Tom Brady > Jonathan Taylor

December 22nd, 2021

MVP race.

There is buzz around NFL circles that Bucs quarterback Tom Brady killed his MVP chances for the 2021 season by his offense getting shut out in the “Apocolypse Before Christmas” at the hands of the slimy Saints.

Listening to national NFL chatter on radio, seeing it on TV and reading various sites, the smart money it seems is that drama queen Aaron Rodgers will be your next MVP, nudging out Brady largely due to Sunday night.

(Votes are tabulated before the playoffs begin. Joe is convinced if the voting occurred after the Super Bowl, Brady would have won MVP last year.)

Now there is a sect within #NFLMedia that says Colts running back Jonathan Taylor should be voted MVP over both Rodgers and Brady. Former Eagles general manager Joe Banner believes that’s a load.

While there can be some debate about which player is ultimately the correct choice, it’s going to be a severely uphill battle for a non-QB to win the MVP. With the way the game is being played, there is no position that rivals the QB in terms of its impact on winning. Removing Tom Brady from the Bucs or Aaron Rodgers from the Packers would make their respective teams worse by 3-5 wins.

Banner went on to type that we have already seen the Packers without Rodgers this season and it was a godawful sight. And with the injuries to the Bucs offense, how far would it collapse if Brady went down?

First off, Joe doesn’t even want to think about Brady going down with an injury. But yeah, that might just be the kill shot to the Bucs’ chances of repeating.

Please don’t try to run over any more linebackers, Tom.

Winning championships is all that should matter. I think that’s all that matters to Tom. If he sees the Bucs have become the Pats when he left them, he might decide to hang it up after this season.

First of all there is no apocalipsis here, of course the situation is tough, but we have a very good defense, and we do still have good weapons like Brady, Gronk, AB, Rojo….
I understandthe situation changed, but we still can make it happen…..

Tom Brady has better stats than Rodgers, that´s a fact, now Taylor is an animal form a different zoo, he had a very impressive season, no doubt about that….

Sorry, I love Brady and dispise but respect Roger’s game but hands down Johnathan Taylor. The fact that everyone knows he’s coming he consistently continues to do it. That 67 yard run against the Pat’s was crazy. To leave Hightower a solid veteran LB and McCordey picking up their jstraps was impressive. The numbers don’t lie, he’s really giod.

As a Tequila Tommy Buc, I have to tell you, I love Jonathan Taylor.

Everyone is counting us out after this week. I think the offense is going to come back strong. Johnson will play much better in the slot than he has split wide. Fournette is our biggest loss, but we are going to be okay if we don’t lose anyone else. Somehow we can’t have anymore injuries. We are going to miss David.

There’s still 3 games to be played. If we win out, a lot can change. The packers still have the Browns and the Vikings. Cards and Cowboys still play each other and the rams have to play the Vikings, Ravens and 49ers. Tough games for all. Brady could still come out on top in every way over the next 3 games.

Rodgers will win it, because he is a QB, but IMHO Johnathan Taylor deserves it.
Everyone knows he is coming and stacks the box, and he still breaks off big runs!
The Colts are where they are because of him.
Brady blew it with his awful play, and his little temper tantrum, on National TV.

As a fan that is old enuff to remember Vince Lombardi, let me remind all you doubters what his outlook was on winning. his favorite saying was “winning isn’t the most important, it’s the ONLY thing” So Tommy Boy isn’t thinking about MVP, he’s thinking about the big prize. Let me ask you a rhetorical question. Who won the MVP last year and who won the Super Bowl. I guarantee there will not be a 30 yd pass on 4th and 1 the rest of the year. I think they should make Byran sit on the bench with an etch-a-scetch to play with and turn the offense over to Tommy Boy. Just my opinion

  12. rrsrq Says:

I agree, but without Taylor, the Colts are probably battling Jacksonville, Jests, Texans and Detroit for 1st pick
