“Everybody Will Play”

August 9th, 2021

Those packing The Licht House on Saturday night to get their first glimpse of Tom Brady will get their wish.

At least that’s the plan, per Bucco Bruce Arians.

The head coach said after today’s morning session that “everybody will play” in the preseason opener against Cincinnati.

This great news for the Bucs faithful fired up to see the Super Bowl champs for the first time, though Joe’s not a big fan of key players exposing themselves to injury in a meaningless game. Do we really need Donovan Smith to tweak an ankle or Carlton Davis to pop a groin? You get the idea.

Regardless, Saturday just got a lot more interesting. Joe is fired up! Any football is good football!

Chris.. who care? Can we ever have a discussion without things getting political? Good thing we didn’t change the anthem from “Hail Colombia”, the original one, to the “Star Spangled Banner”, in the 21st century. We’d be arguing over that. I really like “America the Beautiful” alot. But this is all another topic.

I’m sure wealthy Blacks are tired of being pulled over for nothing, while driving expensive cars with tint, as much as we are with BLM. I just think the entire thing is sad. Sad the former happens…and sad Black people see the need to organize as BLM .

Two comments in, on a post that has to do with the entire roster getting a chance to play, things become political apropos of nothing. Agreed Mark. Who the f cares? That said it might be fun to mute the announcers and get the radio feed from Deckerhoff. With the entire roster playing there will be lots of readjusted names.

    Hey Chris,
Post your BLM views on your company website-Bet you won’t.

I mute the national anthem all the time !!! But will listen to the black national anthem!!!

Who has made it political, the fans or the players?

If anyone declares a “Black National Anthem,” then that person is a racist. One nation, one nationality, one anthem. You want separatism based on race, you are a racist. BLM is a racist organization. When the police are defunded, the people who suffer are the ones who live in lower income neighborhoods. If you advocate defunding the police, you are advocating depriving lower income folks of the same protections as people in more affluent neighborhoods. Class warfare is wrong. It is anti-American.

The NFL has decided to insert this discussion into our viewing of the games, so the argument that politics should not be inserted is one sided. It’s not okay to jam this stuff in our faces and then demand we either agree or not discuss it.

The only way to get into “football shape” is to hit and be hit.

When the stampede of a 17 game season is coming at you, you don’t tip-toe towards it. You go running with spear. You can’t coach scared or else you’re players will be trampled on in week 1.

  11. BA4President Says:

As a reminder, BLM stands for Black Lives Matter. Not Black Lives Matter More or even Black Lives Matter Equally. This movement is so non-threatening that the request in the name is that they simply “Matter” and their lives are not dispensable.

Black Lives Matter is simply reminding people that their lives matter and that police officers can’t be as quick to become the judge, jury, and executioner of a black person running from a cop. Last time I checked, no judge in this century would ever give the death sentence as a result of someone simply running from a police officer.

Preseason games always concern me. But I will definitely watch.

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

How does promoting division help unity. Black lives do matter, so do Hispanic, Asian and other diverse cultures. When is the last time BLM supported an injustice act on an Hispanic, Asian, WHITE etc individual(s). There will always be hate and prejudices but attacking those who do not hate is just ludicrous and just as hateful. A BLACK national anthem is just confirming some do NOT want to be united. Our politicians suck and use this chaos to get votes.

  16. Devin DiPalma Says:

If everyone would shut the hell up and just treat everyone else how they want to be treated, this wouldn’t be an issue. But people are too busy being insulted or feeling slighted over things that shouldn’t matter.

If you don’t like BLM or them airing a song you disagree with, then don’t watch. I for one have no issue with it, and actually enjoy America representing more of its history and heritage.

And for the record, people divided are easier to control than people United. Think about that the next time you turn on Fox News or cnn and they’re trying to convince you how mad or angry you should be at those with different opinions. Personally, I don’t give a damn what you believe. You respect me and my views and I’ll happily respect yours. It really doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that.

  20. Roy T. Buford Says:

I expect it will be soggy, and the starters will be on the field briefly. Going back to his NE days, Brady typically came out, did a TD drive, and went to the sideline. Probably the same here. Hopefully they put together a nice drive to start things out. Obviously Gabbert needs some time, but I’m really looking forward to seeing Trask get some work over the next few practice games.

  21. mark2001 Says:

Sounds about right Roy. Get those guys off the field before it gets too chewed up.
