Stephen A. Smith Takes Apart Antonio Brown

December 6th, 2021

No filter with Antonio Brown.

The tremors following the quake that erupted last week when the NFL announced it was suspending furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing, fake-V-card flashing receiver Antonio Brown and Mike Edwards are still being felt.

One man who could not believe what was happening was BSPN’s screamin’ Stephen A. Smith.

In SAS’s eyes, Brown showed what type of a hollow character he is.

SAS couldn’t believe how Brown shat on a guy who went to bat for him and basically saved his career, let him share his home with his family, and Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians who gave Brown likely his last chance in the NFL.

“Tom Brady obviously vouched for you,” SAS began. “You would do this to him? … Bruce Arians… brings you there. You do this to them? This man Tom Brady lets you live in his home. … And still — STILL! — you lie.”

SAS makes great points and how can you argue with any of them? It’s just beyond dumb.

Joe admits that this is sitcom-like material the way a “Last Chance U” dude (John Franklin) was the one who got Brown in hot water and sold him the fake V-card. Leave it to a “Last Chance U” dude. smh

If anyone watched “Last Chance U” on Netflix, specifically the season in which Franklin played (he was a total angel compared to some of his teammates), then you know exactly what Joe is getting at.

Once Joe learned that Brown had in fact gotten the jab in training camp, in Joe’s eyes, we should all turn the page on this stuff when Brown’s suspension is over. Move on. You know, like to the Super Bowl?

only Lenny understood “Last Chance U”

  2. westernbuc Says:

It would make sense to move on but they won’t because it’s not about health or the team, this is about compliance.

  3. adam from ny Says:

they should ask tom what to do…

dump him or keep him for the season…

    let tom decide…

and then next season let the head coach, gm and owners make the call..

for now, let tommy b decide if AB sinks or swims

  4. Anonymous Says:

Ofc this is all about Tom. I agree with Adam. Let Tom decide, but I doubt Tom will care about it.

The only people who don’t respect AB’s reluctance for the jab are of the brandon flock

  6. Uncle Says:

This is such a nonstory story. Simple fact is the Vax doesn’t stop transmission at all. So the NFL shouldn’t be involved whether players are vaccinated or not. Test if they so desire. Otherwise can we stop this silly little PC vaccine obsession? It failed. Time everyone accepts this and stops pretending. I’m jabbed twice. Won’t get it again until they show its actually a vaccine.

    ^^^^^^
    Complete gibberish, Robert.

  8. Bobby M. Says:

I still think this was expected with AB…..and my belief is if he wasn’t being a problem at practice, in the locker room and was performing, they would simply tolerate whatever stupidity he came with off the field. The team has a super small window to make some playoff runs….ultimately he has value for us down the road and comes super cheap with all sorts of financial protections. Honestly…it wouldn’t shock me if the Bucs asked to have him suspended. He wasn’t healthy and playing, probably wasn’t going to play for a few more weeks, now they don’t have to pay him for the games missed plus he likely doesn’t hit any of his performance bonuses. When you look at all that money lost vs $10k to make this go away…..its incredible how moronic this guy is off the field.

  9. Bird Says:

    Please lets move on

Oh and who gives a flying F about SAS opinion on anything.

  10. BUC CHEEKS Says:

Umm we knew this guy was a nut job…. What’s the surprise?! Serve your time AB, get back to work and let’s win another Super Bowl!

  11. Medicated Pete Says:

AB is our Dennis Rodman. MJ loved Dennis. Tommy loves AB.

  12. Bob in valrico Says:

“AB is our Dennis Rodman”. For AB,s sake I hope not. Rodman behavior became even more bizarre after basketball.

  13. ModHairKen Says:

I thought Stephen A. Smith got fired a long time ago.

  14. Leighroy Says:

Is it me or are only the talking heads bothered by this topic? See you in the playoffs AB!

  15. #1bucsfan Says:

Buc cheeks exactly. Serve your time n get back to work. Prob be gone after the season but browns skills on the field are still the best around even after yesterdays game our offense is better with AB out there. Great player he is idk bout his character tho but we need his skills to win not his character lol

  17. Sean Says:

It takes so much more time and energy to get a fake vaccination card that to get the safe, effective vaccination. I’m all for skepticism of our so-called betters but I jump off the train when it comes to this weird reflexive anti-intellectualism: flat-earthers, anti-vaxxers, conspiracies-around-every-corner types. I just don’t get the mentality.

  18. Mort Says:

So are you reporting it was JF3 who sold him a fake card? Because it sounds like you’re reporting that. You know it wasn’t Mike Edwards? You know it wasn’t someone else who sold all three of them fake cards?

Also not for nothing, JF3 didn’t do this to AB and Mike Edwards. They did it to themselves. The vaccine is literally free. They couldn’t have just gone to a Walgreens or something? No no, let’s not make John Franklin the scapegoat here. Personal responsibility. If you cut AB for this, you should cut Mike Edwards for this too, right? AB has served his punishment for whatever else he’s gone. So it would be you cut him for this. That’s fine if that’s what it is, but you also cut Mike Edwards or it’s a hollow double standard here.

  19. Chuckstutz Says:

    Joe you are correct,as usual.

  20. Thisisouryear!! Says:

I think Brown felt guilty for lying. That’s why he got the vaccine later but he was embarrassed by his tangled web. I’m glad it’s over. He’s been great on and off the field since he’s been here. Let’s give him another chance and move on.

  23. Bucsfanman Says:

Once again, this isn’t about to get or not to get the jab. This is about breaking rules, plain and simple.

  24. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Where was all this uproar when Winston lied to the entire world about his Uber “hassle”?……..nope, Bucs invested a #1 pick & he was a starting QB….

    Easy to say…..kick out AB…..just another WR…..free agent…..

But, then….there’s Brady…..WWBD…….What would Brady do?……Brady wants AB on the field….and Brady will get what he wants.

  25. Winny Testaverde Says:

The law firm of Stroud, Florio & CoughMan approve of this message. All are doing their absolute best to keep this story going. Especially Florio after watching his Vikings gag yet again…against the winless Lions no less.

  26. Shane247 Says:

Wait until players start suing the NFL for basically forcing them to get vaccinated. A vaccination that doesn’t stop the contracting or spreading of the China virus. In fact, the vaccinated are the ones catching these so called variants.

  27. Joe Says:

Wait until players start suing the NFL for basically forcing them to get vaccinated.

The NFL isn’t forcing anyone to get a shot. You can play without getting a shot.

    I agree.

  30. Alanbucsfan Says:

AB didn’t like the rules facing him if he didn’t get jabbed. But he didn’t want to get jabbed. So he tried to get over, was informed if he was caught, he’d basically
end his career, so because he had already submitted a fake card, he had no choice but to get the jab if he didn’t want to get banned.
He got shook down by a former chef -maybe justifiably maybe not- then media shamed.
The NFL penalized him for trying to get over initially, and took into consideration he ultimately complied with their protocols
Considering the infraction and penalty- let it go and hope he gets healthy for playoffs.
He didn’t hurt anyone but himself..

  31. Since76 Says:

Joe in mich…….what world are you in???? The vax doesnt work. Its as simple as that. Speaking of dumb are you voting for Gretchen again.

  32. HeyItsAdam Says:

I honestly do not care what he did. Personally, I like him more for trying to shove the vax mandate up the NFL’s rear end.

The NFL has no issue with packing fans, Vaxed or not, masked or not, into mega-stadiums, shoulder-to-shoulder, but are going to hold the players to this ridiculous standard?

Since it is not a true vaccine and prevents NOTHING, the emphasis on the jab is pure theater to create the ILLUSION of care. Just like the “one-helmet” rule and the concussion protocols. They want it to LOOK like they’re being conscientious.

  33. orlbucfan Says:

We’ve got some real yahoos on here. The vaccines do NOT keep anyone from contracting Covid. They lessen the severity of the disease so the infected person doesn’t end up hospitalized. And suffocating to death is no fun either.

  34. View from 132 Says:

All of you Fox/Briebart/America One watchers are ridiculous. He’s a union employee and the union and league agreed on clear protocols. He could’ve played unvaccinated if he chose to do so. It would’ve been a stupid decision, but it was his “right” to do so.

Proud Breitbart fan here. It’s a nice change of pace from the race baiting CNN and MSNBC.

Delete your twitter and FB and get some BB in you and you’ll see truth and not spoonfed lies.

Proud breitbart fan? Yep you just solidified you are an idiot. Guess you believe in the easter bunny and tooth fairy. Hey while you are at it, dont forget to make your list for santa claus or better yet go to your local mall and sit on his lap and tell him directly what you want for christmas. Breitbart my god you are an idiot

  39. Bosch Says:

@Adam: You are right on. I would make a slight variation and actually put it to a team vote. Have an open forum prior to the vote. Any and every team member has the opportunity to express their view. As we all know, Brady will speak, and the vote will take the side. So Tom really does decide and the team feels included. Win – win. Now here is the best part. Prior to the vote, Brady gets eyeball to eyeball with Brown and says: “Tell me why I should throw my support behind you after you have lied to the very people, including me, who gave you this opportunity to resurrect your career.” The humility of having to respond to that could be life changing for Brown.

  40. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Mandatory laws to protect people from hurting themselves or others:

    1. Wearing a helmet while on a motorcycle.
    2. Wearing a seat belt while driving or being a passenger in an automobile.
    3. Making deadly illicit drugs illegal
    4. Mandating vaccines for school entry-Polio,Rubella,Varicella etc.

Many laws protect people who are either too stupid or too stubborn to do the right thing on their own. My President has an 81,283,361 million vote mandate to do what is necessary to control Covid and Joseph Robinett Biden will do just that and there is nothing you can do about it.

    ………..

While this is completely true, how come the Bucs are the only team to have multiple players suspended when it came out yesterday the Several teams have had players do the same thing and the NFL just told them to handle it internally?

  42. Alanbucsfan Says:

Mandating vaccines for school entry-Polio,Rubella,Varicella etc.

The current “vaccines” are still under emergency use authorization only and require consent of jabbed with no liability to drug manufacturers.
Any “approved “ covid “vaccines” have not been issued in US to date.

This is why every court in US has and will continue to throw out mandates.
Unless you live in communist states of NY , California, etc.

  43. SlyPirate Says:

AB is a package deal. You get the playmaker and the idiot.

It is also why one of the best WR in the NFL comes at a discount.

  44. Bucsfanman Says:

SB- I have no idea. This was the 1st time I heard of the NFL suspending ANYONE for this.

Alan- “The current “vaccines” are still under emergency use authorization only and require consent of jabbed with no liability to drug manufacturers.”

Half-true! Pfizer vaccines are FDA approved.

Lastly, this is not about the jab. This is about breaking the rules, an agreed upon labor agreement. There was no reason to falsify documentation as there are caveats and guidelines to follow for those who do not wish to be vaccinated. Stop making it about something else.

  45. Listnfrmafar Says:

    Old news, move on

  46. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Frankly, I look at it like this: getting vaccinated isn’t only about your own personal rights, it’s about protecting others too.

Don’t want the shot? Stay in quarantine. Don’t infect children as you walk around stores.

At the very least, where a mask. This junk about them not working is bull. Doctors have been wearing masks for more than a century. It isn’t just about protecting yourselves, it’s about protecting others.

There are not honest religious exemptions either. Trying to claim them is dishonest. I am a Christian and there is absolutely nothing in my faith saying I can’t get vaccines or wear masks.

It all comes down to selfishness and/or fear.

  47. Robert Says:

“Frankly, I look at it like this: getting vaccinated isn’t only about your own personal rights, it’s about protecting others too.”

vax shaming. lol……. I love it.

It the vax does nothing to contain the spread your point is mute. OMG.

I’m sure you will enlighten me, as I am incabale of comprehending things on my own because I have a diferent opinion.

Here’s a thought. STOP vax shaming people, stay in your car with your mask on and we’ll all be good.

  48. stpetebucsfan Says:

“It the vax does nothing to contain the spread your point is mute. OMG.”

I think the word you’re searching for is moot but OMG it’s not.

During the flareup of the Delta spike more than 9 out of 10 of the patients crowding our ICU’s were unvaxxed Covid patients. Do the math! If they had all been vaxxed there would be only two patients in ICU instead of 10!

Meanwhile there are documentented cases of people who died from preventable causes like cardiac patients unable to get into the ER not to mention all the patients who had to postpone elective surgery.

But hey what are a few extra deaths and huge inconvenience for freedumb right?

  49. steve gase Says:

BA should look at SB LII.
Will Belichick ever live down Malcolm Butler’s absence in that game?
Will BA get the same treatment if AB is missing in SB LVI ?
Will TB look back and say — “I shoulda had 2 more?”

  50. Mike Says:

Agree with Joe, he got the shot before the training camp. He corrected his mistake before causing any harm. Just move on please. I’m sure TB is fine to get him back ASAP.

  51. Jerry Strickland Says:

Sorry but AB should be left alone and not be tried by public opinion. So what? This is between him and the Buccaneers. AB Zis a dedicated Buccaneer let him alone and let him do what he does best and that is playing professional football.
