Sean Murphy-Bunting Was The Cavalry The Bucs Needed

November 22nd, 2021

Welcome back!

Yeah, it took a drive or two for Bucs corner Sean Murphy-Bunting to shake the rust off. Once he got into a groove, the Bucs just shut down Danny Dimes.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has had success against Todd Bowles. Bucs fans know this all too well. And early in the game Danny Dimes was clearly targeting SMB as the guy hadn’t played since the first game of the season.

How good was SMB? The official NFL gamebook for tonight has SMB with seven solo tackles and a forced fumble. Joe thought he should have had a pass defensed as well for a pass that looked to be a throwaway by Danny Dimes but SMB knocked it out of bounds.

The Bucs struggled the past two games because their pass coverage was just horrible. Because of injuries, the Bucs had to bank on the likes of Dee Delaney and the bottle of cologne, Pierre Desir. That worked about as well as you think it did.

It didn’t.

Yeah, SMB needed to get back into the flow of gameday. Once he did, this Bucs defense turned the Giants from giving the Bucs a game into the Bucs curb-stomping the boys in blue.

Thank goodness for the cavalry.

Steve Levy said Davis III could be off IR tomorrow. Hope that is correct, although he called Godwin Goodwin half the night. Lol

Hell of a night for SMB and the defense. We are going to be a menace to the NFL once we get Carlton, AB and Vea back. Good luck NFL, you’ve been put on notice.

Tonight was the best the defense has played since the superbowl, awesome to watch, soon into the game it was obvious we were dominant on the defensive side of the ball, really good game!

You know what else helped? Playing all 3 of our good safeties a lot. It’s so strange they waited until they finally got SMB back to do that.. why not play all 3 when they had no corners?

Gronk and SMB had a noticable impact on both sides of the ball tonight! We seem to have our BUCS back!!!

Danny Dimes got short changed. Great to have Gronk and SMB on the field, but Brady was just ruthlessly clinical. The Boys are back in town! Suck it Danny boy

Told yall, corners were our issue

SMB played okay for being his first game back but he was picked on constantly. Dean is proving his worth. When Davis gets back, he and Dean will be tough to beat.
