MVP Tom Brady?

October 12th, 2021

MVP worthy play.

Had the NFL media types voted on Most Valuable Player after the 2020 season, it’s very hard to imagine that Bucs quarterback Tom Brady would not have been given the award.

But voting is completed immediately following the regular season.

The way Brady is playing this year, documents CBS Sports, it’s easy to suggest he’s among the front-runners.

If the Bucs win the NFC South — Joe has way too much respect for the Stinking Panthers and the slimy Saints to crown the Bucs’ division champs just yet — Joe isn’t sure how one could argue Brady isn’t among the top three or four MVP candidates.

Surely, just based on recent history, it’s no coincidence the Bucs became one of the league’s top teams the moment Brady walked through the players’ entrance at One Buc Palace.

Perhaps Joe should start a weekly Tuesday morning scorecard of the top MVP candidates along with Brady?

Tom brady , kyler murray or karen rodgers

    Who wins mvp?

  2. Casual Observer Says:

Too early. Wait for mid-season, at least.

  3. Devin DiPalma Says:

Casual is probably right from a realistic standpoint but I’m all for this starting right now lol

  4. Robert Says:

he’ll never get it this year. they EXPECT it from him and are probably resentful.

  5. rrsrq Says:

As great as Brady played on Sunday, I expect Josh Allen, Justin Herbert or Lamar Jackson to get offensive player of the week. Really they should just give it to the Chargers v. Browns game

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Brady, Stafford, Murray…….the Rams & Cardinals play each other……

As for Rodgers….the Packers’ schedule is brutal….they may lose 2 or 3 more games…..

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Packers have….>Cardinals, Chiefs, Ravens, Rams & Browns left on their schedule….

  8. Winny Testaverde Says:

I like the MVP Scoreboard idea for Tuesday’s…I say run with it. Speaking of…the league is dying to give it to Runnin’ Kyler Murray…who looks great at times and lil’ and underwhelming at other times. Just like Murray being chosen over Brady for the Pro Bowl last year…keep the slights coming on the way to The Super Bowl ( hopefully ).

  9. Beeej Says:

After last night Jackson has to be in that mix

  10. Listnfrmafar Says:

If you remember last season he wasn’t even voted to probowl, Murray, Wilson & Roger’s. Although he deserves it NO chance.

  11. PassingThru Says:

Definitely Jackson will be in the mix.

I’ll add on more name: Josh Allen. Allen started the season slow, but the last three games he heated up. The stats aren’t as distinguished as some of the others but then there are a dozen games left to be played.

  12. Duane Says:

Its a looong season. Remember when Russ was cooking last season? Its all early season hype. TB12 is in a good position, but later in the season the argument will be that he is surrounded by too much talent. He appears to enjoy a different set of hardware, and I am gonna stick with the GOAT.

  13. Buczilla Says:

Kyler and Herbert are fun to watch and they are playing lights out, but Brady is easily the MVP so far this year and should have won it last year. When you do something great in any sport that no one has ever accomplished it should trump everyone else’s great years. Dude is 44 and playing as well or better than everyone else right now. He probably won’t get it since he plays for us and there is a lot of hate out there for him, but who knows?

  14. SlyPirate Says:

TB12 will be 1st in Yards and TDs after this week.

What’s odd is he’s not first in MVP consideration?

  15. Ash Says:

People are probably just tired of giving mvp to tom Brady every year he has been elite so long just voter fatigue

  16. Delusional Intelligence Says:

I vote for posting that around week 12-15. CBS Sports only does it because they seem to lack the ability to post quality content on a regular basis.

Personally, I’d be more interested in how many games has it been since the Bucs Battalion has given up a total of 100 yards rushing? A different take on the Johnny Harbaugh & Ravens so-called “Meaningless Record”.

Maybe another idea for week 12-15. How is Mike Evans doing on his quest for another 1000 yd season? Will we have three or four 1000 yd pass catchers?
