon decided to bag it and leave it to the lesser talented…who would you rather have next to you in the trench…the empty space created by the head case or a steady if unspectacular shot.

  45. Merlin Says:

SB, because you mentioned another poster..
AB sucks. Yes he can catch and cut, but who cares if you can’t count on him when it matters

  46. Ash Says:

Mike Evans is the ultimate pro at the press conference he was saying he could do better block better just unbelievable guy always looking to do more to help his team and always looking to improve his game

  47. Rod Munch Says:

Listnfrmafar – I made it short for you since you’re clearly challenged, and I wanted you to make it all the way through it.

  48. Aceofaerospace Says:

SB. What did you say that was dumb? You said Mike Evans sucks. Calling you dumb was being polite.

  49. Aceofaerospace Says:

Yeah, I got caught up in the Johnny Manziel hype, so did Joe. At the time, we had no quarterback. I wanted one desperately. Time proved Manziel was not a good NFL quarterback. To say the greatest receiver in Bucs history sucks after what he’s accomplished is just a dumb statement. Back it up SB. Don’t compare him to some player or players that may be better. Explain why this future hall of famer sucks.

  50. SB Says:

Wow Ace. I had no Idea you were that Dense.
That was a little thing called sarcasm towards posters that know who they are.

  51. Aceofaerospace Says:

When the article is about Mike Evans and you start the comments by saying he sucks, followed by AB love, I missed the sarcasm. I do see it now. The funny thing SB, is the comments you were using in your sarcasm are the same ones, as obviously they are to you, that I read non-stop. So, yeah, as I admitted I was wrong about Manziel, I’ll admit I was wrong about your comments. They went right over my head. I am one of the most sarcastic bastards I know. Can’t believe I was to “dense” to see it. Touche!
