Mike Evans Gets The “Angry Runs” Scepter

Bucs get scepter (again).
When Joe thinks back to the Bucs’ win over the Bills and the plays made by the best receiver to play for Tampa Bay, Mike Evans, an angry run is not among them.
Joe is still worked up over that beautiful, pinpoint accurate throw-and-catch between Tom Brady and Evans. It’s been five days later and Joe still cannot figure out how Brady got that ball there and how Evans hung on.
And then there was the time Brady, under rare pressure, just launched the ball down the field as he was falling down. If thrown by Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, Bucs fans would have hollered bloody murder. It was a prayer of a rainbow heave that landed in Evans’ arms.
Pretty friggin’ cool, too.
But it was something after the play where Evans was strangely honored by the gang at “Good Morning Football,” seen weekday mornings on NFL Network.
After catching the pass, Evans ran out of bounds and trucked a CBS cameraman. In the process, a referee jumped out of the way to save his life and an FHP state trooper nearly was collateral damage.
For this, Evans got this week’s “Angry Runs” scepter.

I’d give it to the cameraman for standing in the paint and taking that hit!
I like this Brady-Evans hookup more than the TD catch. It was reminiscent of a JayMiss back-foot moon shot, but it is not a common sight now, thank Goodness.

That Lazer and Snag by TB and ME was the absolute pinnacle of precision and execution. That kind of Elite-level stuff that only happens because of countless hours of training and work to perfect your craft.

I think the difference with that rainbow pass and JW’s, is that there was no chance of a pick. He threw it to a spot where it was Evans or it goes out of bounds.

Kinda funny that the second most awkward runner in Buc history gets an angry run award for running two yards and nailing a cameraman 😂😂😂

Nope. Angry run scepter should go to TB12! He was pi$$ed after that defensive lineman manhandled him and ran just about as angry as Swaggy Baker after a cheeseburger on skates or GMC after the ice cream man .

I hope this isn’t the 50 passes per game offense coming home to roost. Lots of us have advocated for a more consistent running game for just this reason.

What impressed me about that TD pass in the corner is that after the catch, Mike went down, did a back roll, and landed on his feet …IN BOUNDS!
