Here Comes Carlton Davis

December 3rd, 2021

Activated.

The cavalry is here.

The Bucs’ best cornerback, Carlton Davis, will be ready to play on Sunday. Whether he is active on the gameday roster or how many snaps he may take will not be answered until then.

But Davis will be ready. That’s because the Bucs activated Davis from the 21-day, injured-reserve practice window. So not only is he making the trip to Atlanta, if he can play it sure smells like he will.

I just hope it is not too soon!

  2. NCBucsfan Says:

Thank god!!!!! KNOCK ON WOOD, no other DB injuries this week!!!!!!!

  3. Listnfrmafar Says:

The problem is the math doesn’t work, lose 2 bring back 1.

  4. Winny Testaverde Says:

Looks like there are 2 safeties on the practice squad…and I’ve always liked Adams. More duct tape, baling wire and bumble gum to hold the secondary together.

CDIII – The guy that (until his injury this season) was leading the entire NFL in PD’s over the last couple seasons….by a considerable margin too

Would be big time to have him back Sunday since we will be missing Edwards and Whitehead. And hopefully Dean’s shoulder holds up too.

This is a scary predicament to be in for a ROAD game against a Division rival and the looming distraction this week via the suspensions. I think this game will be more dangerous than we think. Remember too we were only leading 28-25 in the 4th quarter at Home, until the two pick-6’s transpired.

I got faith in my team though…especially after this past week’s gutsy, enormous win and comeback on the road. Against one of the hotter teams in the entire League!

p.s. I’m hoping they bring up Troy Warner for this game instead of Cooper (although Cooper did make one heck of a Special Team’s play in the preseason on Punt Team). Something about Warner is intriguing and up until lately w/ the WR/TE injuries situation and the acquisitions of Perriman/Fells, Warner was consistently one of the 4 PS players being protected every week. Plus, it never hurts to have that Fred Warner DNA in you either.

    Listnfrmafar,

Yeah def not optimal, but CD3 is arguably our most important secondary player!

  7. Beeej Says:

Are we allowed to replace Edwards on the roster?

  8. Richard Weeks Says:

    Thank god!

  9. Swampbuc Says:

Good news. Thank you baby jeebus.

  10. Pryda...Sec147 Says:

    Stay healthy Carlton

  11. mg Says:

    Great news

  12. SOEbuc Says:

Excellent for the CBs, now we got Whitehead and Edwards missing.

DID AB BRING THIS UPON US GOD???!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please spare thy people from him being so stupid 😪😪😪

  13. PassingThru Says:

With the backups, we might effectively be playing Cover 0.

  14. Upstate NY BUC Says:

Winfield Jr will earn his stripes again this weekend!!! Looking for a aggressive and solid showing on his part. Time to show his leadership on the back end to cool down Marty Ice…..

  15. Jmarkbuc Says:

Just gonna have to have 18 play.. 10 minute drives each quarter and play as little D as possible.

  16. Tim R. Says:

The amount he plays will depend on how he feels following game time action. He must be ready or they would not activate him. Let’s see how Ryan chooses to go after the defense. I feel confident that the secondary will be ready.

  17. Bird Says:

Dean was full participation today as well even though listed as questionable
Good to have all 3 corners with whitehead and edwards out

Give adams the start at safety

  18. Buc4evr Says:

Can Delaney or Desir play safety? Our D line and Lb’s are going to have to bring a lot of pressure or our secondary is going to get carved up.

  19. cmurda Says:

    Welcome back CD3.

  20. IrishTony Says:

I’m so glad Davis is back. If Dean can play he’ll man the other outside spot with Bunting in the slot. Andrew Adams will take over for Whitehead and I’m guessing Cockrell will fill that other Safety spot. Hey what the hell do I know

  21. IrishTony Says:

I don’t think that Edwards will be back. It’s really stupid and sad. I really like him as a player.

  22. Jon Says:

    No special teams snaps please.
