Predicting Record-Breaking Season For Tom Brady

August 27th, 2021

Crystal ball guesswork.

If this actually comes to pass, Joe will go out on a limb and say not only do the Bucs repeat as Super Bowl champions, this may go down as the greatest athletic achievement in sports.

Notorious sports carnival barker Skip Bayless is throwing the gauntlet down. On his hollering show he co-hosts with Shannon Sharpe, “Undisputed,” seen and heard weekday mornings on FS1, Bayless is adamant that Bucs fans will see a feat unmatched in the annals of football.

Bayless firmly believes the NFL MVP this season will a man who has the best season of his long career. That’s park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

At age 44.

If that is true, Brady, Bayless believes, will throw for over 5,235 passing yards. That would be at least the third-best season in NFL history. Peyton Manning has the record for 5,477.

If Brady breaks his personal record, that would shatter the Bucs’ franchise record for passing yards in a season of 5,109 set two years ago by Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, who this morning was named the slimy Saints starting QB.

Before people fall off their chairs in disgust at Bayless, remember there are 17 games this year. Last year Brady threw for 4,633 yards in 16 games, an average of 289 yards a game. If you added his game average to his 2020 season total, it is 4,922.

If you also factor in how Brady claims he didn’t know the full playbook of Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians until late November of last year, Bayless’ prediction isn’t as bonkers as it may seem on face value.

What a fun season this should be!

I think Bayless also said Brady would throw 55 td passes!
    Season can’t start soon enough

  2. gotbbucs Says:

I believe this as well. Antonio Brown has a chance I believe because of this to also put up absolutely ridiculous numbers.
The only thing that I think can conceivably prevent this from happening is coaching and injuries, that’s it. Arians and Leftwich are fully capable of hold these guys back.

Brady gone Ball out dis year!

  6. Medicated Pete Says:

Here’s who i wanna see ball out this season w/ TB12:
AB, Godwin, OJ, Gio Bernard. If that happens we’re going back to back like the Tampa Bay Lightning ⚡⚡⚡

  7. Gofortheface30 Says:

Skip may be a carnival barker but he’s crazy like a fox. And tbh he’s been pretty dead on about the Bucs in general for over a year now when talking about our talent. Was actually pretty entertaining after the Bucs went to the Super Bowl and won the super bowl coming out in a Tampa jersey on the show

  8. Bird Says:

Dont forget brady taken out at halftime last year – detroit.

He easily could have put up a few hundred more yards.

  9. Youngbucs Says:

Brady broke multiple Bucs records last year. Individual and team wise he was breaking Bucs QB records by week 3-4😂

  10. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete - Founder of IAMSTPETE.community Says:

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH SKIP BAYLESS ON THIS ONE.

Brady and the Bucs are BOTH primed for their best seasons ever in their respective NFL History’ individually and collectively…

It should be a Season For The Ages on all fronts.

    20-0 is a realistic goal & aspiration.

    LET’S DO IT, BUCS!!!!!

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Just curious on the monikers……we had Jameis for 5 years yet the only monikers I can recall for him was Mr. Entertainment, America’s QB, Probowler….

Yet with Brady….going into his second year we have 17….

Surely while Jameis was here….W’s eating, Uber groping, Mr. Pick 6 & others could have been added……all of Jameis’ monikers were positive…..or were they just sarcasticly (not a word) rediculous?

  12. Buc1987 Says:

It’s going to be a grrreat season!

  13. Steven007 Says:

If everything falls into place and injuries are kept to a minimum, the sky is the limit. We should see some serious production from this offense. And this defense frankly. Obviously they feed off each other. Get an early lead, force the team to pass, get a pass rush and get some turnovers. Then back to the offense. Can’t wait.

  14. mark2001 Says:

I think if I were Bruce, I’d go into the D meeting, and challenge them to dominate, and take over the game. And prove to the world that they are the better side of the ball in Tampa Bay.

Then I’d walk across the hall, and go into the O meeting…and challenge them to dominate, and take over the game. And prove to the world that they are the better side of the ball in Tampa Bay.

Then when the Special Teams are meeting ..I’d tell them to do their jobs, block, be smart, tackle…be aggressive …give it your all. Because you don’t want the stain of not doing so, and end up costing this great team the greatest victory that we are certainly capable of.

  15. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Since last year it’s been Super Bowl or bust. Teams buy SB rosters all the time, but none put it together like we did. Everything that has happened is for one thing and that is to have a three year dynasty in a way never done before, and that is for Brady to get 10 rings. With all things that can happen they don’t have control over, the things I don’t want to see are; taking Brady out of games no matter the score, sitting starters or playing turtle on offense or not to lose on defense. If they handle their business they will have the bye weeks. This roster is built to put up points and to blow out teams. Arians and Bowles are aggressive and Brady has bought into it. This defense is built to protect leads and to take over games. Brady should’ve had MVP last year this year he should. This year we have the roster to take down several league offensive records and we all want to see that!

  16. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

    Three bye weeks

  17. Cobraboy Says:

What a season that would be! Bucs would be considered the best offense in history!

  18. Rod Munch Says:

Watching Brady sitting at the Manning HOF speech, something about it… I don’t know… I then go back and look at the best offenses in history, Brady #3, Manning #1 (points). To think Brady still has a chance to get that top spot — and you’re going to tell me that Brady doesn’t know that scoring record?

Yep, I think we could see a historic year. The Bucs, if healthy, have all the tools they’d need. Brady could easily pass for 350 a game (5950 yards) and get 50+ TDs (he had 40 last year). The issue will be the Bucs defense. If it’s ‘elite’ then the Bucs won’t need to score points — but I do not believe they are elite. Last year during the regular season they were pretty average and got hot in the playoffs, and I doubt the playoff defense is what we see all year. If I’m wrong, then great, it means the Bucs probably go undefeated, but I think they’re more like a 12th ranked defense, which should give the offense a chance to get that record.

  19. Joe Says:

    55+ TD’s and 5 will be week 4!!!

  20. Eddie Marz Says:

Doesn’t anyone remember the Packer and Chiefs games. Brady threw 3 Td’s in the first half of each game and none in the second half. He’s not going for records, unless you mean Super Bowl records.

  21. Duane Says:

Bayless is outrageous, but he has been on the TB12 bandwagon since Jump Street. Last year he tore Shannon up pretty much every week with the Brady love. He is right you cannot bet against Thomas Edward Patrick Brady. Ever.

  22. SlyPirate Says:

TB12 is blazing new trails this year. At 44 …

    1. 5000 Yards
    2. 51 TDs
    3. MVP
    4. Super Bowl MVP
    5. Wins Governor of NJ (didn’t even enter)
    6. Divides by zero
    7. Has his cake and eats it, too
    8. Discovers Big Foot in Atlantis

    Gonna be a great year!

  23. ClodHopper Says:

    I can see it.

  24. johnny o Says:

hi kids: Tommy will set records this year, due to longevity, he seems to set a record every game he plays. but make no mistake, he only cares about one record:super bowls. the team just wants to win, he will be rested in situations when the game is in control. coach knows he’s 44, let’s keep him around to fight another day. 5000 passing yards, 50 plus touchdown passes, I don’t see it. as long as he’s in one piece and recording Ws, he’s happy. GO BUCS!

  25. Slacker Brady fan Says:

I was a dieheart vikings fan back when Culpepper for Ross was making history. Then superbowl came around of Brady’s first. When he won his first superbowl mvp and won the Cadillac escalade. He was so humble and said thats my truck and he said no its the teams. And he has been a stand out to nfl ever since and hus wife is full of class and tom’s parents always speak with class and i am stoked to have him playing for the buc’s as i will plan my holiday trip home to catch a game. I am glad Brady broke away from Belachik cuz he would have never got the credit he deserves and what a superbowl to make a statement. Tom son deserve ball boy over plenty as he has brought so much money into the sport and whoever is the clown saying oh that is why black people don’t have jobs needs to grow up cuz most sports use kids for that job and if a grown adult needs a ball boy job they have not amounted to much. Of course some fool would turn ball boy into a black thing. Stop trashing kids you clown as it is a kids job and 20 years of dedicated great football from Tom as i see no other kid who deserves ball boy more. Tom very very best of luck and i already know your swinging for the fence as you deserve all of it. Even the haters like Tom after some drinks and he deserved to wobble with huge smile. The trophy toss was awesome… Lets go get em Goat. Tom is like the best wine. Gets better over each year.

  26. Erik Says:

I don’t care how many records he beats. As long as the buccaneers make it to the Super Bowl. But I do have an idea when Brady will retire, when he gets an undefeated season with a super bowl win that is the one thing he almost did but has a chance to do it with this team. Only Miami has ever accomplished that. Been a fan since 2000 and this team is do up some Super Bowl wins. Hi bucs

  27. Izod Says:

There was an unusually high luck factor involved at the end of the season for the Bucs last year. The number of favorable calls, lucky bounces, and great overall luck (e.g., Chiefs being out two starting OL which changed the entire dynamic of the game) is what the difference was.

Sorry, but I’m a believer in the Law of Averages. There is just no way the Bucs lucky streak is going to continue. It’s possible we don’t even make the playoffs, however, given the parity in the NFC right now, I don’t think that’s a great possibility. The AFC is a different matter. There are a handful of great teams there that could easily handle us.

Chance of SB repeat in my mind: <5%

  28. CJBuc Says:

Stopped readding that comment after dieheart. And don’t try to blame it on autocorrect.

  29. Brandon Says:

    Mark21-

Wow. That’s brilliant. I’m surprised you aren’t a coach. Arians challenging the defense, offense, and special teams to dominate. What a concept. We should go undefeated for sure. I just hope the 31 other coaches don’t think of that. 🤡

  30. Ned Says:

    Wait i wana predict too
Brady will throw for 5500 yard
    56 td
    Mvp
    Sb mvp
3 receivers will have 1000 yards
    12 int
    Did i miss anything?

  31. Looking at YOU! Says:

Izod is a “Slimy Saints” fan. Clearly! Well, I (could be) wrong and he’s a CRAPPY cheifs fan. Either way, “us” in his statement Doesn’t represent the WORLD CHAMPION TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS!
Us? You mean your team the Saints! You were right. Averages didn’t hold out for your Slimy Saints….!
Why don’t you go back to snuggling up to Winston’s jock strap on your side of the fence hun!

    GO BUCS!
