Leonard Fournette And His Strong Game

October 26th, 2021

Money.

A football thinktank is giving the Bucs’ No. 1 running back some love this week.

Playoff Lenny had a strong game against the Bears. Playoff Lenny had 90 yards from scrimmage and 81 came on the ground.

But what Vincent Verhei documents on Football Outsiders is, per the outfit’s statistical mumbo jumbo, Playoff Lenny was their No. 5 runner of the week. Specifically, what made Playoff Lenny’s performance against the Bears special was that he was a money back.

Meanwhile, he ran for seven first downs, including gains of 12, 12, and 15 yards.

That’s called moving the chains and eating up the clock. That’s exactly the type of running that both wins ballgames and makes Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians smile.

Keep it up Playoff Lenny!

4Net should have been the starter Week 1.
    Vaughn should be #2.

  2. Medicated Pete Says:

This team is just toying w/ their opponents in order to get ready for the playoffs. This will never happen again w/o a TB12

  3. BuucccNASTY he p Says:

Pete, I agree. Pretty crazy we are able to do that with injuries still a factor..

  4. Robert Says:

I disagree. JW would have done the same thing with this team. just look at him now in NO!

  5. SufferingSince76 Says:

We have no clue how JW would do with this team and I, for one, am glad for that.

  6. BigPoppaBuc Says:

RoJo also ran well. The O-line was owning the bears and the running Lanes were there for the taking. Fournette is playing great but RoJo can still be very useful. Don’t want Fournette getting too comfortable. RoJo came in for a series and looked good, which imo keeps Fournette in prove it mode.

    Bigpoppa: good call GO BUCS!

  8. adam from ny Says:

lenny is giving rojo not even an inch of room to move in on his spot

  9. Swampbuc Says:

    If I weren’t having Brady’s baby I’d have Lenny’s.

  10. PSL Bob Says:

On this team, the pass sets up the run. If you’re having trouble covering the receivers and TEs, you can’t have as many in the box. That, plus the stout O-line play, opens up the running game.

Rojo did have some good angry runs, but no way he’s as good as 4Net.

ROBERT- Stop being a hater ! First of all, you know NOTHING!! Go root for the AINTS and your favorite QB JW !! Unbelievable that we are in the middle of the BEST couple years the Bucs might EVER HAVE , and it’s STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR SOME PEOPLE !! BANDWAGON FANS … GO BUCS

  12. Kaimaru Says:

  13. You gotta be crazy Says:

@Robert…. Living proof not too buy drugs from Pete… Too pure for ya

  14. DaBux Says:

Dude is ballin’ his arse off. He deserves all the love and TB12 LOVES having some consistency in the running game.

  15. Swampbuc Says:

Drinking a bottle of JD after eating a quaalude and smoking a bag of weed isn’t wise for someone who sustained a debilitating head injury at birth.

Robert, go sleep it off man.
