Trust Issues For Vita Vea

October 19th, 2021

It seems beasting in the playoffs and the Super Bowl last season did not represent a green light to health in the mind of Vita Vea.

More than six months later, Vea’s position coach believed he was still unsure of playing on his broken ankle.

The psychological effects of an injury are often an untold story, and Bucs defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers went there this afternoon at One Buc Palace.

“This year coming out of camp or whatever, we really thought he was a little sluggish, wasn’t really totally trusting his leg after the injury and just missing the play time and the reps,” Rodgers said of Vea. “But right now, the last couple of weeks, he is kind of really, really coming into his own. He’s more comfortable. And since the first day he walked through the door, I’ve always I think he gets better every day. I really do. I think he’s really a constant professional when it comes to working at his craft. You know, with this kid, if he keeps working, then the sky is the limit for him.”

Joe’s actually glad to hear this about Vea. If true, it means his signficant improvement is likely to continue.

Also, Joe hopes Vea coming on very strong this months means the Bucs will give him more snaps.

I think Kacy is being a bit obtuse over an injury so acute.

  2. SausageKingOfChicago Says:

Leighroy, Andy Dufresne wants to know How can you be so obtuse?

If a bone heals properly, it is actually stronger at the place where it was broken. The extra bone thickness at that spot can cause stiffness though if it’s near a joint.

  4. Lamarcus Says:

Well Vea will need some more NT moves. Vea power game is cool but come on, That power move will wear you down quicker. Right now, There’s really no reason to have Vea play more anyway

This helps to explain the approximately 50% of plays for Vita.

Very obtuse thinking to say he couldn’t play on his broken angle

That’s a 90 degree angle of his ancle when it was broken that I haven’t thought of.

  8. Rod Munch Says:

That is interesting and not really something I considered when looking at his playtime and seeing he’s only a part time player. I just figured it was because he’s fat and was getting winded. If it’s the coaches just be cautious, that’s great news, since it means he should play more as the season goes along. It sounds like a bandhanded statement, but I’m being legit, I think it’s great news if that is what is going on.

Let my man eat. Is there a rule about throwing guards at the QB?

  10. Jay Bee Says:

Try spell check next time. “Broken angle”. Hope you’re not paid for this.

I’d like to see him throw one up in the air to deflect a pass!

Jay Bee gets both the Party Pooper award for raining on our parade and the Brightest Crayon in the Box award for advocating spell check for the word “angle.” Spelling looks good bro! Lighten up.

    Spelchek on ‘ancle’, not ‘angle’!

Ok, someone tell me what is an ‘ancle’? Never heard of it. Personally, I have sprained an ankle before, but never an ancle.
    You guys are priceless.
    LFG Bucs!

Glad to hear it. In my opinion, the best play of the Eagles game, was Vea stopping Miles Sanders dead in his tracks. You rarely see an RB hit a brick wall and stop instantly. Very impressive strength.

  19. Wild Bill Says:

What the hell? How can you knock Vea when he has been driving double team blocking back into the qbs face play after play. Of course he needs a break sometimes. The man is a human bull dozer.
