Antonio Brown Returns Following Brady Chat

July 27th, 2021

Bucco Bruce Arians is not talking about injuries or timetables for players. At least that’s what he said emphatically on Sunday morning.

Perhaps Arians will change his mind. Joe cannot be sure.

But what Joe can be sure of is that furniture-hurling, bicycle-throwing Bucs Super Bowl champion wide receiver Antonio Brown was back practicing today — after a notable post-practice session with Tom Brady yesterday.

Brown didn’t practice on Days 1 and 2 of camp and appeared to arrive late to the field. No, Arians wasn’t talking about that, either. Then after yesterday’s practice (Day 2), Brown appeared on the One Buc Palace fields for about a 15-minute route-running session with Brady.

Afterwards, the two were seen having a cooldown chat that appeared significant, per NFL Network reporter Sara Walsh speaking on WDAE Radio.

Today, Brown was his high-energy self, bouncing around early in practice and eager to interact from a distance with the spars crowd of Bucs fans.

Hopefully, Brown is healthy — and happy — following his offseason knee surgery and being released early from court-ordered probation.

I don’t know how this guy’s going to tolerate playing as a wr3

  2. SB~LV Says:

    Darden is upsetting his stomach

  3. Metsguy75 Says:

Brown will have to be number 2/3 receiver which he’s fine with. Heck he’s happy he has a job and not a furniture mover or the guy that holds up those signs at Tour De France

  4. Bird Says:

Brady is only guy that can keep him in check
He is a diva. Thinks he is better then everyone…but not brady. Not seven rings. That is why brady can keep him drama-less

I give you the goat ladies and gentlemen

  5. Ben green Says:

He’ll lead the team in targets.

  6. Medicated Pete Says:

TB12 loves AB b/c he knows how to run OPTION ROUTES & get open NO MATTER WHAT

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

If there is anyone out there that isn’t happy having AB as our #3 receiver….please speak up & provide why.

Don’t think Tom Brady is in that group.

  8. David Says:

AB, like all our Tampa top receivers, has an X factor. I pulled up his highlight plays from the years He does find a way to get open Go Bucs for the SB repeat

  9. Bird Says:

Even coming off injury and his age , AB is best #3 WR in nfl
Throw in our tight ends and opposing teams are not that team at linebacker and secondary

This is truly a fantasy football team

  10. Bird Says:

    Deep. Not team^^^

    To stop this offense
    Autocorrect is crazy

  11. Colin in Canada Says:

AB hasnt done training camp in a few years if you look back. Hopefully hes not having some kind of melt down.

  12. SB~LV Says:

There is enough talent in the WR to put his ole ass in his place

  13. Mike Says:

AB needs practice time with Brady to get the timing perfect, so glad he is getting out there with the team right now.

  14. Boston Bob Says:

Brady was not a happy camper, when the Patriots cut AB. He knows what AB brings to the table.

  15. Eddie Marz Says:

All this drama. Cool your jets, most of this stuff is overblown. AB will conform or be shown the door. I think you wants to stay and get another ring, even if. Brady has to convince him.

  16. Buczilla Says:

Man, I hope that this dude isn’t getting ready to have another episode, but this looks like one might be simmering. We are going to need him big time at some point this year since Mike is starting to show a little wear and Godwin has missed six games the past two seasons. Fingers crossed. 🤯

  17. Bojim Says:

Mike will have a hamstring as usual sometime and AB will be there for us.

  18. Jb kickback Says:

If you don’t stop disrespecting him im going to block you
He’s our best receiver and has come a long way in learning life’s lessons. A little respect and love for what he does for our team would go a long way
Having three number ones is making up for Brady only having a legitimate number one for only two of his 20 years in NE

  19. Irishmist Says:

Like Terrell Owens, he has all the talent in the world but you just can’t depend that he’s going to have his head screwed on right. That’s why it’s good we have other options.

  20. Joe knows Says:

I’ll give joe props if this is something, but it’s kind of a florid like speculation piece. Is Antonio out of practice for a reason? His knee? Why the insinuation he is unhappy and he came back only after talking to Tom. No, you aren’t saying that, but your writing implies it

  21. Huey Newton Says:

Just trying to create a narrative. Brown is inside rehabbing that knee. He is fine. Stop trying to create a story based on your own personal dislike for somebody. He has been a great addition, teammate, and is trying to turn over a new leaf in his life. The past is the past. Move on.

  22. SufferingSince76 Says:

He proved himself last year. Give him a break.

  23. Beeej Says:

Respect isn’t demanded, it isn’t even a given. It’s earned

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’d just as soon cut him

  25. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    SufferingSince76 Says
“He proved himself last year. Give him a break.”

    He actually didn’t but whatever.

  26. Clw JB Says:

Look forward not back until forced too – he has been a model citizen since he arrived and is a MAJOR talent

    Glad we have him

  27. Terry Sullens Says:

AB didn’t prove himself if I’m not wrong didn’t he catch 2 SB TDs last season what else does he need to do

  28. Huey Newton Says:

    @Buccanerr Bonzal

Actually he did and only played in 8 games during the regular season. Really 7 because that regular season blowout against the Saints dont count. Nobody did anything that game.

  29. Anonymous Says:

The Steelers, Raiders and Patriots are all saying He’s your problem now Tampa Bay

  30. Armybucfan Says:

JEEZ!!!!!some of you SO CALLED FANS CANNOT BE HAPPY FOR THIS TEAM FOR A SINGLE MOMENT! we have 3 legitimate number 1 WR’s with Evans, Godwin, and AB. YES, AB has had a laundry lists of problems that he has presented his OTHER teams but has yet to present any to us. HELL, does anyone on here believe we would have went to the Super Bowl when Evans and Godwin went down last year without AB? (RHETORICAL QUESTION). Who are we to judge this man? If anything we should be kissing THE GROUND AB WALKS ON FOR WHAT HE DID FOR OUR TEAM LAST YEAR.

  31. Arne Yoga Says:

a “spars crowd” is one that fights.
A “sparse crowd” is thin in numbers.
    GO BUCS!

  32. SOEbuc Says:

    Colin in Canada

“AB hasnt done training camp in a few years if you look back. Hopefully hes not having some kind of melt down.“

Don’t think so. This guy has been putting in more work than the large amount of work he usually puts in in the offseason and OTA.

If it’s how good AB is on the outside or how good Godwin in the slot, I honestly believe that would be the best set up (this year). Just run a three WR rotation all day. Not to mention Scotty, TJ, and see what the rookie can do.

  33. SOEbuc Says:

Terry Sullens….I know right? Who the hell are these haters? This has become a team of men in the locker room. And the Bucs weren’t joking when they said he would be out the door if their was any type of conflict. Tom and Bruce and Jason don’t put up with any BS on this team.

  34. Mike Says:

I have many students with some mental disorders. They need a different approach and usually trust only few people. This can explain why he relies on the relationship with Tom. The Bucs probably give a special treatment to AB and assign Tom to keep him in check.

AB is certainly our 1c receiver and has a great connection with Tom as we saw the connection even after running wrong route by AB in the SB game. I completely trust BA and Tom can handle the AB problem.

  35. Buc A+ Says:

A.B. is his own worst enemy. We will see. But damn he is exciting to watch come game time.

  36. Paul Says:

Actually I believe that it was Gronk that caught two “buddies” in the
Superbowl, and AB caught one…not a big deal, but I pretty sure

  37. Paul Says:

“tuddies”. Not buddies…I got auto corrected

  38. Charles Says:

Love seeing Brady and AB doing their thing. Antonio Brown is a smart and also extremely physically talented dude- he maybe just had a rough past, a false accuser and a little bit of an ego. (And getting a big ego can happen to the best of us! Lol.)

Good to see AB now- he’s confident, and a beast, but still humble and team focused too. He’s in a great headspace. He wants to be the best WR he can be, but he also understands his job/role as part of a bigger unit (the team). It’s a great thing to see!

AB and Brady about to win a ring again this year too. My favorite thing of all will be seeing all the haters lose their sh*t again hahaha.

  39. Michael Crawford Says:

They will be absolutely fine… Quit numbering receivers… 1,2,3,4… If he’s open, that’s where a good QB is going to throw it..
