Goat Throws

October 27th, 2021

NextGen stats on Tom Brady.

One huge reason Tom Brady came to the Bucs was the dangerous receivers the Bucs already on the roster.

And those receivers’ abilities to offer a crack of a window to throw into is often all Brady needs to make magic.

NextGen Stats, the outfit owned by the NFL that bases its stats from raw data originating in technology embedded in players’ equipment, put out a cool video of three of Brady’s biggest throws on Sunday against the Bears.

For each throw, NextGen gives the probability of the pass being completed and how much separation the receivers, Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, had on their defenders.

Joe won’t spoil the details but let’s just say Brady had to be on the money to complete all three passes.

These plays are just a small sample of how friggin’ accurate Brady is with a football. It’s really something to appreciate.

Our Top WR can’t get separation that’s why they have to be perfect throws

I vote for Medicated Pete as the president of the M Evans fan club lol lol lol

Accuracy is the number 1 thing for a QB, it seperates the men from the boys.

I hope “if or when” Trask ever plays QB for the Bucs, that he is actually accurate like what is said about him. Time will tell if Trask is really accurate on the NFL level, with all the small windows to throw the ball.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  4. Swampbuc Says:

The last throw to Mike was a Picasso, a Rembrandt, with shaggy bear hanging all over him. This guy is a Buc. Pinch me, Dilfer!

  5. Coburn Says:

In all seriousness Pete I still think Evans fit a system like Koetter a little better. He’s not a burner, but uses his size well a d has great body control

  6. Medicated Pete Says:

    @Coburn

#13 should be used as a posession WR like Keyshawn Johnson was unless there’s 1 on 1 coverage where no DB should be able to steal the ball from him

A YouTube vid shows Brady firing into a Jugs machine from 20-30yds out only to have the machine lob the football right back to him. After a couple reps of this TB12 sends a frozen rope fastball into the Jugs hard enough to knock the machine to the ground. Pretty cool showboating by the GOAT!
    LFG Bucs

  8. Kentucky Buc Says:

Accuracy with Zip. A lot of guys are accurate until they have to put some zip on the ball.

  9. ModHairKen Says:

Compare this to when Jameis was here. Jameis never hit guys in stride. Always relied on the superior skill and desire of the receivers. Brady is accurate. So accurate that when he misses a few it’s almost a surprise. Like last Sunday.

I bet this Sunday, everyone plays at a much higher level, across the board, than last week. If the Saints pas protection is even 50% better than against Seattle, Tampa will sac Jameis at least 4 times. His throws will wobble. Picks will come.

  10. Bird Says:

In comedy football movie “wildcats” when they steal the other teams mascot – a goat.

Lets get a GOAT for” GOAT throws” 😂
    Just sounds funny.
Brady throws a TD , run the GOAT onto the field

Oh a dont even respond to medicate pete. Yah , evans is no good. Only has been doubled for years so other teams must think he is trash too. And currently , has 7 tds in 7 games this year. And he is no meshawn
You realize pete is also howard cosell and both talk in third person
You think pete has any friends ? Or has even kissed a girl? I think not. That is why he is able to post first every article. Just like tmax used too. Isnt that right tmax? I mean pete

  11. Listnfrmafar Says:

I’ll bet if the throws were to AB or Gronk, the accuracy stats wouldn’t have to be so high.

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

I know this is irrelevant but Julian Edleman was the master at separation.

    NextGen stats are amazing!

Pete, sometimes you are funny. But often your comments are idiotic. I’d like to see you catch that ball with a 20 year old athlete hanging all over you. Just stupid.

    Yes very much agree.
Accuracy at the NFL level is very different than College. Tight windows to throw and you have to also throw people open. College you can get away with stuff, BUT not the NFL. That’s why I mentioned Trask, can he do it at the NFL level. Time will tell.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  16. Keith Says:

Mike Evans better step his game up. He almost dropped that 46 yard dime.

  17. Mike Says:

Like John Madden used to say, “If you’re even you’re leavin'”. Evans had a step on the deep ball and that’s all he needs with Brady droppin’ dimes in the bucket!
