Evans get literally like 50 yards per game vs the Saints in just PI calls. Saying because you had a line of 2 catches, 30 yards, 1 TD, is not shutting someone down when you have another 50 yards of PI calls on top of that.

I don’t mind not running the ball, it’s 2021, you run through the air. But you don’t call an off tackle run on 3rd and 7, and basically that’s what we did with that pass. Leftwich is giving Brady one option there really, more of that moron handicapping Brady with bad calls. If you’re worried about too much pressure, why don’t you call one of those screens you love so much, Leftwich. There, it would make sense.

2 deep safety is not some new miraculous defense. Most defenses have employed that scheme for years. Slants and the middle with Godwin and Gronk should be there. Run the ball too. They are daring us to run the ball and we should oblige.

Normally I’d defense SMB, if you get any NFL WR playing 1-on-1 with a corner, and you get ZERO pressure on the QB who puts up a perfect pass, the corner is going to get beat 85% of the time.
However this is the Saints, they don’t have any NFL level WRs. Calloway is their best WR, but he wouldn’t even make the Bucs roster (not kidding, he would not make our roster and he’s their #1).

People need to chill. Corners normally don’t win 1-on-1 match-ups when QBs have all day to throw the ball. SMB is a 3rd stringer and for a 3rd string corner is about average. There’s not a ton of good quality corners in todays game.

It seems our defense IS that dependent on Dean… and ALL the starters. On D line, they need Vea Suh, Shaq and JPP all healthy. Without just one of those guys, their ability to get pressure is drastically different. It seems the secondary is the same way. Not any one of them is that special, but they all work together.

The issue with Leftwich getting another job is that Arians said he doesn’t want to call the plays and doesn’t want to break in new coordinators. If we lose Leftwich, we might lose Arians.
That’s the only concern.

But I certainly agree, he should be calling the plays, Leftwich has zero feel for the game.

The Aints were far more prepared for this game., We have a bunch of dopey ass plays like we don’t even care about this game. Bucs did not need to win this game. The Aints did. This is the Superbowl for the Aints this season, to keep any hope of “playoffs” alive. The Bucs are easily in the playoffs. Bad loss, no doubt, but doesn’t change our teams’ future outlook. The loss of all of our stars on offense surely contributed to the loss. Brady is pissed, and I guarantee the Bucs will be more competitive going forward.
