Pair Of Bucs To Fear

August 12th, 2021

Props from NFL Network.

As Sean Murphy-Bunting said yesterday, some teams will freakout when they see what the Bucs’ front-seven is going to throw at quarterbacks.

Nate Burleson thinks the Bucs have one of the best defensive duos for the next decade. And one of those guys Burleson points out is not in the Bucs’ front-seven.

In a segment on what team has the best one-two punch on defense, the former wide receiver picked the Bucs with inside linebacker Devin White and safety Antoine Winfield. Burleson said the way those two balled out in the playoffs should put the league on notice that you dare not test the middle of the Bucs defense.

On White in the playoffs, Burleson said, “He was a madman out there. … knocking the snot out of people.”

Burleson, who played with Winfield’s dad, added the son is a chip off the old man’s block. A big chip.

“At their age, can you imagine what they are going to be like five years from now?”

Normally, Joe would have to wipe the drool from his chin with such a thought. But first thing’s first. Let’s enjoy watching White and Winfield mopping up offenses this year as the Bucs try to defend their crown.

A killer asteroid might wipe out Florida between now and 2026.

You can view Burleson’s segment at the 0:45 mark of the NFL Network video below.

And yesterday was Burleson’s last day on “Good Morning Football.” He is the first of the show’s original quartet to leave for bigger and better things. He just got hired to co-host “CBS This Morning” on weekdays.

Now NFL Network: Just don’t let Kay Adams loose.

Joe, Burleson is on Good Morning Football right now…. Maybe today or tomorrow is his last day?

  2. Buxszntkt Says:

So you’re saying Nate is the poor man’s (networks) Michael Strahan ?

    Joe:

I am asking for a friend

Is it okay to hope the killer asteroid wipes out Washington D.C?

  4. Buc50 Says:

Burleson picked the Bucs to win it all before anyone. Strahan just laughs when the Bucs are mentioned.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

Bucs are loaded on both sides of the ball.

    Bring on the repeat….I’m ready.

I am not amused by your comment.

Glad to hear Burleson is joining CBS. That crew could use a breath of life.

And he might just be using his head hear picking Winfield. Its no secret that Bowles has groomed some of the best safeties in the league everywhere hes been. This defense is the perfect fit for a talented young safety to play. Exactly why I was very excited when we drafted that position last year and Winfield didnt dissapoint. Could eaily see him having a pro bowl/ all-pro season!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. John Sinclear Says:

Ocala- Yes, but only if Congress is in session.

Tampa native. Live in Virginia. Work close to DC. Can look down at the Pentagon I’m so close. I wholly agree, but can we hold off for another 4 years until I retire?

BTW Hey Joe, did you see the Clyde Christianson interview on the Pat Macafee show the other day. Thought you would have posted some nuggets by now. It was a great interview with Clyde. GO BUCS!!!!!

Congrats to Nate B, bringing some professional swag to the CBS morning crew. He starts with them in September. But I like his picks for the dynamic duo, a lot may depend on the Todd Bowles and how he creates ways for them to make plays. in the words of Chucy, the future is so bright we need sunglasses or maybe thesun is just bright in Florida

  12. Eckwood Says:

    Yes , Ocala

I like Burleson better than Strahan. But each to their own.

  15. Buc1987 Says:

    Strahan is a joke.

How does a guy with the worst lisp in the history of America get jobs hosting ANYTHING?

    I never understood it.

  16. Bucsfanman Says:

You need your pulse checked if you’re not geeked about this defense!

I’m in Manassas, 20 miles south. How about just a smaller asteroid?

  18. bucsfaninOregon Says:

Ocala, how about Mar-a-lago instead of Wash. DC?
