Tommy Did It Again

September 29th, 2021

Power of persuasion.

In another life, Tom Brady must have been a helluva salesman.

In his video announcing his new team, Bucs cornerback Richard Sherman said a huge selling point to his signing today is that Mr. Seven Rings contacted him to pitch playing for the Bucs.

Sherman discussed all the teams that he was speaking with — one was the Stinking Panthers — and it seems Brady’s chat was the dealbreaker.

“Tom Brady reached out,” Sherman said. “[The Bucs were] a tremendous opportunity for him. The all-time great quarterback reaching out. Anytime he makes that call, it is a very difficult opportunity to pass up.

“I’ve had enough conversations.”

And so there you have it. The Bucs have a veteran cornerback with a Hall of Fame resume ready to rock and defend the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Joe is stoked this morning.

TB12 is everything but the owners (the 7 Glazer Kids).

  2. SB~LV Says:

Well he is a Buc now so I will support the signing!
Hope he still has playing legs

  3. Bradinator Says:

Winning is it’s own tonic for what ails ya. I expect he can still jam a guy on the line…something we are sadly lacking.

Screw ring of honor (not really) we need to build a statue of this man outside raymond james stadium.

  5. ocala Says:

TB12 not only the best football player of all time, but he also is a great person and teammate that people gravitate towards.

Welcome to the team Big Sherm!

  7. August 1976 Buc Says:

Hey Joe again, please add #1 salesman to Bradys moniker lol

RS will help this Secondary grow a pair.
Glad someone comes in with some swag.
Seeing that scared look on Deans face in multiple games so far, just never is a good look for a NFL player.

Mike Smith super soft cushion defence has been seen way to much already in the first 3 games.

Time for some in your face defensive back play.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

I do feel better. The “gravediggers” have looked more like the “post-hole diggers” so far this season.

  9. Casual Observer Says:

If he shapes up (as AB did) as I think he will, he could be a terrific addition. Our pass D need all the help it can get. His smarts/experience could really have an impact.

  10. crazyBucs_CL Says:

thank you Tom for your involvement, leadership, love for the game.
..never seen more genuine competitor than YOU.
We are lucky to have YOU.
TB12, please fire BA and DC Todd… if you could.. 🙏

  11. Listnfrmafar Says:

Take that Oneilbucyall, could Jamais do that. This is the 44 yr old QB sitting on the bench Sunday with a little over a minute left disappointed his special team’s couldn’t retrieve the perfect onside kick. He wasn’t done yet, NO quit in TB12.

  12. tampabuscsbro Says:

Hey Joe have you looked into that book coming out about Belicheck and brady?

    It’s better to be feared

So far there is some telling things in it.

  13. Hodad Says:

Only problem I have with the signing is I hope the Buc players don’t think this solves their problems. As we’ve seen the last three weeks just showing up on the field with the most talent isn’t always enough. If Sherman is to bestow any wisdom it has to be learned, and applied with hard work. The rest of our play makers still need to show up.

When the GOAT speaks, players listen

A good border collie herding sheep will actually nip the sheep in the butt to get them moving in the right direction. We need these vets to nip a few butts now and get this group moving again in the right direction. With Sherman added, plenty of “daddy’s” in the house now to get some new focus.

  16. Beeej Says:

And WHO leads the NFL on fantasy points? Murray…..no. Jackson….no. TOM BRADY does!

  17. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

Any thoughts that Sherman can’t play need to be erased by the TB12 endorsement. Gone are the days of players with nothing left in the tank coming here to steal money and ultimately retire. While I have a high level of confidence in BA and Licht, I have the utmost confidence if TB12 wants to get it done.

  18. Jmarkbuc Says:

Maybe we should call him”Licht House”

  19. Oneilbuc Says:

Listnfrmafar. I’m so happy for you that Brady brings so much joy to your life !!

Just a short time ago Jason Licht was all but washed up, in his back pocket was his last nickel and the phone number of an old indebted friend. He made the call and Arians came aboard, the rest is history. Arians has a big mouth with the media. He wanted Brady and let it be known. Brady is the catalyst for all the rest.
