Bruce Arians Contradicts NFL Network Report, Says Lavonte David Has High Ankle Sprain

October 11th, 2021

Bruce Arians updates several injuries, including to Lavonte David.

So what’s really going on with Lavonte David’s bad ankle?

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport has been barking today about David having a low ankle sprain rather than a high angle sprain. The latter is typically more serious.

But Bucco Bruce Arians told media again late this afternoon that David has a “high ankle sprain,” and “it’s just a matter of when he can run and cut on it, and we’ll wait and see.”

Arians added that David does not have severe swelling. So the injury mystery rolls on.

What is no mystery is David will miss Thursday night’s game in Philadelphia. Kevin Minter will replace him in the starting lineup.

Arians updated his other wounded warriors, saying Rob Gronkowski (rib) is very close, cornerback Carlton Davis (quad) will not need surgery, and Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow) and Davis do not have timetables for their returns.

  1. David Says:

How the hell can Gronk be close if he broke ribs? I’ve broken ribs, nothing can heal it except rest. The first 1-2 weeks it hurts to breathe.

I saw Davis is on IR and out 4-6.

  2. SlyPirate Says:

Defense played good enough without LVD. They’ll be fine vs Philly.

  3. BA4President Says:

@David Good point about Gronk. Maybe he does have super powers?!

  4. Listnfrmafar Says:

No comment on BA, I can’t do this anymore.

  5. TBSwarm Says:

Next man up. Im thankful that, while the injuries are a pain to deal with, none of these are season or career ending. Hope the players get the rest they need and can get back when they are ready.

Hopefully we can keep winning as homefield advantage in the playoffs will be huge vs the Rams, Cardinals and the Packers.

  6. David Says:

Nothing for you to do, BA is fantastic and the BUCS won a Super Bowl, so there you have it.

  7. Casual Observer Says:

Not high. Not low. How about a medium ankle sprain?

Everything coaches say I ignore. Stats and coaches lie in football

Bruce needs to hit the steam room and try to sweat out the ammonia floating around in his brain

The Gronk-a-saurus will be back soon. Dude is a tank.

    Thursday is anybody’s guess….
