Bears Game Is Personal For Devin White

October 18th, 2021

Locked in on Chicago.

It was minutes after the Bucs won Thursday night and sitting on a TV set in Philadelphia, Bucs linebacker Devin White’s head was in Chicago.

The Bucs host the Bears Sunday and White seems as if he has been looking forward to this game since the schedule was released in April.

It’s payback time for White and the Bucs, he told a national audience on NFL Network Thursday night. The Bucs, White said, were shamed by the Bears on national television and White said it is time to even the scales.

When NFL Network host Colleen Wolfe asked White how he was going to enjoy his mini-bye week with the weekend off, White said he would ride his horse, go through some physical therapy, and lock in on the Bears.

“I feel like this game coming up, it’s personal,” White said. “I know it is for me and my team as well. We played them on a Thursday night [last year] and we got embarrassed. We shot ourselves in the foot.”

Of course, the Bucs got outmuscled and outsmarted in that game, including dumb play after dumb play resulting in a lot of flags. No one was innocent. Even Tom Brady forgot how to count to four.

And at one point, Brady got so fed up with the offensive penalties, he tore into his offensive line on the sidelines and read the riot act to them.

White said the best way to play a smart game Sunday is to dive right in to research Chicago and that was how he was going to spend much of this past weekend.

“Even though we are off [for the weekend] and regrouping, I feel we can get a step ahead on the Bears,” White said.

As Joe wrote earlier, the Bears, while they may not be great, certainly are physical and Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn can throw their weight around.

Love the attitude, love the approach. Go kick some bear azz!

  3. Mark Says:

Not to mention what they did to Fitzpatrick and Winston a couple years back.

  4. Bird Says:

Read the riot act to them

    😂. Good one joes

Yup the penalties went way down after that game
Remember ndog lost it because of brady yelling. Calling out brady leadership
And the rest is history. Just like ndog
    Coward

  5. Swampbuc Says:

Agree with many others. Appreciate his desire, but STFU. Don’t you think Mack and Quinn are reading this stuff? Not to mention Nagy.

    Man talk that sh!t
    Boom they a$$ Sunday.
    Go Bucs

  7. Teflon Don Says:

Who cares if they are reading this stuff? What White said isn’t bulletin board material or trash talk its just how he feels. Can’t be scared of anyone! All these teams are going to bring their best out against us anyway we are the CHAMPS. Bears cant score enough points to keep up with us… time to put the kids to bed

  8. Leighroy Says:

Nagy can read all the motivation he wants, it won’t improve his OL, skill positions, or play calling. I’m sure Mack, Quinn and Roquan Smith are all adequately motivated to face Joe’s favorite farm animal.

The bears are an inferior team and the real person in revenge mode – Tom Brady – still wears a Bucs jersey. This should be a dominant performance on the side of the ball that matters most.

  9. August 1976 Buc Says:

D White is trying to brag or saying some kind of crazy crap.
He was part of the embarrassing Sh*t show last year at Chi town.

And to really be concerned what Mack or Quinn are reading?

Just imagine what is being said behind closed doors at 1 Buc Palace about this game. The Bears are the ones that need to be concerned.

The Bucs will more than be ready for this game, there is no way the Bears are more ready for this game than the Bucs.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  10. The Daily Coroner Says:

    ………………….

I don’t think so. They are both just racist P.O.S. that got their cards pulled.
They are too weak to come back and admit they were wrong.

  14. Show Me the TDs Says:

I think what gets people PO’ed at White is that he played so well at the end of last season. Makes you wonder…is he lazy, mentally weak? Obviously he has all the physical tools. 4 or 5 good/great performances does not make a career. STFU and play, already.

  16. Mike Says:

I like his mentality and don’t mind him talking. That’s part of who he is. We just need to see him back up the swagger on the field more this year.

    Every game should be personal

  18. SlyPirate Says:

    Odds of Making the Playoffs
    6-1 – 85%
    7-1 – 95%

Work hard to finish before the bye with 2 wins.

  19. Mike Johnson Says:

Talk less Mr. White. Play harder and better. You can talk Sh..after you win another SB

I miss the days when you could post something and folks could post back to change your mind on said topic💩

  21. Swampbuc Says:

Of the Bucs 6 games, the loss to the Rams was a beatdown, the score was closer than the game indicates.

Of the Bucs 5 wins, Cowboys and Patriots were absolute nail biters. The Falcons and Dolphins games were close until the 4th quarter, and even the Eagles game, which the Bucs controlled, allowed Jalen Hurts to look like John Elway on their last two drives.

This Bucs team is a bounce or two, a ref’s call or two, from being 3-3. No one should be talking about dominations of anything. Just win a game.

  22. David Says:

    Cobraboy
White does not need to “shut up and play”
He is a talker and a motivator and he has earned the right to Yap away

  23. LakelandSteve Says:

Hey Daily Coroner, do you actually watch the games? It’s not like White is out there missing a bunch of tackles. The plays the opponents are calling are mainly quick pass plays to the outside. Just the fact that White starts out in the middle of the field makes it quite difficult for him to have a bunch of tackles right now when opponents are trying to stay away from him. None of these teams want to see White start lighting everyone up and start a feeding frenzy like he did in the playoffs. Game over at that point.
