We all remember the game-winning throw from Tom Brady to Breshad Perriman Sunday night that won the game in overtime.
Many believe that was the play of the game.
Hard to argue.
Joe is of the mind the play of the game was that insanely accurate throw from Brady to Mike Evans for a touchdown. Between the virtually impossible throw and the equally tough catch, that might be the play of the year for Joe.
Playoff Lenny’s touchdown run is right up there with everyone having perfect blocks to spring Playoff Lenny.
Tyler Sullivan of CBS was watching the game and he wouldn’t have picked either one. Instead, he picked a play that is pretty much buried in history as his play of the game.
Without Playoff Lenny barely getting a first down in overtime, Brady’s throw to Perriman never happens.
Fournette’s conversion on a third-and-1 from the Tampa Bay 15-yard line in overtime was a monumental moment. He just was able to get the first down marker to move the chains as a last nudge following initial contact was enough to have the replay officials keep the ruling on the field. Had he been unable to convert there, the Bucs would have gone three-and-out (if they didn’t go for it on fourth down) and been punting from deep within their own end. Buffalo would have been given a short field in all likelihood and needing only a field goal to complete the comeback. Following that conversion, Tampa Bay only needed three more plays before Brady connected with Perriman on the game-winner.
Good point, but play of the game? Joe’s not sure. Important, no doubt. But take away the Brady-Evans hookup or the Playoff Lenny run or even the Brady-Perriman connection, the Bucs may not win. Each one of those plays resulted in six points.
Points matter.

Bucs go for it on 4th down if Lenny doesn’t get the friendly spot. No chance Bruce punts there despite the field position. That’s a gut call, one in which the metrics say punt but your gut says go.

You make a compelling argument Joe. If any one of those hadn’t happened, the game outcome very likely would’ve been different. But he same holds true for LVD’s tackle on that last series, or Davis’ defended pass on the play that forced Bills to go for a FG instead of a TD. And probably many more. That was a game of composed of many ‘plays of the game’.

play of the game?????????A rock pounding runner gets 1 yard, play of the game? I want everyone to say that 3 times. Go back to Superbowl 51. There were so many plays that happened to win that game. If Tom fell down running onto the field and broke his right arm blah blah blah. Well Tom didn’t fall down and we won the game. If a frog had wings it wouldn’t bump it’s arse when it hopped. Lots of plays qualify. How about the second play in our final drive? We lost 7 yd on a first down screen to Lenny. Second and 17. Then a short pass to gronk and he rumbles and gets us 14 to make a very manageable third and three. No doubt that final play doesn’t happen if we’re third and 12 or something like that. So I would say gronk’s play is right up there.

To me….a play of the game is one that you really don’t expect success……so, it certainly wouldn’t be Lenny’s 1 yard run.
There were many in this game….but the Evans touchdown catch was spectacular.

Don’t forget the Brady to Evans pass at the end of the first half that put the Bucs on the Bills 2-yard line. Brady was about to be splashed by a blitzing LB and threw the ball while leaning backwards. Evans hadn’t even turned around to look for the ball yet, but it fell perfectly into his arms when he finally did. That set up the Bucs TD that put them up by 21 points at the half.

The game of football is 60 minutes of both teams making big plays. The team that that make the most big plays usually wins. This game was a good example of that!!! Great game! Great Bucs Win!!!

The offensive line week in and week out are the saviors of this team. Brady barely ever gets touched unless he has to hold the ball too long.
You put someone like Jonathan Taylor in this offense and he would destroy the league. Fournette is barely touching the floor of what a really good running back should be accomplishing on this team.
We’re winning, so it’s hard to nit pick, but we needed a running back in the 2nd half if that game that wanted to fight for yards. Period.

I was way down on 4net last season. Yes he finished strong but I believed Rojo was the future. Well this season Lenny has won me over. He runs hard, battles for every yard, and gains significant yards after being hit dragging defenders with him. And now he has established himself as a reliable pass catcher and now an every down player. He has me forget Rojo as a starter and Gio as a pass receiver. And watching him bust tackles on long touchdown runs has been something we have not seen in a long dam time. Playoff Lenny is for real.

The throw and catch in the end was a thing of perfection. High enough to beat the defender but just inside Evans’ reach. But like Brady always says it’s a team game. We needed all of the great plays that were made. GO BUCS!

At first I thought we were very lucky to have been given that 1st down conversion. If it had been ruled 4th down and went to review I don’t think they would have overturned it. It was going to stay with the call on the field.
But then I realized that Brady would have just snuck it on 4th and inches and gotten the conversion, so in my mind that simply can not be the play of the game.

Winny. You can call it down play all you want but you can’t down play our running game. Are you can’t down play the rest of the team. One thing about it once Brady retire I know a lot of yall will be gone . Just like the NE + bucs fan is the only reason why he was here was because he thought Belichick couldn’t win without Brady but now he’s back with his team just like the rest of the Patriots fans yall thought they cared about the Bucs .
