Too Many Weapons For Giants To Handle

November 23rd, 2021

Tommy’s toys.

Yes, Joe and Bucs fans know the Bucs have a sick amount of weapons.

Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski and Playoff Lenny are there for. 17-game-loathing, salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super ]Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

And that’s not factoring in guys like Cam Brate, Tyler Johnson or Breshad Perriman. And oh yeah, Antonio Brown is waiting in the wings.

So when Joe looked at the receiving stats from tonight’s game, Joe was reminded of Joe’s bedrock football belief: Get the ball in the hands of your playmakers and good things happen.

Just check these numbers out:

Name, targets, catches
Mike Evans 11, 6
Rob Gronkowski 8, 6
Chris Godwin 6, 6
Playoff Lenny 6, 6

That’s insane. Your top four pass-catchers all had the exact same number of catches and two of the four had the exact number of targets.

Joe may never have seen anything like that from a Bucs receiving corps, unless it was one catch each for a bunch of schlubs.

“Tom did a great job to spread it around, don’t force-feed it to anybody,” Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said.

He isn’t lying. That is impressive stuff.

That’s what champions do.

It’s a far cry from the days/daze of Jaqeez Green, Robb Thomas and Patrick Hape.

    dont forget reidel anthony

  3. Bucs4821 Says:

I’d like to forget Reidel Anthony too… 😉 as well as Hurt Emanuel 🤷

  4. Coburn Says:

I just want to say I loved our first drive and the plays scripted up. All those screens, end arounds, with some runs and some over the middle. One of the motor creative offenses we have run all year. So different than run up the gut on first and then hood onto the ball and long time and Chuck it. I think they wanted to make sure Brady didn’t get hit hard early again and set the tone. It worked. Guys got into a rhythm

    ^ agreed.

And it was good to see Evans get targeted a lot, even though he uncharacteristically bobbled a few more than normal.

  6. Captain Dan Lawrence Says:

We are in a good place, and may have figured a couple of things out, much like what happened after the bye week last year, look for good things from here out! Go BUCS!

  7. Rod Munch Says:

Actually the top 3 pass catchers all had the same amount…

    6,6,6… 666….

I hope this isn’t some sort of reminder to Brady about his deal with Satan, and it coming due.

  8. steele Says:

Exactly the kind of team win they needed. Brady’s scramble really set the tone.

  9. Bucs since 76 Says:

Rod you don’t think playoff Lenny is one of top pass catchers that means 6,6,6,6
    which means nothing.

  10. bucschamps Says:

Gronk opened up alot of things. that 3rd down catch was crucial you know when the going gets tough, tom will go to gronk

  11. JimBuc2 Says:

I like it. I love it. I want some more of it
    LFG Bucs!
    Let’s Go Brandon!!

This was the Giants. Nothing about this game tells us anything. Frankly, there were sloppy plays like the last 2 games but not as much bad fortune. A few here, a few there, and it was Washington all over.

They did their job. They won. Nothing more. Nothing to celebrate. Next game.

  13. HC Grover Says:

Broke out of the box in front and won going away. I could not watch but had it on radio. I kept hearing all the right names. Sounded good.

  14. Kev@Inverness Says:

You should have that tattooed on your forehead JimBuc2, it would look cute.

  15. Mike Says:

Godwin was a bit underutilized in this one, but I suppose Gronk ate in to his targets a bit, which is OK!

  16. Merlin Says:

Haha. 666 doesn’t refer to the devil and it’s not even the right number.

  17. Kentucky Buc Says:

Still need AB. Some drives stalled when that 3rd option (WR) wasn’t getting separation. AB is a chain mover

  18. kyle Says:

uggh bucs 4821^^^ did you really have to reopen that wound…

  19. TOM Says:

The Bucs really missed Gronk when he was out. Don’t tell me he isn’t TB guy.

They looked like a team possessed last night!! They were NOT going to lose that game!! They played with passion, drive, anger and tenacity!!! That’s a tough team to beat when they come in serious like that!!
