Near Flawless Return For Ali Marpet

December 7th, 2021

The film review is in.

After missing a 1 3/4 games, guard Ali Marpet returned from an oblique muscle injury to go the distance Sunday in Atlanta. And Joe is very impressed by Marpet’s performance. He was nearly flawless and Joe saw no signs of injury.

That was huge considering Super Bowl backup guard Aaron Stinnie is shelved with a patellar tendon issue.

The Falcons barely breathed on Tom Brady and when they did, it wasn’t on Marpet. Overall the Bucs’ offensive line wasn’t its sometimes angry and nasty self in the run game, but Marpet didn’t appear soft. Heck, Joe could point to others who had their soft moments on the line.

The more healthy Bucs the better. As Joe watches Jason Pierre-Paul, Devin White and Lavonte David struggle with injuries and/or wear and tear, the more Joe appreciates anyone looking healthy and playing hard.

Best guard we have ever had…best lineman argument for sure

There a saying: It all starts up front. O-Line has been marvelous this season! They won’t be an issue in the Postseason.

  3. SlyPirate Says:

The guys upfront are really good. TB12’s pre-snap analysis and quick throws make them really good. Now, 4Net running the ball makes them great. Complimentary football.

Any further commentary on this game is telling. Congrats, you beat the worst team in football. Not the jags, not the jets, Atlanta is the worst roster top to bottom. What y’all should be talking about is what an embarrassment that ATL was in the game after 3 quarters.

We beat who we were supposed to beat. Let me know when a W isn’t a W anymore. Until then, hide in the shadows and sulk bc your messiah is gone. I’ve never been to a Patriots board….

Ben Green the Falcons are not worse than the jets or lions.

  7. BucfanBF Says:

Ben Green knows absolutely nothing about football to make a statement like what he said above.
In fact, there are a ton of clueless posters here.

Which basically means bucfan BeFore (so not now)
    Ndog. Is That you coward?
Or a different messiah cult member?

Looking at their records, you are obviously wrong Been Green (yes Been, not Ben). Nice try though – and way to be such a positive person!

Bills will be hangry and we better be on our A game.

    Speaking of good O-line play…

Joe, I just read that Wirfs has not allowed a QB pressure since week 8! Can this be true? If so, he has to be the #1 option for Pro Bowl RT.

Sunday was the first time I watched Tom Brady play live instead of on TV. I think we all know that when watching football in person you tend to see things that you miss on TV. I was really struck by how good the offensive line is and how fast Brady gets rid of the ball. I’m not sure if he was touched all game on Sunday.

The offense was really cohesive and efficient on Sunday. Not always perfect but by and large every receiver was running crisp routes, beating their man, the o-line was stout, and Brady was zipping that ball all over the place.

Bird, think you got our troll sniffed out my man. I had him pegged(!) as sheep lover Realisto. Either way dude is a turd.
    Go Bucs!

  13. BT-Tampa Says:

    BucFanBF,

BenGreen has dropped teasing clues that he has been in the NFL and followed Brady from NE to this blog. He probably know more about what is going on than all of us put together. He is right – Atlanta is not good. Let’s beat the snot out of Buffalo in a good “ol-school” game like they played last night.

Gonna visit Big Storm Brewery for the first time Friday night! Drink a few for the line!!

    Awesome!

Marpet might be Licht’s find of the century. He is very top level and it makes me wonder why he played at Hobart.

  17. cmurda Says:

O Line is and has been phenomenal. Exceptional play consistently all year long even when Marpet was out. Losing Stinnie really stinks. Cam Gill needs more snaps. He has done nothing but produce when given the opportunity. Less JPP snaps, more Gill.

When they flashed the O-L on the screen on Sunday and I recognized every name, I breathed a sigh of relief. And those guy KNOW how to play TOGETHER. They’re the best 5-some in the league.
