Feeling The Tom Brady Super Bowl Speech

July 22nd, 2021

Yes, Joe just watched the sixth and final In The Current episode of this summer’s series and cried like a baby.

The Buccaneers’ official in-house feature production revisited the Super Bowl season and closed with a heavy focus on the beatdown of the Chiefs and the aftermath.

That famous Tom Brady pregame speech, the one nobody outside the roster heard, is known for focusing on honor and what a Super Bowl win means for everyone in a player’s family. But while the Bucs shared no video or audio in the feature, several players chimed in with their accounts.

“The most impassioned speech I’ve ever heard.” Cameron Brate said of what he called a chills-inducing performance.

“Movie-worthy speech by Tom before the game,” said Mike Evans.

Devin White explained that Brady approached him before the speech to ask for the time. “After you finish talking, give me the floor,” Brady told White.

“He didn’t even get us fired up. He just sent chills through your body,” White recalled. “Man, he sound like an Army general.”

“The intensity in his voice,” Chris Godwin reflected.

“It gave us a better understanding of how important this game is to us as individuals and as a team,” Leonard Fournette explained.

White added it was the first speech Brady gave the Bucs all season.

Damn, what a time to break out the fastball.

How the hell is Brady going to top all this magic in 2021?

The legend grows! Thank the football gods he is on our side!
I still pinch myself that he is our QB! Blows my mind!!!! LMAO!

My wife recently said,” I’m glad the Bucs got “The Guy” to help your team win it all! Crazy on man could change so much! After all those failed seasons it’s good to see you smile!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself!

  6. SOEbuc Says:

    Melted.

  7. Razor Ramone Says:

Like the opening speech in the movie Patton, I’ll bet.

  8. Slugglife Says:

    Excellent Field General comparison, Sir.

  9. CocoaBeachBuc Says:

Hey Brevard Buc..you close to Cocoa Beach? Maybe meet up to watch a BUCS game this year.

  10. ClodHopper Says:

What I wouldn’t give to hear that infamous speech.

“Damn, what a time to break out the fastball.”

    That is a prefect metaphor.

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

What makes this speech legendary is that it wasn’t taped or recorded….forces us to rely on the player’s impressions…..

In this day & age, somehow I expect it to show up via someone’s phone….hopefully not….it should go down in history as a personal, private speech to his teammates.

  12. shecky Says:

Can’t decide whether Joe’s “fastball” metaphor or someone’s “Patton” comment was most appropriate. So I’ll take both.

  13. DoooshLaRue Says:

    I didn’t cry.

My allergies were acting up quite a bit though…….

  14. Terry O'Hora Says:

For once, EVERY. SINGLE. POST. on here is SPOT ON.
I do the same thing EVERY DAY, Brevard Buc. Wake up, look around, then find out if Brady REALLY IS the Bucs QB
Even his speech at the White House on Tuesday left everyone in awe!

  15. Kevbeth5 Says:

Tampabaybucfan…..I don’t usually post. But I do look forward to your common sense comments and takes to weigh my own thoughts. That last one was spot on !

  16. Slugglife Says:

While I respect everybody who posts here to a certain degree, what exactly was the moment that made you cry like a baby?

I may have lived on the edge of pissed off and euphoria but no tears have ever been shed. Wait, I take that back, I had 1 and 1 on the squares when Dwight Smiths stupid ass didn’t go out of bounds on that last pick six in 2002.

Cost me $500. Carry on crybabies.

  17. sgrd0q Says:

Field general is right. The ability to lead and inspire others is what Tom is all about.

  18. Randy Says:

He is one of the few if not one of the only players I’ve ever seen that actually Elevate the play of everyone around him just by his presence

  19. PSL Bob Says:

To have every one of the players interviewed say that it was an epic speech and it motivated them to play at an elite level is testimony to Brady’s leadership. On and off the field, the guy is simply unbelievable in terms of elevating everyone else’s performance. He sets the standard. He probably did the same thing in NE. We just never heard about it.

  20. MRRR Says:

I bet there was no discussion about eating W’s.

  21. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

The Greatest Of All Time, period. Also the best FA signing in NFL and Bucs history.

  22. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

If you haven’t watched the video, you have to see it. Awesome!! Gave me chills.
