Devin White Issues A Health Report

December 11th, 2021

“I’m looking at you, Dak.”

A bad quad and a bad hip made Devin White look like a barely average linebacker on Sunday.

It was really sad to see, complemented by Lavonte David having tackling issues against the Falcons. The dynamic duo sometimes looked more like a couple of old guys playing doubles on a Pasco County tennis court.

White is now off the official injured list, which updated after every practice, but seasoned NFL fans know that’s no confirmation that he is healed. White offered that himself via Twitter last night. He says his quad is “back right” and now he can make plays with his legs.

Welcome to the world of somewhat cryptic social media posts. Does this mean White’s hip is good, too, and it was the quad holding him back last Sunday? Or was the quad just a bigger deal than the more manageable hit issue.

Regardless, Joe is happy if White is happy — and hopefully more confident playing through his injuries.

Pete thinks Devin has a hip-pointer but prays to the lil’ baby jesus that Pete is wrong.

Got Guerrero on the case probably ☺️👊

  5. Roy T. Buford Says:

This is great news! The LB play did drop off, and tackling by most all seemed to be bad as well. A top all around performance is critical tommorrow to get the W.

  6. Mike Johnson Says:

He is playing hurt now. You never fully recover from injuries during the season. Extensive Pt and a few pain pills keep them going.

    MYSTERIOUS

Looked to me that White was playing a little faster last week then he was during the Colts game……..He really looked banged up in the Colts game.

I thought the Falcolns game was a good sign. Even though he wasnt flashing like weve come to expect it was good to see him playing a step faster. If he can keep progressing Im not worried…….were still over a month from playoff games.

Hope all these injurys dont cost us a top seed but Im confident the Bucs are good enough to finish 5-0.

Last time I checked, a Grizzly needs his quads to attack properly…..

    Nice. Lets go hunting!!!

    Cryptic?
Maybe, or nice to have an excuse out there just in case he has a bad game.

    I hope he is 100%

  14. JGhotier Says:

That’s great news. Plain and simple!

  15. Winny Testaverde Says:

We talk about Playoff/Lombardi Lenny all the time…but just as important is the reappearance of PostSeason/Divisional Round Devin! That guy went all Ray Lewis in the playoffs last year after having to sit out the Washington game.

  16. Defense Rules Says:

No doubt that they’ll play both White & LVD these last 5 games, but it sure would be nice to keep their defensive snaps down to something reasonable. Folks often forget that Kevin Minter is an excellent ILB who can hold his own subbing for LVD or White. Would personally like to see him play 50% of the snaps at LVD’s position and 50% at White’s position. Maybe keeping their snaps down would keep our starting ILBs from aggravating their injuries further.

  17. SB~LV Says:

Play his backup , Minter I think. He he has speed issues the Bills OC will scheme White out of the play if White doesn’t have his complete bag of tricks

If White is right then here is hoping he is heat seeking missile mode tomorrow. Maybe he can catch Josh Allen on one of those designed runs and convince him if he is going to try and run he is going to get thumped. I would love something along the lines of the Derek Carr hit last year along the sideline.

  19. Anonymous Says:

If it has been decided that he will play Sunday and the Bucs get the win, D45White needs a week off, “no practice no game” and there may be a couple of other Defensive players that need a week off!!

  20. Izod Says:

Even when he was healthy this year, he often times looked like a heat-seeking missile that missed the mark. If he actually makes contact it’s usually a sight to see, but the majority of times he would overrun the tackle or just whiff on it.

  21. firethecannons Says:

these guys need an extra bye week

  22. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

I played all the way through college… A quad will limit you far more than a mile hip injury that you just play through the pain… Now if he was a corner back that needed to be able to turn his hips quickly and take tight turns and stuff like that then yeah it may hold a corner back…. But white pretty much sees the target and runs straight at it!! Lol …. I played safety and I’ve had a quad injury and that junk ruins your day man!! I’m surprised he even finished the game!! They shouldn’t have let him!! It’s REALLY easy to hurt worse depending on how bad it was

Let’s hope we don’t see anymore of those tennis double partners for the rest of the year.
