Scotty Miller Activated

November 23rd, 2021

Ready to play?

Everyone’s favorite little wide receiver is back on the Bucs’ active roster.

The Bucs today pulled receiver Scotty Miller off the injured reserve list and activated him. That means he could play Sunday against the Colts.

Miller played sparingly this year when he was healthy, and the he was battling a nasty turf toe.

Yes, Joe knows the following question is sure to come: “Why wasn’t Scotty activated last night?” The Bucs’ training staff clearly wasn’t ready to sign off on Miller being able to suit up for last night’s game or the Bucs had decided they weren’t going to use him and saved the roster spot.

The Bucs placed Miller (and Sean Murphy-Bunting) on the 21-day window to allow players to practice. They had to be activated once the window closed Nov. 22. Today is Nov. 23. So obviously, the three-week window had closed.

I’ll tell ya one thing mister, TB12 trusts Scooter more than he does Mike Evans.

  2. cmurda Says:

Hell yeah! He’s going to just add to Brady’s options. Gronk back seemed to get Brady back in his groove. A guy that takes the top off the D is so important.

  3. Bobby M. Says:

He’s no AB….but he’s very effective in the role he has. I think the offense is starting to fire on all cylinders with Gronk back which should open things up for everyone else and take pressure off the defense.

  4. NaplesBucsFan Says:

Hey Medicated Pete…who is the most TD receptions on this here Bucs team??? Oh yeah, Mike Evan’s! Man TB12 must not trust him since he has the most TDs. But then what do I know…oh yeah I know reality

  5. zzbuc Says:

@NaplesBucsFan…please don’t answer this troll back…..Ignore him….. He is probably Jameis Winston……Just let him do his little stupid thing……

  6. Steven007 Says:

Constipated Pete, your trolling is terrible. No one is laughing at your ridiculous takes. Except at you.

  7. crazyBucs_CL Says:

Welcome back Scotty; we missed you!
Without AB, without Scotty, our O is good but not spicy. We like it spicy.
TB12 was not exited last night, he is missing his “toys”…

  8. #8 Says:

to be fair…medicated does make me laugh with the insanity.
don’t take it so seriously & dude is good for a laugh here and there.

  9. SOEbuc Says:

    Gimme some AB and CD3

  10. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

“Hey Joe” (Hendrix) – please provide any update on Carlton Davis when you hear something. Know you will, but inquiring minds want to know. Thanks Boss!

  11. Joe Says:

Don’t be dumb, difficult though that may be.

  12. cmurda Says:

Naples. Haven’t you been here long enough to know Pete’s style? He will intelligently respond just enough times for people to try to take him seriously and then he trolls nonsense like he did earlier to get a rise out of folks. You can enjoy his ridiculousness as long as you don’t take it serious.

  13. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Scooter spells bench for Dardin, except perhaps some special teams.

  14. Bojim Says:

Grow a skin guys. Pete’s a fan too.

Although the troll appears to be stirring the pot as usual just to get his attention daily attention ‘fix’, it’s obvious that ME hasn’t yet attained the required level of mental telepathy (or experienced, high level, situational and finessed route running) TB12 demands of receivers wishing to gain access to the GOAT’s innermost circle of trust.

For example, take that second interception in the 1st quarter against Washington. Tom Brady, who is now measuring his own accuracy with a 6 inch margin of error on deep passes, would have NEVER accidentally sailed the ball over ME’s head and into the arms of a defender. No. Brady expected Evan’s to flatten out his cut as there was obvious room to extend the play in the zone defense. Had Evans cut further down field he would have been positioned in front of the defender where only Evans could have caught the ball. Just like Evans did on last night’s TD catch.

But having Miller to ‘take the top off’ the safeties will open up the middle for the TEs and Chris Godwin, etc,, which is why they also signed and activated Perriman. But nothing beats Brady’s Big Old and trusted ‘Gronkie’ to keep these much needed drives alive, to keep our Defense fresh and to keep opposing QBs riding the pine. Watching Washington turn the tables on the Bucs last week with that 10 minute 4th quarter drive was just gut-retching. Todd Bowles Defense will likely not let that happen again this season. Perhaps that loss was a good wake-up call.

  16. PSL Bob Says:

Just another cog in the SB machine that’s back on the field. Another option for TB12, another threat for opponents to prepare for. Hopefully, we’ll have the whole band back together and healthy for the battle of the bands come playoff time.

  17. 2020 The Year of The GOAT Says:

They have to respect Scott’s speed…. Remember what he did to Green Bay right before half time

  18. SB~LV Says:

I’d love to see a photo of that toe 4-7 days after he stubbed it.

  19. firethecannons Says:

Awesome news!!!!!! Love watching Scotty Miller plays–bet Brady is happy too!

  20. Marine Buc Says:

I’m glad Scotty is back. He can be such an effective weapon when healthy.

It was nice to see Perriman step in and make a few nice catches with AB and Miller out… He is a great depth signing.

  21. Cobraboy Says:

Bucs O is best with a deep threat. Absent both Brown & Millier, that’s the piece lacking.

    Nice to see Miller back.

Now let’s get Brown healed up…and chef bills paid.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

Coming back just in time, playing on turf in Indy he should get to show off if he’s fully up to speed or not. I can totally see him coming in on the 2nd place of the game and Brady throwing him a bomb.

  23. Eddie Marz Says:

Anyone realize they Brady and Evans had the two longest rushes from scrimmage (10 yards) than any of the running backs last night. LMAO 👍😂

  24. Infomeplease Says:

It would be nice to see him come in the Colts game on the first drive. Indy could be caught off guard as Scooter runs right up the side line on a play action pass play for a quick six!! GO BUCS!!!

  25. Nonmedicated Pete Says:

Someone tell me how Scotty Miller is relevant. He has 4 TDs in 2 years.

  26. orlbucfan Says:

MedPetey needs to lay off the hootch. That was a slick bit of running Brady did. It obviously shocked the crap out of the G-Men. Anywho, welcome back Scotty!

  27. Colonel Angus Says:

    Nonmedicated Pete:
How are nuclear weapons relevant? They are a threat, like Scooter.

  28. Ben the GA Buc Says:

    StevieGuy, nice post. Agree 100%.

  29. cmurda Says:

Yeah I agree also Ben. Good post Stevie. It’s fair to say M.E isn’t trusted 100% all in by Brady. Trusted, but Brady isn’t about throwing 50/50 balls like Jameis did. Mike is good at those but with a stout offense like ours, that just isn’t necessary or wise.

  30. cmurda Says:

@Nonmedicated. He’s relevant because he made arguably the biggest play in Bucs playoff history. He’s relevant because every other team saw that play and saw his speed. Very relevant.

  31. Redsox/Bucs1 Says:

I agree there was a rare good point by the idiot about ME. He has a few too many mental lapses during games. Saw it last night with the Int and the penalty negating a 30 yard gain. We also see it occasionally when it comes to option routes where he has to read the defense and isn’t on the same page with TB. TB continues to go to him because he’s not an idiot. ME is an all-time talent and they are usually able to overcome the occasional miscommunications. Nice to see Gronk back healthy. The injury may be a blessing in the long run that keeps him fresher for the playoffs. Gronk really opens up the field for that offense both with his receiving and his tremendous blocking. I really hope they can keep him healthy for the playoffs. Still hoping they can get that #1 seed but they’d probably need to win out now or maybe lose one more. Go Bucs!
