Missing Bruce Arians

December 30th, 2021

“Will Bruce answer my texts?”

Cam Brate admits it is weird.

The long-time Bucs tight end spoke yesterday to the local pen and mic club and said something missing at practice now. He can sense it.

Of course, Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians is on the dreaded COVID list and is out of commission until he tests negative. Hopefully, his preexisting medical conditions don’t make the damn thing any worse than what it is.

Brate sensed he could miss his coach not being at practice because Arians’ golf cart is nowhere to be found.

“I am always kind of amused looking over and he is in his [golf] cart just kind of chilling in his cart the whole practice,” Brate said. “I miss seeing him out there.

“Obviously, his presence is really important to the team. He will call guys over throughout practice to his cart and just kind of go over some little details and plays.

“Obviously, we all really love Bruce and hope he is feeling well. We can’t wait to have him back, but ‘Coach Goodie’ (Interim Head Coach Harold Goodwin) is going to do a great job filling in for him.”

Now media is only allowed to watch roughly the first 25 minutes of practice once the regular season starts. That entails dudes warming up, position drills and maybe some special teams, that’s it. So it was interesting that Brady said Arians sits in his golf cart all practice.

Joe can tell you during training camp when media is allowed to view full practices, Arians is up and about maybe half of the session. During the first 45 minutes to an hour, when the team is in position stations and special teams work, Arians is in his golf cart but he’s buzzing back and forth often between practice fields.

When there are 11-on-11 drills or 7-on-7 later in practice, Arians is out of his cart and is very active. In the blink of an eye he will cuss out a player for doing something stupid. From viewing various eruptions of Mount Arians, dropped passes and false starts light his fuse quicker than anything.

Trust Joe, you hear Arians. Loudly. And you hear his very colorful vocabulary, too.

So Joe finds it very interesting insight that Brate says, Arians chills out in his golf cart all through regular-season practices.

Maybe a booster a day for the next 15 years (or until the govt says it’s “okay”) will bring him back sooner. It is hilarious that so many of the rectal-cranial-inversion crowd, trust the government. Thalidomide was approved by the govt at one point as well.

Heshootshesores: 4 days ago I have a close friend who believed like you. 56 years old great shape, last words he said to his two sons was Get the shot dont be an idiot like me.
Could care less what you do and why but political banter is a waste of time.

Nice article! One typo though, you said “Brady” instead of “Brate” in the first paragraph below the quote.

I understand we all have Brady on the mind.

Closed minds and cold hearts. That is what our country has become. Too many well meaning people believing ignorance is bliss. I mourn for the nearly one million people who have died from this virus. 92 per cent of all the deaths from covid-19 since last March have been unvaccinated people. BA will be fine because he was vaccinated. Now hospitals are treating hundreds of kids under 5 because they are unvaccinated. This a sad state of affairs.

Heshoots. Who really gives a sht what you say?

  7. Sean Says:

It seems Brate has been missing the entire season. What’s his excuse?

  8. Hoops Says:

Brate hasn’t been missing, but Gronk gets 96% of the snaps. They throw to the wide receivers and running backs. Brate is a third option when there is a pass play. That’s just the way it’s been with Arien’s and Lefty as coaches. It’s not Brate’s fault. Haven’t you watched the games? There’s a reason he’s been on the team for 8 years now. Give him some respect.

I knew a guy who knew a guy who’s son overdosed on heroine. Both doctors and scientists say that’s bad for you yet we’re building “safe shoot houses”

@Mickman…….My brother is friends with Jose Manriquez, the Denver cop who was Forced to take the Jab or lose his job and now he can’t walk right. Dude already had Covid and recovered. The force Made him take the shot and now he can’t play with his four kids.
And what about the many cases of inflammation of heart muscle, called pericarditis and myocarditis that are causing heart attacks.

If the NFL just lowered the quarantine period from 10 days to 5 days, shouldn’t BA be back on the sidelines on Sunday? If he feels fine?

  12. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

Don’t worry Bruce will kill all the covid in his Body with Whiskey. Wonder if he still drinking Crown or something fancier by now?

  13. Jp09 Says:

It’s funny we have to keep going over this. The vaccine helps the individual and only the individual who takes it. The vaccine does not prevent you from contracting or spreading Covid, it only lessen the symptoms. Also, Covid has over a 99% survival rate. Did you know that nearly half a million people die a year due to cholesterol related health issues…

  14. Buddha Says:

Post hoc ergo Procter hoc after which does not mean because of which. 62% of the population is now vaccinated with at least two shots. Or the equivalent. Without vaccination and masking and social distancing the death rate would likely be above 3%. If you want to be educated then subscribe online to the New England journal of medicine which reports studies twice a week on the safety of the vaccines. If you want your head filled with disinformation and nonsense then watch Fox News every day.

  15. Ben green Says:

This is his last year with the team, superbowl or not. How can you miss a guy who sits on his ass in a golf cart all through practice? He’s obviously not in great health, and most of it appears to be his own doing. Brady is going to want a real coach next year. Someone with a command of his offense. This hasn’t looked like the BA offense for quite some time now, so Ben fails to see why he’d be missed. It’s been checkdown Charlie and jump balls to Evans Godwin excluded of course

  16. Anonymous Says:

They should have pulled the golf cart out as a motivational tool
    Win one for the coach!!

  17. August 1976 Buc Says:

“Ben fails to see why he’d be missed”
Why not fly to Tampa Ben, and ask the players why BA is missed, instead of making your uninformed Jackazz comments.

I guess a rough last 2 weeks by the Mac Jones lead Pats.
Division title is out the window for your boys now, and they had it in the palm of their hands.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  18. tampabayallday Says:

Maybe a vax each week would help

  19. Jp09 Says:

@buddha “likely” blah blah blah. You expect people to take you seriously and you say “likely”. The reality of it is that the survival rate in America is 98.5% of confirmed cases. You likely are misinformed as well. All you have to do is go to your beloved cdc website and do a little math and you will realize, according to the numbers posted by the cdc that this virus is not all that deadly. Especially if you have no underlying conditions

  20. kyle Says:

love the closet ahole doctors on this site talking about vaccines… No one cares about your opinions.. go call talk radio with that nonsense.

  21. Crickett Baker Says:

I read on a government website that 8 out of 10 people who got covid had mild cases. No matter vax nor unvax. So here is hoping BA is one of those 8.

  22. orlbucfan Says:

Cam Brate is one of those underrated guys on a championship team. He says he misses BA but he doesn’t. He knows what his job is next Sunday. The weather up in the Meadowlands will be a key. Wet and cold will be a test for our Bucs.

Bucs need to forget about OJ and sign ZachErtz and HaydenHurst.
