This award, it’s not about greed or voodoo or an ability to realign.
This award, given weekly by NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt, is “Angry Runs.” And the name is pretty much self-explanatory. It is given for the most physical run in the NFL.
Now you don’t often see wide receivers getting this award. They are dainty. They are often divas. They are sometimes soft if not brittle.
Not Chris Godwin. He’s got the mentality of a fullback in a wide receiver’s body. Sunday when Godwin caught a pass and neared the left sideline, Godwin simply Conti’ed chirpy Saints corner C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
“Good Morning Football” co-host and former Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall believed Godwin spoke for all wide receivers when he made mouthy Gardner-Johnson eat turf pellets on the play.
For this week, Brandt said the award is not “Angry Runs,” but “Godsmack” in honor of Godwin.
Today, with “Angry Runs,” Godwin stands alone.

Evans is not as well rounded as Godwin.
Evans is elite at what he does, take the top off and make contested catches on sideline. The only guys that are in his category in that regard imo is hopkins, Keenan Allen and adams.

Speaking of passion, how many times did Mike have to be restrained early on in his career after a play about something he felt was an injustice.
The combination of Mike becoming a father and Todd Monkin really caused Mike to mature and stop getting overly aggressive penalties.

Yes, it’s nice that we have both on the team right now.
I just wonder how sustainable both those contracts are for us.
If we could afford both of them long term then I think CG would have been offered a long contract and not tagged.

Godwin because he is younger! As far as similarities ME has always had better yards years and TD years because of his specialty at contested catches and ability to take double teams.
Godwin is more talented in route running an YAC
Pretty much a double edged sword if you look at it objectively.

The very second I saw Godwin’s play, I rewound it, and immediately thought: “Angry Run finalist this week.” That was a great play and it should’ve ignited the passion in the rest of the Bucs team.

First off, that stiff-arm was a thing of beauty. I was off my couch!!!
2nd, Mike Evans is a superior WR. Disagree? Has CG had 1,000 yds receiving in each year? Has he had 7 consecutive?
Now, does that take anything away from Chris? Heck no! BUT, you simply cannot compare the two. There are aspects of each’ game that the other may not have. However, you simply CANNOT diminish Mike as a WR. His stats say so. He’s a legit HOF WR, period.
Maybe you don’t like him in general, I don’t know. What I do know is that we have one of the most dangerous WR corps in the NFL, and I don’t even know that it’s close. Name a better 1-2 punch. Name a better 1-2-3 punch.
Name it, lets argue it.

Hey Joe, friends of mine from a long time ago “Jackyl” also has a song called I stand alone. Thats when they first got Jesse as their singer and they had to let Ronnie go…it was magic after that and they took off….acdc type of sound…good sht though, but its old. I partied with them when in was 17-20, ran the spotlight for some of their shows when they were local.

All you fan boys do realize that mike is our number one and faces the number 1 cb each game. They game plan for him. Godwin is a great player but flip the role and have mike going against the 2nd or 3rd corner and Godwin on the 1. We are bucs fans we should all remember the worst number 2 wide receiver signing in history to be your #1 Alvin Harper. Mike evans gets the best corner every week and is still breaking records. Go watch Texas a&m Alabama and tell me how manziel won that game. It was because of a number 13. When teams don’t keep a safety high he gets 150. I mean damn last week versus a top 5 defense he caught 3 tds. If he want grabbed on the first bomb he would have had 2 more against another top 5 defense

The same dummies every week (Pete and Robert) seem to forget that all Evans does year in and year out in score TDs, go for over 1000 yards, and routinely manhandle DBs on the opposing teams.

Evans is as tough as they come. He’s a different kind of runner than Godwin. It’s like comparing Barry Sanders to Derrick Henry. Their both great both have different styles. GO BUCS GO CHRIS AND GO MIKE!
