The Greatest 20-Game Stretch In Buccaneers History

December 5th, 2021

The architects

Thanksgiving may be over, but Joe hasn’t finished expressing gratitude for these unprecedented times after enduring the grueling Lost Decade of Buccaneers football.

Our beloved Bucs have won 17 of their last 20 games, including the Super Bowl. It’s the greatest 20-game run in franchise history.

After losing to New Orleans on opening day of the 2002 season, Chucky’s Bucs went 15-3 to win the Super Bowl. Then they opened with a win in 2003 before the wheels fell off. So their best run stood at 16-3.

Joe finds it fitting that the Bucs hit the special milestone today behind monstrous play from two draft picks, receivers Chris Godwin (2017 draft) and Mike Evans (2014), and an impressive day by Vita Vea (2018) and strong returns from injury by guard Ali Marpet (2015) and Carlton Davis (2018).

Yes, Joe knows non-homegrown studs like Ndamukong Suh, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski were heroes against the Falcons, but the point is that this historic Bucs run is a true team effort.

Joe is so glad to be living and breathing these special days of Bucs football, with the greatest coach and quarterback in team history, and the deepest roster the franchise has ever had.

My God it is so much nicer winning than all the losing this team has given us

‘after enduring the grueling Lost Decade of Buccaneers football.’

What a difference a GOOD HC and a QUALIITY QB make!
It’s so awesome to get relief from those horrific decisions one after another beyond the course of that decade…. Hopefully the successor of both those positions will be of great talent also!

  3. Cobraboy Says:

I did have one ATM flashback at the end of the first half.

  4. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

It is the Brady effect. I mean Arians is a great coach, but it is Brady that has been winner wherever he goes.

  5. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard has been a fan of a Brady led team for two years now. Howard likes it.

  6. Mort Says:

Savor this. It won’t be often you’ll have the greatest to ever do it as your QB, surrounded by a ton of talent with a real good coaching staff.

  7. Howard Cosell Says:

Although apparently Belicheat is not the Brady coat-tail rider Howard thought he was last year. He’s turned the team around in 1 year and is making Mac Jones into a star.

  8. Youngbucs Says:

This is exactly why these trolls piss me off here smh.

  9. Youngbucs Says:

All we do is win they’re mad why?

  10. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard thinks CG14 is dreamy, like Marsha Brady did with Davey Jones.

  11. JimmyJack Says:

This feels like a dream within a dream.

  12. WillieG Says:

I’ve been a Bucs fan since the days of Doug Williams. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I freakin love it!

  13. R.O. Says:

Howard.. Yeah because when the Bucs beat up on losing Teams they have it easy when other teams like the Patriots or Packers do it they are good. No one thought the Patriots defense was going to be bad. It’s their Offense that has exceeded expectations.

  14. David Says:

    Awesome!!!

Yet week after week we complain about the Defense and Offense and their inconsistencies. Meanwhile they’re 9-3 and running away with the division… My how times have changed

  15. Buczilla Says:

Licht has gotten damn good since Lovie hired him seven years ago. Arians was already good and Brady is the best to ever play the game. Considering the mostly awful quarterbacks, coaches, and gm’s that we have had, this is like the golden age of Buccaneers football and I couldn’t be happier with the organization. Well, I’ve rarely been happy with the leprechauns, especially after the deplorable act of removing Chucky, but at least they are spending the money necessary to win.,

  16. Infomeplease Says:

Joe, you had a go and remind me that not to long ago this team really sucked and was the laughing stock of the NFL! Since last year, that memory has been fading fast!!!! Please KEEP THOSE PAST NIGHTMARES IN YOUR HEAD!!!

    GREAT TEAM WIN!!!!

You hit it square on the head JOE!
I’m enjoying watching ,living and breathing the absolute Glory Days of this long beaten down franchise, shy of a 20 year ago run that tailed off fast and hard into the abyss. No One can argue this isn’t the most talented roster in the NFL ..This is where Brady, Gronk, hell even Dick Sherman can show this group that all have fresh rings on fingers ,the way to Focus in and GO GET ANOTHER ONE!! They’re playing the best the have all year ..There’s NO TEAM BETTER in NFL lets face it …Damm Right I’m loving this! 17-3!! Are you kidding me??? ill state once again …LETS GO FOR TWO!!!

  19. Aceofaerospace Says:

It’s great to be a lifetime Bucs fan right now.

  20. stpetebucsfan Says:

It’s getting like Trump promised in his ’16 campaign. We’re going to have so much winning we’re not going to believe it, more winning than we’ve ever seen, we’re going to have so much winning we’ll get tired of winning.

I was ok until that last bit. I’m still not tired of winning!

  21. TampabayDJ82 Says:

WOW , I JUST GOT DONE TEARING ALL THE FAKE BUCS FAN’S A NEW B HOLE ON THE LAST POST I READ AND NOW I SEE THIS ! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT TO ALL THE CRYBABY FAN’S THAT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING NO MATTER HOW GREAT THIS TEAM IS. I JUST TOLD THEM THAT THEY MUST NOT HAVE WATCHED THE REAL CRAPPY TEAMS BEFORE THE LAST FEW YEARS .. GO BUCS

  22. orlbucfan Says:

Still pinching myself after 40+ years of following this team. You bet I am a long suffering fan but I sure enjoy it now: Best team in Bucs history. Works for me. 🙂

  23. Since76 Says:

This has been a great run. Will Brady play next year??

  24. Idahobucfan4life Says:

For some of us there have been two or three “Lost Decades.” After the early 80’s and before the late 90’s those complete decades weren’t particularly satisfying either. Times like now are what make it worth being a Buccaneers fan through those painfully dry decades. To have the win percentage the Bucs have had since TB12 walked through the doors has been nothing short of magical.
