Gameday Tampa Bay

December 12th, 2021

Game 13

Bills (7-5) at Bucs (9-3)

Kickoff: 4:25 p.m.

TV: WTSP-TV Channel 10; DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket Channel 715. The national TV broadcast map can be found here.

Streaming: Fans may stream the broadcast from Buccaneers.com or on a mobile device using one of the following: Buccaneers official app, Paramount+ app or Yahoo! Sports app. Geographic restrictions apply.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network WXTB-FM 97.9 in the Tampa-St. Petersburg region (Transmisiones de radio en español en WTMP-FM 96.1 y WMGG-AM 1470 en Tampa). Additional stations throughout Florida on the Buccaneers Radio Network can be found here. The game will also be broadcast on SiriusXM Channel 82 (Bucs broadcast).

Weather: The hot, humid weather that Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians was hoping for today likely won’t happen. The temperature at kickoff, per AccuWeather.com, is expected to be 79 degrees with 59 percent humidity and a 34 percent chance of rain. That will remain fairly steady until the sun drops as the temperature near the end of the game will be 74. Still, all in all, a nice day for a ballgame.

Odds: Per BetMGM, as of midnight Saturday night, Bucs -3.5; over/under 53.5.

Zebras: Get ready for a flag-filled game. Scott Novak’s crew will work it and they are one of the worst crews that thinks folks watch football games for the referees, per Rotowire.com. Novak’s outfit has thrown 171 flags this season, fourth-most in the league. This despite Novak’s crew only working 11 games! Novak’s crew loves to flag holding and pass interference. Naturally, both are unreviewable. #Sad

Outlook:  Joe has a hunch if the Bucs win it is going to be an absolute dogfight. Buffalo is a wounded animal. They got absolutely embarrassed on national TV before the nation on Monday night. The past week, Buffalo has been hammered by both fans and media, local western New York types and national hollering show talking heads. They’ve got too good of a defense and too good of a defensive coach to get gouged up the middle once again with the run. As former NFL suit Michael Lombardi said, this is a “Custer’s Last Stand” game for them. Lose to the Bucs and the Bills can kiss goodbye to a division title and perhaps a playoff berth. Joe thinks the Bills are going to come out like wildebeests in this game. Teams get up for the Bucs since they are the Super Bowl champ. Today, look out. Oh, and don’t think Buffalo doesn’t want to rip off Tom Brady’s head. For years Brady has spit in the Bills’ faces. Brady is 32-2 against Buffalo in his career. Joe thinks the Bucs are absolutely going to have their hands full in a major way today.

Trinkets: … Bills QB Josh Allen aims for third in a row on road with 2+ touchdown passes. Has 993 pass yards (331 per game) and 13 touchdowns (12 passing, 1 rushing) vs. 2 picks in his past 3 starts against NFC teams. Is 1 of 3 quarterbacks in AFC (Justin Herbert and Pat Mahomes) with 3,000+ pass yards (3,216) and 25+ touchdown passes (26) this season. … RB Devin Singletary leads the Bills with 495 rushing yards and can become the first Buffalo player with 500+ rush yards in each of first 3 seasons since Travis Henry (2001-03). … RB Matt Breida has 50+ scrimmage yards in 3 of his past 4 four games. Breida looks for third in a row on the road with a touchdown catch. Has 177 scrimmage yards (88.5 per game) in 2 career games vs. the Bucs. … WR Stefon Diggs looks for his third game in a row with 50+ receiving yards. Had 8 catches for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns in his only career game against the Bucs (September 2017 with the Vikings. Diggs has a receiving touchdown in 2 of his past 3 games against the NFC South. Has 60+ receiving yards in each of 6 road games this season. Needs 102 receiving yards for his fourth-straight 1,000-yard season. … WR Emmanuel Sanders has a touchdown catch in each of 3 career games against the Bucs. He has 5+ catches in 2 of his past 3 games facing the NFC South. … S Jordan Poyer led the Bills with 8 tackles last week. Aims for third in a row on the road with an interception. Has a pass defensed in 5 of 6 road games this season. Had 5 tackles and a pass defensed in a game against the Bucs. … S Micah Hyder had 4 tackles and a tackle for loss in Week 13. He has 3 passes defensed in 2 career games facing the Bucs. … LB Matt Milano aims for seventh in a row with a tackle for loss and third in a row with 2+ tackles for loss. Has 6 tackles for loss in 5 road games this season. Milano had 2 tackles for loss and a pick the last time the Bills faced the Bucs (the notorious Tyrod Taylor, 3-play, 75-yards game). … QB Tom Brady passed for 368 yards and 4 touchdowns with a pick last week. Leads NFL in passing yards (3,771) and touchdown passes (34). Brady is 32-3 in 35 career starts against Buffalo, with 72 touchdowns (70 passing, 2 rushing) against 25 picks. Brady has 39 touchdowns against 13 picks in 13 career home starts with the Bucs. … RB Leonard Fournette had 7 catches and 92 scrimmage yards (48 receiving, 44 rushing) and a touchdown catch last week. He has 1,067 scrimmage yards, his third-career 1,000-yard season. Leads all NFL running backs with 58 receptions this season. Had 108 scrimmage yards (95 rushing, 13 receiving) and 2 rushing touchdowns in his only career game facing Buffalo (November 2018 with Jacksonville). … WR Mike Evans had 99 receiving yards last week. He had 7 catches for 88 yards and a receiving touchdown in last game against Buffalo. Evans has 8 receiving touchdowns in his past 4 games at home and aims for his fifth in a row at home with a touchdown catch. … WR Chris Godwin had a career-high 15 receptions for 143 yards last week, most catches by a player in a single game this season. Godwin has 6 receiving touchdowns in his past 6 at home and aims for his third in a row at home with a touchdown catch. … TE Rob Gronkowski had his 20th-career game with 2+ receiving touchdowns in Week 13, second-most by a tight end in NFL history. Brady and Gronkowski have connected on 90 regular-season touchdowns, the second-most regular-season touchdowns by a QB-receiver duo all-time. … LB Lavonte David has 8+ tackles in 7 of his past 8 home games. He had 2 picks the last time Buffalo came to town. … LB Devin White has his second-straight 100-tackle season (100). … DT Ndamukong Suh and DT Vita Vea each had 2 sacks last week. … CB Carlton Davis had 3 passes defensed and his first fumble recovery this season last week.

Fun fact: Joe had this yesterday but it is so wild you get it again. The Bucs lead the NFL in both touchdowns scored (38) and in scoring (31.4 points a game). Here is a good reason why: The Bucs lead the NFL in most offensive snaps in the red zone. A full fifth (20.3 percent) of the Bucs offensive plays have come in the red zone. That’s insanely ridiculous and demonstrates how well the Bucs move the ball.

My fiancé calls them The Raging Buffalos, which I think is what they should officially change their name to.

  2. Buczilla Says:

This should be an awesome game, but it’s a bummer that we got this officiating crew. Just get rid of all but the most flagrant holding and pass interference penalties. These idiots can’t even figure out what a catch is though so I doubt that ever happens.
