Rob Gronkowski Is Hated In His Hometown Of Buffalo

Not popular back home.
As much as Bucs foot-rubbing, car-littering, film guru tight end Rob Gronkowski is loved in Tampa Bay and in New England, he is almost considered poison in his hometown of Buffalo.
Buffalo loves its Bills and for all the years Gronk played for the Belicheats, New England regularly curb-stomped Buffalo.
CBS is broadcasting today’s game so they are pimping this matchup hard between arguably the best quarterbacks in their respective conferences. So as part of that, in a virtual sitdown with CBS analyst (weekend) Boomer Esiason, Gronk explained how if he goes back home to Buffalo that people are polite to him as long as he does something like go to a relative’s Little League game.
Gronk said he knows better than to hit up Buffalo bars because someone will definitely try to lure him into something that will wind up on TMZ and perhaps have him wearing New York state-issued cufflinks.
Also, Gronk discussed the nickname he has, along with some coaches, given to him by 17-game-loathing, salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

There will a lot BUF fans in the crowd today. A Bucs fan who sat next to me for years owned a business there and flew down for the game. He himself talked about what scum the typical Bills fan is. While that may be strong, and I don’t know if it’s true, I just hope if they traveled here they have access to a shower before coming to the game and sitting among the Bucs loyal. I look forward to hearing them get mighty quiet after the first half of the first quarter, just like the Giants fans did.

Gronk is great. Man was I wrong. When they signed him my eyes rolled. I thought he was washed up with football, was to injured, was too unfocused doing wrestling, was too much of a goofball loving the limelight etc. etc. etc.
Wrong. He is a goofball but he works and he has been awesome.
Seeing him and Brady up close and personal 100 times more than we did when they were in New England, it’s so obvious now why New England fans just love them both. They’ve both just been fantastic

I’m from upstate New York and went to some bills games even though I was never a huge fan. But that is wrong. The bills fans are great. Kind of like Packers fans. They’re a close knit small community that loves their team. Nothing like obnoxious Giants or Eagles fans

I’m originally from Niagara (Canadian side) and have generally been a bit of a Bills fan (not my fav. though) since O.J.
I can understand Bills fans disliking Brady but hearing that Gronk, one of their own who virtually all football fans love, can’t even go to a bar in his hometown, is a bit much.
It definitely confirms for me that “Bills Mafia” (full of themselves and embassingly addicted to the national attention they’ve been getting the last couple years) are a**holes as a group.
Will add them (along will the Cowboys) to the very small group of teams in all of sports that I actively cheer against.

Gronk is hated up in Buffalo because of a cheap shot he took against a Bills cornerback. Gronk has since apologized for it.

Between Gronk and JPP Jason Licht has been an absolute shark trading for players.
Look at the history and Bill Belichick has made GMs look like absolute fools trading for Patriot players…….Licht is one of the few GMs(maybe the only?) that has gotten the better of a trade with N.E……twice; Gronk and Logan Mankins.
