Reasons To Be Stoked

July 22nd, 2021

Better in 2021?

As you will hear on a soon-to-be-published edition of the “Ira Kaufman Podcast,” Ira is convinced Bucs fever has never reached the level it has with the team just days away from opening training camp.

Joe senses that is because of park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Yes, the addition of Brady, 44 next month, gave the Bucs a Super Bowl win. Joe honestly believes there is no one player that played a more important role. Brady single-handedly changed the culture at One Buc Palace. That’s all there is to it.

So yeah, coming off a Super Bowl win with Brady still with the Bucs, what Bucs fan wouldn’t be excited?

Then when you start to peel the onion skins back, it seems to get better.

Consider, Brady was one of the top passers in the game last year. He had the second-most completions (401), the second-most touchdown passes (40) and the third-most yards(4,633).

And, Brady did this on a new team with a new coach and new teammates, with no (team-organized) offseason and no preseason games, playing on one leg.

Now, Brady is healthy, knows his teammates, knows his coaches, knows his team. And will receive his seventh Super Bowl ring this evening.

What Bucs fan wouldn’t be excited?

Man, it’s like being nine years old, waking up at 3 A.M. on Christmas day, and having to wait three hours so you don’t p!ss off your parents. Start already season!

Totally unrelated but chump (I mean, have ya checked his numbers on pro football reference?!?) linebacker Fred Warner signed a massive contract today. If I’m Devin’s agent, double what Warner got is my starting offer to Licht next year.

  2. Stanglassman Says:

Didn’t we just draft White a year ago? Why would he be signing a new contract? Isn’t he going into year 2 of a 4 year contract with a 5th year option?

  3. Buczilla Says:

    @Stanglassman

He’s going into year 3 and the sooner we sign him, the better since he’s an obvious keeper.

Joe trust me there’s some so called fans who aren’t excited 😜

I was honestly thinking about putting some money on Brady for MVP. I remember the odds being so good. With the Bucs chances of another run, everyone healthy, AB for 16 games, Gronk in football shape and Brady on 2 good legs, it seems like a no brainer.

But then I live in Florida with no gambling. How does one make such a bet?

  6. PSL Bob Says:

Team and individual records will fall by the handfuls this year, as the greatest offense of all times takes the field.

Being excited is fine, you have a tremendous team on paper. But, you folks are counting chickens. Getting through camp without a major injury is the first hurrdle. This season will about attrition for the bucs. People are in the stands this year. Nothing really matters except staying healthy and getting home field. No more empty domes in road playoff games. They should be wire to wire the best team in football. I know y’all wanna set records and see Brady throw for 7k. That’s all well and good, just be careful what you wish for. I’ve seen this movie. I witnessed 07 up close. I watched a cockey overconfident team that by the end of the season was cooked. Pray for an early loss. Nothing good comes from chasing records. Only chase championships.

PSL Bob team and individual records fell last season plenty of them!!!!
