Will Devin White Unleash His Fury?

December 23rd, 2021

Devin White weighs in

Joe is forecasting a big storm on Sunday.

Buccaneers savior linebacker Devin White was bitter about not getting a Pro Bowl nod last season, but Tom Brady was all over it, telling White to pick his head up because the only bowl that matters has the word “Super” in front of it.

White learned that lesson in a hurry and the Bucs landed in a boat parade two months later.

But that doesn’t mean White lost his desire and love for the Pro Bowl.

He visited the Buccaneers Radio Network on Monday and made it very clear that he wants to leave a legacy on the game as a postseason performer and a guy who racks up various postseason honors.

“I know I have to have Pro Bowls,” White said.

Last night, the NFL revealed that White didn’t get his Pro Bowl this season.

The two inside/middle linebacker selections for the NFC are rookie beast Micah Parsons of the Cowboys (the dude is a phenom) and future Hall of Famer and nine-time Pro Bowler Bobby Wagner. White is an alternate.

So Joe expects White, who Bucco Bruce Arians says is now healthy and showing it, to go wild on Sunday at Carolina. White’s the kind of a guy to carry a huge chip on his shoulder and Joe can’t wait to see what that looks like against the Panthers’ weak offense.

As White explained on radio, soon people will see what it means when they say “defense wins championships.” And he wasn’t referring to the Saints.

Yes…yes he will. It’s become personal. He’s gonna put a dagger in them.

  2. Medicated Pete Says:

He’ll get in this year as an alternate when the 2 teams that make the Superbowl have players drop out

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Hope he gets a few shots at Cammy………White is a terror when he’s healthy….we will need him without LVD.

  4. Winny Testaverde Says:

Come on Re-Pete…don’t give up on the repeat already! Starting to think you might be the long lost TMax fella.

  5. godlovesbucs Says:

Pete-. Are you saying either the cowboys or Seahawks are gonna make the SB? That’s the only way he gets in.

  6. TOM EDRINGTON Says:

I’m not counting on one single Buccaneer victory over these last few games until the clock shows 00:00 and the Bucs are ahead on the scoreboard!!!

  7. Christos Says:

To be honest D.White has not played at the level he was playing late last year and through the playoffs. I was hoping this will be the year that he takes off and take over the field but he has not played at an elite level. Both Parsons and Wagner have better year. Maybe the motivation will be good. The team needs the Playoff Devin.

  8. Swampbuc Says:

We need DW to go off like Krakatoa.

  9. ChrisBuc87 Says:

Christos I couldn’t agree with you more. Nailed it.

    @godlovesbucs

You’re not supposed to research my asinine comments but since u did, the Cowboys have a chance

  11. T REX Says:

    very overrated

has had a poor year imho

  12. rrsrq Says:

He can start by introducing and reintroducing himself to Cam, but if he had add time bringing down Josh Allen, can he bring down big ole Cam

  13. Player 1 Says:

Christos is dead on. I have high hopes for Devin, but he hasnt had a pro bowl year so far. He has the ability to blow up games for sure. I think injuries have slowed down his speed a little bit this year. He has also had to help out with coverage more with the injuries back there which isnt his strong suit. Hes better at stuffing runs, and getting to the QB

  14. Bucfan Says:

White has had a off year up to this point and probably related obviously to me on this health.
If the Bucs want to be in the Super Bowl again he needs to beast out and even more then he did last year.

  15. WillieG Says:

My fear is he will try to do too much to compensate for the loss of David and be out of position frequently. Worse yet, he’ll injure himself.

  16. Rod Munch Says:

Here’s an idea… have DAVID run forward on every single play… NOT backwards, but FORWARDS.

Good things when White runs forward, he disrupts the run game, or he disrupts the pass game.

Instead Bowles has him playing 15 yards deep in pass coverage on 75% of downs and people wonder why his production is down.

  17. #1bucsfan Says:

I hope he does take it personal and play like he did last year in the playoffs. Forget about pro bowls and bring the Super Bowls to Tampa. Let’s go D.W45. With LVD put you got make big time plays

  18. PSL Bob Says:

Hope he keeps that energy pent up a little longer. Want him to peak in the playoffs, not is the late season games that mean little.

  19. Jason Says:

You’re not supposed to research my asinine comments but since u did, the Cowboys have a chance

This is why I find Pete amusing. He keeps it real. LMFAO

  20. unbelievable Says:

Would have liked to see him step up and lay some hits on the Saints after they kept going low on all of our guys… but maybe he figured the horse collar on Jameis last time around was enough lol.
