Sam Acho Of ESPN Believes Bucs’ Weakness Is Guards And Right Tackle

August 28th, 2021

Lazy analysis after partying with Bucs players and coaches.

Hey Sam, lay off the Hennessy at weddings and try to do just a wee bit of research, eh?

Now Joe has no problem with former Bucs linebacker Sam Acho. He had a cup of coffee with the Bucs in 2019. And Joe really likes his brother, Emannuel Acho, who is a sharp and thoughtful voice on one of FS1’s weekday hollering shows, “Speak for Yourself.”

BSPN, having lost Emmanuel Acho to FOX, apparently figured one Acho is as good as the other and so they hired Sam.

And in a recent edition of “Stay in Bed,” Sam Acho may have said the absolute most ill-informed thing about the Bucs Joe can remember in recent times. Maybe since last year when nitwit Rob Ninkovich said to save the Bucs and maybe have a winning season Bruce Arians needed to be fired.

(Oddly enough, Ninkovich and Acho appeared on the very same show Joe is referencing. Good grief, who is the braindead producer?).

When asked what stood in the way of the Bucs repeating, Acho had some wild arse analysis.

Acho believes the WTF will likely beat the Bucs in a playoff rematch. He said WTF has a good enough defense to stop the Bucs and Tampa Bay struggled with a backup WTF quarterback.

Acho came to this conclusion, in part, because he said he was at a wedding this offseason with current Bucs defenders and coaches. There, Acho said he witnessed outside linebackers coach Larry Foote clown some of his Bucs players for their inability to tackle WTF quarterback Taylor Heinicke.

So Acho is basing his analysis on dudes drinking at a wedding needling each other, not any sort of sober research or tape-watching? Well, at least he’s candid about it. That’s a good thing.

Wonder if Acho was aware Devin White missed that WTF playoff game due to The Sickness?

As Joe stated above, lay off the free wedding drinks, Sam.

It got better (or worse, depending on your sense of humor). Acho believes the weak link of the Bucs is the offensive line, specifically guards and right tackle.

Yeah, you read that right.

Yeah, he said that.

Judging by how Acho believes the Bucs struggled with a fourth-string quarterback (is Heinicke the WTF’s expected starter?) and that Bucs guards and right tackle are vulnerable, Joe thinks it is safe to type that Acho didn’t watch any Bucs playoff games last year. At least, not sober.

If anyone wants to Instagram Ali Marpet or Twitter or Instagram Tristan Wirfs with a link to this story, feel free. Might make their day.

(Pppsssttt, Sam: Your former teammate Demar Dotson hasn’t been with the Bucs since you left.)

This is simply the purist example of lazy analysis you will find.

And people really wonder why Joe has a hangup about BSPN.

See and hear for yourself in the BSPN video below.

    Nacho libre?

That guy makes a half mil a year having no clue what he is talking about. Straight diarrhea cha cha cha from the mouth. What a joke

Yes tristan wirfs (“could” be our best tackle of all time ) and Ali Marpet (our best guard of all time) suck

  4. August 1976 Buc Says:

lol lol lol lol nothing like showing your backside in front of the world lol lol lol Beyond lazy analysis, just plain dumb by Acho. He is not brain dead, a good guy, but you would not know it by his example poop on display. lol lol

  5. Long John Says:

    ACHOLE oops my bad.

  6. Leighroy Says:

I’m not one to begrudge indulging in free wedding drinks, but usually most sane people wake up in the morning and sober up.

  7. Rod Munch Says:

Yeak, Wirfs is already one of the best RT’s in the game, should be at worst a starting pro-bowl caliber player. Meanwhile Marpet should be an all-pro guard, and I’d expect him to finally get his due this season.

But that is the Bucs weakness.

I bet this guy watched tape of Ryan Smith and thought the guy would be a starter in the NFL for a decade, and probably thought Justin Watson would be a starter on any other team, but the Bucs depth chart buried him. LOL!

  8. Kgh4life Says:

This is why I don’t watch ESPN or NFL Network anymore, these so called analysts have no idea what they’re talking about. They don’t watch game film or know who’s on team’s roster.

  9. Medicated Pete Says:

Sam must be offering his services for free b/c i turn the channel anytime i see his mouth moving

  10. Drunkinybor Says:

This is why I am done watching these stupid shows. Everything is horrible week 1 Bucs lose Patriots win and BOOM Brady can’t win without Billy. Same over reactions and attention wanters. Then you have the supposed es9n experts who say this crappy drivel with a straight face. The sports crap today is Like a man’s soap opera. Rumor here rumor there what if to get suck they are great fire the coach Brady and Billy some more rumors on and on and on. These shoes make up fake hypotheticals then debate them as if it was reality.

  11. Bruce Blahak Says:

Agreed…waste of time watching these clowns spew garbage…just watch the games and you’ll be more informed than these paid bullsh*tters.

  12. DaBux Says:

    “Crack don’t smoke itself”

  13. ClodHopper Says:

This might be worse than big mouth Steve Smiths take last year before the playoffs. At least Steve Smith can say he was thinking emotionally.

  14. Alanbucsfan Says:

The Heinicke narrative is worn out- take White and Vea out of ANY game and Bucs D will struggle.

  15. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

This guy should be fired as a football analyst. Either he is a dumbass or he just made up that statement. I wonder if he can even name one Bucs offensive linemen.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

How does he know WTF will even make the playoffs….and if they do, they will play the Bucs…..what…in the NFC Championship Game……sure.

  17. JGhotier Says:

I don’t wonder why Joe has a hang-up about BSPN….I see it clearly and agree completely

  18. Swampbuc Says:

How do his colleagues let him get away with that shizzit? Wasn’t Larsen subbing for Cappa in that game and wasn’t he the one who got beat a few times, hence the Stinnie replacement at New Orleans? What a maroon.

  19. Swampbuc Says:

DaBux – “Crack don’t smoke itself”

    LOL!

  20. Bird Says:

    Dabux

Oh man. I am sorry but have to steal that line
Just woke up and i am dying
    😂

  21. Biff Barker Says:

The content providers get paid by producing stories for advertisers. There is no accountability for accuracy nor original content because its just an opinion.
Basically its just crap on time designed to bolster ratings. The end result is increased profits.
Networks hire talking heads to spew the garbage written by morons like ACHO. Let’s just ignore the TV producers entirely as they are a different level of moron.
You cant blame these tools for trying to earn a living, but they are still just tools.
At least two decades have passed since tuning in to BSPN. Like many millions, I cut the cord two years back and expect eventual starvation.

  22. Bucsfan951 Says:

I guess a guy who gets all pro votes his rookie season is questionable 🤷🏻‍♂️ And it’s not like marpet is any slouch. His 2020 season was great! Correct me if I am wrong but between these two dudes alone, they allowed just 1 sack all season.

And it’s not like cap/stinnie was this horrible player. They played solid, too.

This one is a real head scratcher for sure.

  23. gotbbucs Says:

    Wow,….. just,…..wow.

I mean, I get it, these shows need to find content to fill time, but…..wow. On a positive note, if those are our hurdles to get over, I feel pretty confident then.

  24. Chris K Says:

How do some of these guys get paid for having no knowledge on a subject they are supposed to be experts at? I’m embarrassed for him!

  25. SOEbuc Says:

Marpet is a top five guard and we have two starting caliber guards fighting for the number one spot. I think he doesn’t know RT from LT and got confused.

  26. Bird Says:

    Bucfan951

You are correct sir. I Think joe did previous article on marpet. Correct me if i am wrong but marpet has not given up a sack the last 2 seasons

  27. SOEbuc Says:

    Chris K

They’re too busy getting sloshed at weddings all the time to do research.

  28. John Says:

    what an idiot

  29. ROFOBUC Says:

Acho is the worst ‘analyst’ out there. Clueless blunder!

  30. Infomeplease Says:

    Shi* For a brain!!!!!!!!

  31. Stanglassman Says:

It doesn’t get any better. I watched this on YouTube yesterday and had to laugh. The other guy goes on to say the Bucs had no injuries last year and they’d be in trouble if Brady went down for any significant time. Not true and no kidding. Not many teams would be fine without their starting Qb.

Joe nailed it with the summary of ‘lazy analysis’ just really bad.

  32. allbuccedup Says:

    I thought it was WFT.

  33. Marine Buc Says:

I would say the Bucs biggest weaknesses are Kicker, left tackle, right guard and DB depth (things are pretty thin behind Davis, Dean and SMB)…

  34. Buczilla Says:

Lol, just think, this dude could be casting a vote for all pro, pro bowlers, and maybe even the hof in a few years. Just another reason why our guys don’t get their due unless they are above and beyond their peers. Blow it all up and let Ira and Dungy decide which men/women are worthy of voting for the above honors. And please don’t let idiot (our fans aren’t idiots of course) fans vote anything, like ever.

  35. Pewter report Says:

Useless and unwatchable especially Sam acho

  36. SufferingSince76 Says:

The amount of disrespect the Bucs continue to get is astonishing.

  37. Joe in Michigan Says:

Marine Buc: Are there any NFL teams that have 4 or 5 good corners? I’m not sure that Ross Cockrell and Antonio Hamilton are terrible players, they might do adequately if called upon.
Like I’ve said, if the need arises, the Bucs will trade for or sign a free agent vet (think of an AQ Shipley type). The days of “There’s no cavalry coming” or whatever quote Dirk Koetter used to say about sticking with the same guys no matter how bad they are at football. The perfect example of this was Caleb Benenoch, who started 16 games in 2018 without being good at football.

  38. WillieG Says:

Once again I have to thank Joe for watching all this insipid drivel so I don’t have to. All I have to do is speed read what Joe writes. I haven’t watched a football show in months and that’s a good think. Thanks Joe!

  39. Joe Says:

Once again I have to thank Joe for watching all this insipid drivel so I don’t have to.

    LOL!

You are welcome. Joe isn’t sure what is worse. Acho’s ignorance of his former team or someone in the production meeting or on the air doesn’t correct him. Tripe like that makes every person on that show a moron.

Seriously, Acho practiced against Ali Marpet. He really thinks Marpet is a liability?

  40. BuucccNASTY he p Says:

Damn this dude dumb lol idk if he misspoke about what tackle but still.. damn

  41. B Says:

I love my Bucs and I love you guys…but we really couldn’t stop Tyler Heinke. The “right tackle” comment is ridiculous, but other than that… not insane. They almost beat us with QB garbage. Our dbs sans Davis and Winfield are suspect.

  42. Mike Says:

Yep, definitely right guard and right tackle, if you’re talking about like 2 years ago, you nailed it… Ah, comedic relief…

  43. Bucsfan951 Says:

“ I love my Bucs and I love you guys…but we really couldn’t stop Tyler Heinke.”

Stopped him enough to win the game so 🤷🏻‍♂️

  44. Wesley Says:

I’m just gonna pretend that first series didn’t happen.

  45. gp Says:

All I can say is, If that’s our weakness, then the rest of the NFL is in for an ass whoopin!

  46. Tampa Brady Fan Says:

Dude needs to lay off whatever it is he’s smoking.

  47. The Deflator Says:

This just in: Sam Acho is an idiot.
