Mike Evans Could Make Bucs History Today

November 14th, 2021

Breaking records.

Of course the key objective today is a win. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Bigger fish to fry than just looking for stats.

However, today could be a historic Bucs. Stud receiver Mike Evans is one touchdown away from tying Mike Alstott for most touchdowns in Tampa Bay history.

Pretty freaking awesome.

Other cool Evans numbers: he is one of only five players in NFL history who in his first 115 career games has at least 70 touchdowns and 8,500 receiving yards. The other four? You may have heard of them. Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison and Calvin Johnson.

Oh yes, those four are all in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

And we all know Evans is the only receiver in NFL history to have 1,000 yards in each of his first seven seasons in the league, and counting.

Yes, Evans is a special, special player.

The best WR to don a Bucs uniform. We’re lucky to have him. Just think fellow fans, we are witnessing history, NFL history!

  2. Medicated Pete Says:

Gruden ruined Alstott’s career. Should’ve had a 100 tuddies & a Hall of Fame career but Pete hopes Evans has big game today

  3. DoooshLaRue Says:

The term tuddies needs to go away.

  4. Buc50 Says:

Wasted Pete thinks Mark Alstott could have made it to the HOF now that’s funny. He was popular but HOF material he was not.

  5. Alan Collingwood Says:

I agree, DoooshLaRue, where the &^%# did that term come from? Let’s start a petition!

  6. Steven007 Says:

Constipated Pete, nice to see you make cogent points.

  7. Mort Says:

Tuddies is a Brady / Gronk expression. I’m not about to complain how our GOAT @ QB wants to refer to his touchdowns.

  8. Tim in PSL Says:

I never thought I’d say this two days in a row, but I agree with Pete. He may not have had a HOF career, but I always felt Alstott was very underused. I know we had Dunn also, but I always Alstott could’ve been a stand alone back, even if he gave Mayberry backaches lol.

  9. BigMacAttack Says:

Letting Warrick Dunn leave was a colossal screw up, almost as bad as letting Matt Bryant go. And then there’s John Lynch. This could go on and on. Finally righted the ship after many years

  10. Marine Buc Says:

Mike Alstott was a beast (especially in the 4th qtr) but he was never the same after his neck injury. It wasn’t Gruden’s fault…

  11. mark2001 Says:

    Mike…Mike…Mike…

Don’t give the second touchdown ball to a fan…

    😁😲🤑

  12. WillieG Says:

When Evans breaks the record, Brady ought to give the ball to a fan. You know, just for fun.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We need to have a strong run game today…..need OJ, Brate & Tyler to step up.and we need to get our head out of our a$$es on penalties…..

  14. adam from ny Says:

    mike evans is the man…

but you can’t front, when alstott banged his way thru defenses the way he did, nothing was better than an alstott touchdown or big burly run…

that said, yeah chucky ruined mark alstott’s numbers big time – what a shame – but i’m sure mark is a just a little glad karma came back to ruin chucky’s career to some extent too…

mike evans is the man nowadays on offense…but when tommy terrific is around, then the goat trumps the man…lol…

in fact the goat trumps everyone in the building…and i mean everyone…

    also…

warrick dunn is one of the most underrated players in nfl history imho…

dude was always undersized and still came up big…with 15,000 all purpose yards in his 12 year career…look it up if you’re sleeping on him…he had like five 1,000 yard season and about 11,000 yards rushing – with very nice receiving numbers out of the backfield too…if he’s not a debatable hall of famer than i don’t know who is…also he is 19th on the all time rushing list…

also it seems like that he played longer in atlanta than tampa…

    warrick dunn is underrated

  15. Bird Says:

    Mark2001

Haha. No doubt. Keep that ball
He is a baller that is so humble. Love mike!

  16. Listnfrmafar Says:

Tampa, WFT is decent against the run and last against the pass, why run??? Evan’s is going to shatter that record. How about AB right behind after sitting a season and having some injuries. How good is he? Tuddies is OK, I prefer titties.

  17. Swampbuc Says:

    WillieG – ROTFLMAO!

  18. adam from ny Says:

    joe and the gang –

did you know next week we were supposed to rock the all pewter unis vs the giants…

but they changed it for some reason unknown…

now the bucs are scheduled to be wearing red jerseys with white pants next week….wtf

  19. Joe Says:

    Adam:

Did not know that. But Joe’s all for it if that is the case.

  20. DoooshLaRue Says:

Red jerseys with white pants is our worst look but still better than the JayMiss unis.

  21. Buc king Says:

The term tuddies is forever now

  22. JimmyJack Says:

That list is actually very sad. Over 40 years and only 2 players in all that time have more then 50 TDs?

A real testament to a franchise that consistently struggled to build an offense. In many ways Mike Evans was the single player that changed all that. Couldnt think of a better player to own that record and hopefully he sits atop that list with 100+ someday, showcasing just how much better modern day Bucs offesnse are vs the historical Bucs offenses.

  23. Man Child Says:

Guy is a freak. Best of luck down the stretch. We will need it….
